What was she? Like 9 moons now? Ain't that plenty grown- or so she thought. Plenty grown, yet the slender dusky apprentice was probably still behind in training compared to her siblings. They have a whole moon or to ahead of her, don't they? Augh- this is such a pain. Rookpaw wished she hadn't been so stupid and didn't get confined in the nursery for a whole 'nother moon.

But Mother's words were law. Plus, better yet, she could prove herself worthy by catching up and learning the needed skills faster than them all. The slender she-cat scoffed at that thought and lashed her tail sharply as she exited the apprentice den. Bright light shone into her eyes, and the soft, cool New-leaf breeze lightened her mood. As if her siblings would stand down and give her a chance to catch up. All of them were too prideful for that.

In the clearing, the slender apprentice spotted someone- who was he again? Wasn't he her sister's mentor? No clue what his name was, but he better be treating her well. Rookpaw stalked up to the black speckled tom and bluntly spoke. "You're Coldpaw's mentor, right?"

"You teach tunneling...ground stuff?" She continued, her mismatched eyes didn't leave, instead it stared down the warrior- tunneler.

Vinesmoke looked up from where he had been grooming ah an apprentice he seemed to be a magnet for them these days though he wouldnt complain. He honestly needed the distraction and he had prided himself on being the base for so many new tunnelers. However something that he was staring to get fed up with was attitudes he wasnt their scratching post so he would just have to see how she treated him. “I am..im guessing your her sister?..I can teach you how to tunnel ” he then motioned for her to follow him

"Yeah...Rookpaw." she responded quickly, slightly surprised he could even tell. Afterall, the slender apprentice hadn't inherit any of the long furred, bulky genes most of her siblings were blessed with. If she did, the slender she-cat wouldn't have this odd complex she had with her body. It wasn't one or the other. Just normal, and she despised it. If even by chance, she was a little similar to Mother, she was just a weaker version. And stars does she hate it so.

"You'll teach me tunneling?" Her mismatched eyes reflected a clear amusement. "I'm a warrior's apprentice, not a tunneler's. Stars, I can't even comprehend the appeal of rummaging in the grounds of WindClan."

"But I suppose if Mother finds you all important and many of my siblings are interested in such...skills... I guess it's ... worth the shot." She spoke a little bluntly, a little hesitant at the end. Tunnels and tight spaces weren't exactly her go to activities. But come on, how hard could it be? She can't cower in fear at a tunnel, that's utterly pathetic and far from the warrior she wanted to be.
