Rabbitpaw did have a point it was odd that he as a spring kitten was the only one when winter, the least kitten friendly season had a DELUGE of them. Maybe he needed to have a talk with the clan about timing soon.
Now for the talk which was its.... own thing. "'ave I ever told you about the battle fer the skyglade? I was a young warrior then, full o' confidence an' rage against shadowclan fer their part in the war that'd taken so many clanmates. The glade was contested land then, an' tho we didnt know it this fight was the last one fer its ownership.
I...." He hesitated, gulped and hugged Rabbitpaw closer in comfort for what he'd be explaining next. "I dont remember most o' the battle but Twilightstar lost a life ta Dawnstar, who was bleedin' bad but not goin' down. I couldnt handle that. It... Well its more complex but in short I charged 'er an'... An' we tore eachothers throats out, died in tandem.
I died then, tho I dont remember much o' the afterlife but wakin' up ta Twi cryin' over me. Fer a long time I didnt know why starclan brought me back, just thanked 'em every day fer it an' the... gift they gave me."
Though now the thankfulness rang hollow and bitter knowing doubt was being cast on its origin. Blazingstar had promised to look further into his theory, his worries after their encounter in Crowtooths dreams. He'd been silent since and Crowtooth didnt know what that meant. Did it mean that his return to life and his power was in fact from the dark forest as was suspected? Did it mean the old leader was now too disgusted to even talk to Crowtooth? Or did it mean he was still looking to no avail.
All options were disturbing and made the religious deputys fur crawl at the idea of darkness in his soul. He wasnt going to mention that part until he knew at least.
"Just, just watch this kiddo, seein' is believin' an' all."
The tom pointed at a heavy rock, balanced firmly on top of another nearby, drawling the power to himself. At first it seemed little more then a cold odd wind, appearing from nowhere and different to the rest of the breezes flowing overhead. It ruffled the two cats fur, dancing Crowtooths pelt and swirling around him until with a push of a paw (unnecessary, but a helpful cue) he sent the wind rocketing out in a blast, sending the rock flying.
"Kinda cool huh? I dont show it off, its kinda a last ditch effort I keep secret but fer select few. An' I love ya kiddo an' trust ya ta be among the few soooo I wanted ya ta know about it. Any questions? I know this must be a lot."
Hopefully he hadnt scared his kid in an effort to create more closeness and trust.
"You did, briefly on our territory tour." The apprentice responded, he didn't really like that the battle was being brought up for something like this, it wasn't a good omen for what was going to follow. Crowtooth pulling him close, Rabbitpaw happily tucking into his father's fur, was also not a very good sign for what the badger-furred feline was going to share. The apprentice took a deep breath and leaned his head against Crowtooth's chest, ear pressed against it to hear the beating heart of the older tom. Which was a good decision because as he elaborated on the battle, Rabbitpaw's anxiety picked up.
Twilightstar had lost a life to Dawnstar during it. He wasn't dumb, Rabbitpaw knew that she has lost lives, but it was different hearing about seeing it happen in front of you, in such a- His eyes widened and despite himself his fur bristled. Crowtooth had died? He had been killed by Dawnstar? How was he- "How?" He wasn't sure how to what. How he came back, how he died, how anything because Rabbitpaw has never heard of that. Dying and coming back, that wasn't a possibility in his mind in the slightest despite the way he followed and believed in the stars. It wasn't long before Crowtooth explained that Starclan had brought him back, and Rabbitpaw believed him. Why wouldn't he, sure the idea of this resurrection was insane, but it was Crowtooth and why would Crowtooth lie to Rabbitpaw about something like this.
"A gift? When they brought you back?" The heart beat in his ear was the reassurance he needed even though logically, Crowtooth was fine, and that he died a while ago and was very clearly still alive. Rabbitpaw's brain and heart often fought like this about logic and feeling, it was annoying but it was just easier to focus on the moment sometimes rather than trying to sort it all out himself right this moment. A breeze picked up as he questioned aloud, and he shivered and pushed himself closer into Crowtooth's side as the tom instructed him to watch a nearby rock.
Then Crowtooth flicked his paw, as though telling something to leave and all at once the wind rushed after sending the rock careening away. It was impossible to be a coincidence... and the breeze that picked up dissipated. Rabbitpaw pushed away for a moment, green eyes wide as they stared Crowtooth down, "SO you're telling me that you killed Dawnstar, died, came back and have super powers???" Rabbitpaw wasn't in disbelief per say, but if any other cat was talking to him about this, even a Starclan cat themself, Rabbitpaw wouldn't be so convinced. But his dad was alive and his dad just showed him wind powers! "I literally have the coolest dad." He half mumbled to himself, looking away and back towards the rock that was settled in a different area now.
"You can just do that whenever you want! That's so cool!" He almost felt like a kitten again, his worries about the past momentarily forgotten as he wagged his tail faster than a rabbit runs.

Honestly Crowtooth was just really happy Rabbitpaw wasnt freaking out. His kid was (reasonably, after what happened to his mother and brother) a bit of a nut when it came to the cats he cared abouts health and safety so the deputy was kinda worried telling Rabbitpaw he DIED would send him into a tailspin. Crowtooth did not relish the idea of being cobweb wrapped for his own protection and shoved in the elders den.
So, going well so far, though he had no answers about the 'hows and whys' of all this and could only shrug at the questions.
He couldnt help but chuckle at how happy Rabbitpaw seemed, feeling a bit scummy he wasnt giving the whole story about Blazingstars dark forest doubts. Crowtooth would make his kids faith true by efforts though, he'd use the power for good so much even if it was born in darkness he'd purify it and make it a gift in the end. "I promise ya kiddo it sounds less cool then it was. Doubt I'dve be able ta kill Dawnstar at all wit'out Twilightstars an' others efforts ta weaken 'er first an' frankly I was bein' stupid. Pro tip, do not go chargin' powerful leaders stronger then ya 'cuz yer angry. Though I think Id do better in a rematch now...." NOPE HE WASNT GOING DOWN THAT RABBITHOLE! PEACE WITH SHADOWCLAN, PEACE. Even if he still wanted to kill her badly.
"Warms yer Pas silly dirty heart ya think he's cool despite all the dumb I do kiddo." The tom mused, leaning down to rasp a tongue over Rabbitpaws head.
"It is rather cool aint it. Honestly kid Im pretty sure I can do more but yer Pa aint the best at creative like stuff so Ive been stickin' to the push aspect so far. I was thinkin'.... If ya had any ideas of stuff I could try I'd love yer input?" It was a weird sort of bonding but could be fun.

Rabbitpaw
Rabbitpaw returned to his father's side as prompted, and his ears flicked as Crowtooth cleaned his fur. It was scary to know that Crowtooth had died, but it was okay because he was back, and he was healthy now. Sure he got hurt, but everyone did, it's why Rabbitpaw and Lightningstorm were medicine cats. To heal the inevitable. "I'm sure you'd win..." Though to be fair he's hardly even seen Dawnstar in battle, the only time was when the clans drove out Riverclan and then he was far too busy with his own fights to be watching other ones. From Dawnstar's stature and scars though, it was clear that she was quite the fighter.
"You mean the world to me, really, no amount of dumb moments will change that, pa." Rabbitpaw didn't mind really. He considered all cats to have dumb moments because no one was perfect. Even cats like Dawnstar and Twilightstar have surely tripped over their own paws at some point, or fumbled up into their dens, or who even knows back when they were apprentices. Sometimes it seems the clans forget that, that even their worshipped dead were once just living cats like them. They were neglectful, sure, but the living can't expect them to be perfect beings when they are just spirits of life. "Ideas..."
The blonde quieted for a long time, eyes squirting ever so slightly in thought as Rabbitpaw tried to think of some unique applications of his father's abilities. "Well.. I guess, have you ever seen the strongest wind you can make? Like what's the heaviest thing you can push over?" That could be very good information for sure, especially if you wanted to apply it to something like a battle. Could Crowtooth push cats around with the wind? Oh! "Do you think you could mess with the twoleg's den building with it? Or would that be too risky? Do you have to be close to your target? Could you just imagine it elsewhere and it'll happen regardless of where you are?"
Lightnight and Fernpaw padded into the area. Fernpaw had failed to collect cobwebs for his patrol. Lightniht being his stepfather decided it would be best to help before Lightningstorm and Heathernose boxed the young Tom's ears .
Lightnight had taken Fernpaw out due to Twilightstars reasonable buddy system. Lightnight had invited Warmsun to give the tom a chance to redeem himself. It was for silly cobwebs which Lightnight would also help bring back.
Fernpaw gave a small shiver as he padded alongside his stepfather. Hoping Warmsun was following as they arrived at Starry Meadow. Fernpaw searched, finding a dead plant with some cobwebs on it. Grabbing a stick Fernpaw wrapped the cobwebs around it. Hearing Lightnights meow, "Theres some more over here", Fernpaw turned. Seeing a small bit of cobwebs he padded over and collected it. He also noticed how Lightnight had a stick with 2 pieces of cobwebs on it as well. "Find two more then we'll leave" Lightnight told Fernpaw. He was being strict as the tom hadn't done his first patrol, though the undying amusement and fondness he had for his steson never faded.
Fernpaw nodding found another piece of cobwebs from under a random piece of bark. "Oh look! There's one but it's a bit high on this tree...." Fernpaw said. Lightnight reaching up with his long body and handing to cobwebs to Fernpaw with a small "Its ok".
@Desert Rain Frog
Hiya! Giving Warmsun a chance to redeem his patrol! Fernpaw will report back soon so please try and get a collecting post in!

The faith Rabbitpaw had in him was heart warming, though Crowtooth feared the devastating day the kid learned he was as mortal and fallible as anyone else. One day he would make a really bad decision, fail completely, or even fall in battle. It just was something made inevitable by time.
But for the question.... Crowtooth smirked crookedly, still a little pleased at the past victory he dwelled on. "I can fling a cat like Im tossin' nothin' but a mouse wit' my powers. Also collapse a tunnel system full o' minks with a single motion~" That'd been a satisfying victory... He wasnt gonna talk about the fact that he'd impaled that poor riverclan fool he'd 'flung' in a rather gruesome death though.
He did look a little sour however at the twolegs, grumbling showing he'd already thought about it. "I can do some damage ta their fences an' smaller thin's but those dens are strong like tree's. I cant do nothin'." The range question took some thought and eventually he shrugged, admitting "I dont really know how far I can make it go. I know Im the source always, an' I assume it fades farther from me but...." Another shrug.
Crowtooth honestly hadnt experimented and didnt even really know if his push thing was the only thing he could do or if there was like, related actions he could also accomplish. He was clever as a cat but kinda uncreative honestly.

Rabbitpaw thought over the information, tapping his paw against the ground in a little tune as he tried to piece together something different that his dad could possibly do with his ability. "Well rather than pushing stuff away, have you ever pushed things towards you? I would say pull towards you but I don't think that's quite right?" That was probably Rabbitpaw overthinking wording but no matter over the specifics. Could Crowtooth pull wind towards himself rather than away? That could be interesting. "Maybe I'm being silly, its the same ending for both push and pull." He flicked his tattered ear with the conclusion.

It couldnt be that simple right? Crowtooth blinked at Rabbitpaw a couple times, processing as the light flicked on internally that it could indeed be that simple. It'd kill his soul for his afterlife assigned power to be able to be diversified that easy but it felt like it'd work. The tom groaned at his own thickness that he hadnt realized it yet, muttering "Stupid, stupid-" Under his breath before chuckling hopelessly, giving in with a "Well ya know what that sounds like somethin' highly possible kiddo Im kinda kickin' myself fer not thinkin' o' it. Lets give it a try, maybe I can learn ta like, summon prey ta my mouth~" That'd be fun. Or maybe he could yank enemies right into his grip instead of flinging them away.
Standing and stepping away in worry he'd send something towards Rabbitpaws head if they were side by side, Crowtooth spotted a rock as his target. Then he.... well reached for the wind, not forcing it out of himself but pulling it in. For a time nothing happened, the tom just had a rather constipated look on his face as he tried to figure this out before a flick of air came. A light rustle, coasting across the grass and ending in brushing Crowtooths fur. Then a harder breeze. Then a gust that kicked up the small rock and sent it flying.
...Riiiiiight at the deputies head.
Crowtooth ducked with a yelp, pebble tumbling past before rolling to a stop, evidence that the theory was sound even if the skill was unpolished. The deputy appeared happy despite the near concussion, and he turned to the apprentice with a cheer "Nice thinkin' kiddo! Looks like it works! Gonna need some refinin' but boy the possibilities are endless; prey summonin' if I see it but cant pounce in time, drawin' an enemy inta range.... Any ideas kiddo, we can chat as we head back ta camp." The day was waning after all, conversation basically over, but it was a nice sorta bonding Crowtooth didnt want to let go of, ever appreciating Rabbitpaw's ideas.

Birchfawn padded along, eyes lighting up as they always did when he saw the meadow and it's beauty. He knew his fallen clanmates were in good paws in the stars, but their remains would lie here forever among the wonderful and delicate scents of flowers. The warrior turned to his apprentice and beamed. "Alright Shrikepaw, let's find some Celandine and get back to Lightningstorm. Let's try to get as much as we can carry!"

The warrior turned to his apprentice and beamed. "Alright Shrikepaw, let's find some Celandine and get back to Lightningstorm. Let's try to get as much as we can carry!"
They were off! Hooray! They were going to the meadow! She loved seeing the meadow when Falconbeak showed her around, though she'd been sad that she couldn't run about. Birchfawn seemed a bit more relaxed than that guy, but she knew she still had to be careful and aware of traps. So perhaps running was off the table. Maybe she could run back home, once she knew there were no traps? "We're going to the meadow, the meadow, the meadowww, we're going to the meadow to find some celandine!" She sang as they travelled, springing from side to side with joy. This would be a fun one! And, she'd get to know her new friend-mentor... Friend-or? Frie-ntor? Men-reind? Hm.
They arrived, and she nodded frantically as Birchfawn explained. As much as she could carry, she could do that! "Mhhm, mhhm! We can find so much celandine, that uh, er, we won't know what to do with it all!" She bounced enthusiastically, and began to stare at the floor, with big bulging eyes. Hm. White flowers? No, not those. Blue flowers? No, not those either. They needed yellow flowers! "Aren't these pretty?!" She chirped, nudging a blue flower with her nose. Perhaps she could bug Birchfawn, or anyone, to take her here again, to pick flowers for fun. Oh, but maybe picking flowers was sort of taking away from potential herbs..? Maybe she'd just look at them, then. She trailed along, not going too far. More white flowers - lots of little white ones actually. A few big yellow ones, those definitely weren't celandine, then, gasp! Her eyes fixed on it, right there! Little yellow flowers!
"Birchfall, look, look!" She shouted, calling the warrior over. Maybe it wasn't so much that they didn't know what to do with it, but it was a decent number of flowers! Certainly enough for both of them! "Is this it, is this it?!" She called, running round the bush of blooms in little circles. "Yellow flowers, right?" She took a big sniff - and quickly started sneezing - making sure to turn around, as not to get germs on the fresh herbs. "Yep! Pretty,"sniff, "flowery!" The apprentice giggled, and plucked a few stems.
[+3 Celandine]
[capping her at 3 because she's prolly still too small to carry 5 things LOL]
