The wobbly tom winced from where he was watching the meetings. Why was it that his mother was so certain on making mayhem wherever she went? So much drama and it wasn't even for a narrative purpose, it was just to make drama and Caterpillarkit was not into that idea. So much was already on his shoulders, like being broken and having ten million thousand new kin and everything else that is happening inside of his family. It was so so so so sosososososoooooo annoying actually. But here he was, watching as Primroseadder went after some random warrior- actually scratch that- as Primroseadder ruined Claypaw's first impression with her mentor.
It wasn't crazy to be a little snippy about what people called you, and for the record Duskclaw was barely even snippy at all hello?? He just told Claypaw to call him 'big guy' and honestly if anyone called Caterpillarkit 'big guy' or more likely 'little guy' he wouldn't be very happy about it either. Though thoughts were thoughts and Caterpillarkit wasn't about to put himself into the situation and would rather live in anonymity from the whole thing... which being his mother's copy didn't really make that very easy. Ugh.
Caterpillarkit rolled his eyes.. did the big bad warrior hurt your feewings, Claypaw? What a joke and way to demean your precious sister, mom.

Wow... It was her turn to be apprenticed. Finally. Star glanced over and Bramblekit's question, a little late, and purred at his playbow. "No. The scratches are from when I fell in the thorn bush in the clearing- remember? You tried to help me." The inky black she-kit licked the ginger tom's head, and then padded forward, limp barely noticeable. Her white eye patch, and the tiny trail of mini white stars on her face, crinkled and glimmered from both the light and her movements. White-socked leg reach up to groom her face and ears quickly, before Nightkit sat down, towards the back of the apprentices. 'I can do this...' Nightkit thought, flicking her tail to nervously curl it around her paws. Star glanced back at Bramblekit, one more time, washed-out and faded blue eyes bright, before turning back to Owlstar. She was ready.

Oh, she was called up by Owlstar. Bramblekit waved his tail and grinned at his friend. "Ohmygosh, are ya gettin' to be apprenticed?" He asked, not that he was sure she would answer since she was already going to sit before Owlstar already. How exciting! He wished he could be an apprentice already...

"Don't call me that." Duskclaw's voice had a slight growl to it. He clearly wasn't a fan of nicknames. Upon hearing Claypaw's request to learn about swimming the rusty colossus leaned down to try and match Claypaw's eyeline. Claypaw was as big to him as a rat is to a normal cat. "You can't swim yet?"

Her words were interrupted by Primroseadder coming... to the rescue? Claypaw slouched a little, head tilted in confusion. "Priiiim, I just called him tall. He's ain't even that upset about it!" Amber eyes looked at Duskclaw, as if his expression would clearly show her to be right. "It's fine. Dunno how he'd hurt my feelings. We were just about to talk 'bout trainin' and stuff. You should be glad 'bout that!"

ahahah!! apprentice time! finally, it was time for him and his siblings to get the chance to learn cool stuff, like fighting. and explore the territory without it being against the rules! heck yeah!!
strutting through the crowd, lotuskit flashes his ma and pa a grin before settling beside his two brothers. "'ay, I think we should see who can become a warrior the fastest!" he challenges with a giggle. "obviously, it's gonna be me, but still,"
Heroneye's ears perked as the apprentices approached her. Spiderpaw, a cat she already given battle training to, and another apprentice--Sprucepaw, if she remember correctly. She had yet to interact with the former, but she did her best to at least remember her Clanmates' names when she could. The former was asking for some further battle training, and Heroneye couldn't help but be a bit surprised by her request. Most apprentices were content with a formal battle lesson, and most were able to pass their warrior ceremonies with only that.
All this to say that she was pleased to see Spiderpaw going out of her way to better herself. She was also interested to see what Sprucepaw brought to the table; it wasn't often she taught multiple apprentices at once, so it may be a helpful exercise to have them spar with each other, or even have them tag-team Heroneye...
Heroneye's mind was already racing with ideas for their lesson, and she realized a beat too late that she still hadn't answered their question. "Of course, Spiderpaw," Heroneye replied evenly with a single nod of her head. "And Sprucepaw, yes? All apprentices are welcome to ask me for training whenever they'd like."
She turned to Sprucepaw, her eyes narrowing slightly as she slipped back into mentor-mode. "Have you had any battle training yet?" She wanted to have an idea of what sort of skill level she might be starting out with. Spiderpaw had faired quite well with the more advanced lesson Heroneye had given last time, and it only made sense to continue to ramp up the difficulty for her. That being said, she didn't want to cater to one of them while ignoring the needs of the other.

Duskclaw stood back up so he could tower over Primroseadder. If they were somewhere where the entirety of RiverClan wasn't watching them then he would have more choice words for the she-cat, but for now he bit his tongue and reserved himself to more passive aggressive wording. "I will take your words into consideration." Which wasn't exactly a lie. He did consider her words for a full 2 heartbeats before deciding he didn't care.
He turned back to Claypaw, leaning down a bit to seem less imposing. It doesn't really work. "If your older sister is finished assaulting my ears with her voice, we should start training immediately. Being able to swim is what makes RiverClan different from the savage 'Clans' across the river."
ivykit had padded out of the nursery when big star yelled for the clan but got distracted on the way, chasing a grasshopper through the shrub and ultimately losing it when he stumbled into the small stream. with leaves and dust stuck to his soaked pelt, the kit finally found his way towards the already gathered crowd. apprentices were told their mentors, claypaw - what is clay? - to duskclaw. they sounded cool! bright green eyes scanned the clearing rapidly for a dark scary cat before losing track when big star continued. aspenpaw and fogmask - another impressive sounding cat! - copperpaw and addergnaw. wow did all warriors have big scary names? the queens he met all had soft and warm names like flowers! maybe they got to have a nice sweet name while they were in the nursery... patchpaw and pedpounce - that one sounded as red as copperpaw did! maybe he could spot either of them hmmm.
small paws moved on their own as he turned his head to look up at the cats, only coming to a ungraceful halt when he bumped into a cat. "sorry! whats your name?" he apologised briefly before his eyes lit up, realising it was a big cat!
what?? he got an apprentice?? HECK YEAH! he was so stoked man! "sup patchpaw!! i promise i won't be a bad mentor." honestly he did not expect this at all. patchpaw seemed quiet- when red thought of what it would be like to get an apprentice he would imagine a small cat eagerly introducing themself, but that didn't happen. that's fine though as long as they didn't suck or something
meanwhile, vine listened halfheartedly to the assignments. after the assignments she usually paid full attention, but she did not need to for the ceremonies. she still listened for her name, as always, but it was not brought up. as they wrapped up, a kit bumped into her. "it is fine. i'm vinepaw."

"Big sis Prim's just a worrier." Claypaw said nonchalantly. She glanced at Primroseadder and smiled, hardly seeming to care about how much her new mentor towered over her. The whole little feud, in her mind, was over as quickly as it started. Her ears perked at the mention of starting training right away. "Oh, oh yes! Been wanting to learn for forever!"
She quickly got to her feet before pausing. Wait, she almost forgot something. Her family! Well, the family outside of her big sister. "Wait, how's about once the apprentice stuff's done? Like, right after. Wanna know who's gonna mentor Prim's kits. Promise I won't cheer for too long."

"Yes, Sprucepaw." She confirmed with a shallow bob of her head. Sprucepaw couldn't help but feel relief that the request for training was so readily accepted. Oh but she couldn't let that be a reason for her to slouch! She made sure that she stood just a bit taller, though it ended up making her look rather stiff. "So far I only know some basics moves, but please don't let it stop you from wanting to teach us something! I'm a quick study, promise. And it should be good to have a challenge..." Really, she didn't want to hold back Heroneye or Spiderpaw.
