Pineblossom awoke quickly this morning. Oddly enough. Usually she had a routine. Wake up, complain, roll over, sleep another few minutes, complain again, then get up. Some pep was in her step today. Strange really. The she-cat arose, walking out to the clearing to shake her fluffed pelt out. Her emerald gaze wandered over to a tom in the clearing, Hickorysmoke, she remembered the name. She walked to the fresh kill pile, picking up two mice and padding to the tom.

She was trying to approach this carefully. She had noticed the tom's own disdain and fury at the last Clan meeting where she had been promoted to Hornet, alongside Acornfall and Mountaintalon. Surely a jealousy issue, but that wasn't for her to say. She frankly hadn't been involved in the otter incident like the rest of them, being stuck in the medicine den from that damned rogue attack. Her shoulder twitched like it knew of her thoughts, the scar a reminder of that filthy beast.

"Good morning Hickorysmoke," the she-cat mewed coolly, dipping her head as she approached the tom. She placed a mouse before him, placing the other in front of her before she sat down. "How've you been feeling," she asked, genuinely caring. He had given much to protect the Clan, Pineblossom was fully aware of that.

Great. Pineblossom was coming right for him. A prickle of jealousy started to bubble up in Hickorysmoke's throat, which he quickly had to push back down. He was not going to ruin his image by snapping at a hornet. So he simply sat and watched, his useless eye lazily half closed to block the sun.

"Morning." He said simply, leaning down to take a bite, the scar on the back of his head being particularly painful as he did so. The large, brown tom winced slightly, but continued to eat. "Thanks for the mouse." He murmured, finishing up as he raised his head back to stop the thrombin pain.

Damn otter near taking his life.

"I've been okay. Covering Nightwatcher for training his apprentice." He shrugged coolly
