Spottedpaw felt something stir in her stomach uncomfortably when she heard what the plan with these cats was going to be. So they were forcibly put there and by the sounds of it unfed by the Twolegs, maybe an assumption, and her clan was to drive them out cruelly? Just like that? Just because they dared to be born. Something in her gut told her that this wasn't going to end up being peaceful talks and that her clan was going to drive them out no matter what.

"Twilightstar I have a concern... If it took ten cats to satisfy the twolegs how are we to know that just one measly cat will satisfy them exactly? How do we know that they won't just resort to going and trapping our clan members to try and fill the void... And well at that point harm them for using claws and teeth to get back to the clan?" Maybe she didn't know the exact level of greed Twolegs had in their hearts but given what they had done to the forest and all it was safe to assume they were only driven by greed itself. "I mean no disrespect or anything, but I'm just concern about safety. Hell if they bring back ten more cats who's to say they won't be blood thirsty instead?"

Crowbones ears perked as he padded up to Twilightstar. "I'd like to tag along. I've got a fair share of experience with loners myself." The large tom grunted.

Vinesmoke stood near the edge of the clearing, tail flicking with restless energy. Windrose’s name echoed in his ears. A warrior now. His apprentice. He’d done it. A few older warriors had glanced his way during the ceremony, and he caught one or two quiet murmurs about how “young” he was to have taken on an apprentice so soon. That had followed him since the day he’d been given Windpaw. But now it was Windrose. And no one could argue with that. When she spotted him and waved her tail with a bright “thank you,” he didn’t hesitate. For once, he moved with purpose. He padded over confidently, still calm, but standing a little taller than usual. “Windrose,” he said, dipping his head. “You did great out there.” He looked around briefly—made sure a few other cats could see him talking to her. Not to show off, but just… to be recognized. He’d worked hard, too. “You’ve earned that name. Every bit of it. I’m proud of you. I mean that.” He paused, then gave her a small but real smile. “You made me look good.” That was half a joke. Mostly. “I know some cats thought I wasn’t ready to mentor anyone yet,” he said, a little lower now. “But they were wrong. You proved that.” He flicked his tail, quiet pride in his posture now. “You’re going to be a great warrior. I knew it the whole time.” Then, just a bit more softly: “Thanks for trusting me.” Before he could step back, his eyes landed on Littlebug, standing nearby—still beaming, but quieter than her sister. He turned to her with a gentler tone, voice still calm but full of genuine warmth. “And you, Littlebug,” he said, dipping his head to her as well. “Your name suits you.” “You’ve come into your own. Not everyone does that without making noise about it.” He offered her a small smile, quieter than the one he gave Windrose, but just as real “I’m glad I was here to see it. You deserve this.” Then his gaze shifted again—to Fleetflash. “Fleetflash,” he said, taking a step closer. “Congratulations. Your name’s a good fit—especially for a tunneler.” There was a flicker of something a little brighter in Vinesmoke’s eyes now—genuine excitement, rare but clear. “I’ve heard good things about your training. I’m glad we’ll be working together more now.” He gave Fleetflash a respectful nod, then looked back to the group as a whole “You all did great today. Really.” He stepped back a bit, still close enough to be part of the moment—but now, for once, comfortably visible. Proud. And maybe even a little hopeful for what came next.

Listening to the rest of the meeting, the newly named warrior’s ears perked up at the mention of meeting the barn cats. It’s been a very long time since he had seen any cats that weren’t from WindClan, and looked forwards to it. Starting near the leader, he waited for others to join.

Twilightstar’s words left him feeling awfully chilly, the thought that cats would live with two-legs side by side just seemed so wrong. It was something he couldn’t ever have imagined to possibly be true, did they hurt the barn cats like they hurt clan cats? He couldn’t help but feel awfully sorry for them if they were living a life of fear.

Chasing them away would be a blessing in disguise, there was a part of him that felt guilty and useless because of his injury. He should be there to help it happen, to help drive them away and make sure that no one else succumbed to an injury. He hoped that the cats could be given a place in the clan like himself, and experience a better life.

As the meeting was dismissed he slowly raised up and shook out his fur, he couldn’t help but linger though for a moment or two. Gently stuttering out a heartfelt good luck and a prayer to Starclan that they returned safe.

Moorsong stepped up to Twilightstar as the meeting concluded. "I would like to join the patrol back to the hills," the small she-cat mewed quietly. She had experience with the barn cats, and she hoped that they would leave on their own accord. However, part of her felt that it wouldn't be so easy.

Leechscar caught the tail end of the meeting. Twilightstar was calling for cats to help deal with barn cats. The fury didn't care whether he went along or not, he silently stepped up after hearing a few of his siblings speak up. If they were going, he was coming, if nothing more than to keep an eye on them. Plus, Crowtooth was not going, and the cats who volunteered, none of them, he trusted with his mother's life. His ears perked up at Spottedpaw's question; they were fair. He bet he already knew his mother's answers, but didn't speak on her behalf.

Ferncurl nodded. Ah, so interesting.

Dreamheart flicked her tail over one of her nephews to keep him from moving.

Daykit huffed as his aunt's tail went over his face.

Tigerkit giggled with it's family.

Twilightstar sat down as cats slowly joined her at the base of the galewood. She got more cats than she was asking for. Crowtooth had said there were only ten barn cats, so she should bring equal numbers and a few extra just in case. Leechscar and Dapplebreeze were automatically added to the patrol, having the two furies tag along put her mind at ease.

"Dapplebreeze, Leechscar, Birchfawn, Whiterabbit, Shrikepaw, Rookpaw, Shademist, Gracklepaw, Gnawingpaw, Echosong, and Moorsong." Twelve cats might seem like a little much, but since four were apprentices without battle experience, she'd rather be safe than sorry. She was more worried bout their dog than the barns.

Rookpaw and Shrikepaw, stay close to your brother, and Gracklpaw and Gnawingpaw don't stray from your grandmother's side. Twilightstar meowed to the apprentices before turning to look at Jaggedpaw.

She padded over and booped her apprentice on the nose with hers now that she had his attention. "You and I will visit the barn later, so you'll sit this patrol out." She informed him. Once she got Beast settled into the farm, she had plans to visit him and see if hunting in the barn was as good as the patrol had said it would be. If he found some flaw or weakness that WindClan could exploit, that would be great too. Jaggedpaw wasn't hiding his disdain for inviting outsiders into the clan very well; she didn't think he would, but he's already proven to have a penchant for aggression and fighting within the clan. She didn't want him acting out during the patrol.

She needed to get to know him better before she trusted him with more important stuff like this. The little ankle-biter seemed to have a bit of an ego; who better to humble him than his clan leader and now mentor? She hoped he'd settle down a bit more now that he had her as his mentor. Being her apprentice came with bragging rights and whatnot, but he would have to start thinking before acting. Any trouble he caused would reflect badly on the leader.

"My knowledge of barn cats isn't as great as I would like, but from what I've heard, most twolegs only keep one or two barn cats on their territory at a time. Ten is excessive, but I believe the twolegs brought in extra because of us. I hope the loner I bring in will be impressive enough that the twolegs won't try to replace the ones they lost. But even if they do, I'd bet mice that he'd be able to clear out any other barn cats that twolegs try to bring in." She told Spottedpaw.

"The twolegs aren't trapping us to make us barn cats. None of our lost clanmates were reported to be seen around the farm or by any of the barn cats. None of the cats who returned from being captured were injured at all, either." Twilightstar stated patiently and sat down.

"As for them bringing in more blood-thirsty cats... We'll deal with them. I truly don't think any barn cats they bring in will be worse than challenging our rival clans." She doubted barn cats skin their enemies or torture apprentices, but they'll be chased off like the others, regardless of their strength.

"I understand your safety concerns, but I can't have WindClan sit idly while twolegs steal territory from us. It's no different from how we fight with any other threat or predators that challenge us; we fight." Some of them get injured and some die, but that is the warrior way of life.

"I don't know what trouble the twolegs will bring, but we'll deal with it as it comes, like we do with all our problems." She assured the apprentice and then glanced at the remaining cats to see if anyone else had any questions.

"Crowbones, Ashgrove, Snowybreeze, and Lightnight, I don't care if it's done in shifts, but I would appreciate one or two of you standing guard at the entrance until the patrol returns in case I need to send one of the apprentices back for reinforcements." The four could join that patrol if Crowtooth okayed it.

Crowbones blinked at the command, nodding simply as the large cat slunk towards the entrance, his long muzzle turning to behind him. "I can take the first shift, we can splut it off into morning, noon, evening and night." He grunted towards the others who had been assigned guard duty.
