He joined her in the search, sniffing and listening. Shutting his mouth he turned to her again. "I'd say you've already improved by th'way. Y'just needed some more direction maybe.."

NightWolf watched Poppypaw, he could scent her unease but even so she had good instincts, already without being told she is being as quiet as possible.

"One of the many things I learned was this," he says from the shadows as he moves about her, never letting her know where he was exactly, "Is that you are not the biggest hunter out here, there are foxes, badgers, hawks and owls, and even worse creatures like dogs, in our territory we feel safe, we have patrols to look out for such things, but there have been plenty of cats throughout the clans that have died because of lack of awareness," he says

"By the time a patrol finds the foxs scent and reports it to the camp, it could have already found it way here, when you ran out of the camp for the first time, you could've been snatched up," he says, "Even prey take time to sniff the air outside of their holes for danger," he says as he gets ready to pounce on her

"Do you know where I am?" he says from the darkness, he was upwind from her no more than a few fox lengths away to her right, but he used his dark pelt to conceal himself within the shadows, he was deathly silent, he wanted to show her the dangers of being unaware in a place she has never been to.

Gutspaw's gaze was fixated on the stranger, fur bristling and muscles bunched together tightly in preparation to leap at any given moment. It wasn't particularly skilled in fighting (besides what it tried to teach itself — bite hadn't received any official lessons.) but it could bite and tear viciously. However, Mistlewhisker tail rested on its back and it flinched back in surprise — turning its head to stare at her with wide eyes. The praise made a warm feeling buzz under its fur, something it didn't quite understand why. It does not say anything in response, only turning its head away almost bashfully.

It spared a glance towards Squirrelpaw who looked bushy tailed and terrified. Really, not even bothering to show her claws when this was clearly a hostile situation. It wished that whatever entity that followed the apprentice would guide her towards the soft life of a kittypet. It would be merciful.

Gutspaw's attention changed back to the trespasser who still hadn't budged a bit, but despite its gaze being focused on the she-cat teeth was more so listening to Mistlewhisker. Its eyebrows furrowed together, did she really trust someone — a disrespectful child — to follow through? It would be easy to walk out of distance and simply loop back into the territory. If she got this far, she had to be somewhat decent at hiding -- and the snowfall would cover her path and scent. "..I think you're putting too much trust in a disobedient kid, " Really, it would know.

After the trespasser remains quiet even longer, the cold begins to get to it and it cannot help but tremble while the snow continued to fall. It tried to remain patient but there came a point in time of how much it would tolerate. "Alright, I'm f-freezing my bloody ass off. Can't you just escort her to the border? I can t-take Squirrelpaw back. I'm sure she'll tell you if we go off route and threatening her to keep q-quiet would just be too much work 'n ..it's not like I even want to be out here anymore," Gutspaw tried to reason with the warrior, its tone barely just above pleading. Bit ironic considered teeth's prior warning, but it had a witness .. and genuine motivation to go home.
