"Well, of course I know a story about her!" Ashkit had never heard that name before in his life.

The grey kit cleared his throat. "So, settle in and let me tell you all about Vixenclaw and the rat war!" Ashkit said, jumping back to his paws dramatically. "Many moons ago, not long after Vixenclaw earned her warrior name, she and another warrior, Foghaze, were on patrol together!"

Darkkit, just sat beside her sister Maplekit, as she perked her ears.
Maplekit smiled and flicked her ears.

"It was a cloudy day, with the cold leaf-bare biting their paws," Ashkit continued. "Foghaze went ahead of Vixenclaw and the rest of the patrol as they checked Shadowclan's outskirts border, he saw them..." Ashkit paused for dramatic effect.

"It was, like, a whole river of rats! So many that Foghaze couldn't count them all, and they were heading straight for camp! So, he ran back to the patrol as fast as he could to warn them. Him and Vixenclaw came up with a plan to save the clan.

"While Foghaze led the patrol to ambush the rats, Vixenclaw ran back to camp, because she was the fastest cat in all of the clans!" Ashkit proclaimed, telling his story as though it were true and not based off of a dream he had the night before. "Foghaze and the patrol fought with the powers of starclan behind them, beating the rats back, but it wasn't long before they were surrounded..."

Silentmutter padded into the Elders Den, blue and green eyes flashing around. The huge tom-cat easily dwarfed everyone in the den, even his father, who was also quite large. "Mudburr," He rumbled softly, almost a whisper. He went over to the old brown tom, smiling slightly. Silent had long, cream coloured fur with dark brown tabby patches and a scar on his hip. Ignoring the other Elders, (apart from respectful nods as he passed), he sat down by his father. "How are you?" The big brown tom lifted his head from his paws, gaze following the approaching warrior. His pupils remained sharp, even for his son, but it's not like they ever changed for anyone. There was question as to whether they were capable of widening at all, but, if they were, it was likely not something Silentmutter had ever seen, or could probably imagine.

Mudburr's chin tuft brushed against his paws as he greeted Silentmutter with a nod. Name not spoken, but the returned gesture no less respectful. "Well." He answered simply.
The tom had never been one to talk much either. It could be because being a quiet warrior complimented his skills in stealth and observation, but it also seemed to be a core trait of his own personality. Mudburr wondered if that's the reason Silentmutter and him were so alike.

"And yourself?" The elder questioned, pushing himself up from a lying position to join his son in sitting. He was a big cat already, but Silentmutter was even more-so. Right now they were both sitting with lowered heads to avoid the roof, which was surely going to get uncomfortable for the both of them soon enough.

Silentmutter twitched his lips briefly in a smile-like gesture, then shuffled his massive paws. "I am good." He muttered, lying down to stretch his neck a little and then sitting up again, annoyed at having to stoop. "They should make the dens bigger." He whispered with a twitch of his cream colored ear.

"Mm." Mudburr rumbled in response, watching as his son stretched and returned to sitting. The elder hadn't bent or shifted from his own position, despite his neck uncomfortably bowed also.

Silentmutter's complaint was true, but without Shadowclan's leader or high ranks addressing it it didn't exist to Mudburr. Just another habit of the elder's, serving as a living remainder of Shadowclan's past, one his son never knew of.

His eyes slid past Silentmutter, focusing on the entrance. "The clearing might be more suitable for this," he mumbled, standing up to move.
