Cederpaw was in the clearing, silently picking out a warrior who could help him learn fighting. He was extremely close to being able to take his assessment. Just battle and then a patrol, and he should be able to take his assessment and become a warrior!

Of course, it was easier said then done. He didn't trust most of the warriors to teach him correctly or to even follow up on the training. The apprentice eyed one of the cats in the clearing, a brown and white tabby named Wolfdrizzle (he thought at least).

Cedar padded over to the tom, putting on a brave face. He could do it. It wasn't that hard, right?

"E-Excuse me, could you teach m-me fighting?"

Wolfdrizzle sat in the clearing as he groomed his soft fur. Underneath his leg 3 times. One, two, three. Ok. Now the other side. One, two, three. Ok. The tom had finished his cleaning ritual when an apprentice approached him. Battle? Well, yes. Sure he could. Battle wasn't his strong suit exactly. He wasn't by any means bad. He obviously became a warrior. "Uhh.. sure! We can head out now." The warrior said, shaking out his strangely colored pelt before smiling at the apprentice. Wolfdrizzle let the pair out of camp, his tail flicking. Where to go...Twilight Falls..? Nah. Too loud. Sunset Grove..maybe. Or he could ask the apprentice. "Where'd you wanna go to do this?" Wolfdrizzle asked as they walked, heterochromatic eyes landing on Cedarpaw.

"S-Sunset Grove works f-fine for me," Cedarpaw mewed, following behind the warrior as they traveled to Sunset Grove. See, he did it! And it wasn't (that) hard.

Okay, now he just had to prepare himself to learn an entirely new skill. Not that bad, honestly. He had some time to learn. As he walked, Cedar thought about his assessment. Without a mentor, he would have to pick a warrior to do his assessment. Even though it wasn't super close, he should start thinking. It is very important.

Wolfdrizzle nodded, staying silent most of the way to Sunset Grove. The warrior stopped at the woodland, turning the the apprentice. Now. He could either ambush him and see how he responded, which would be a good route learning wise to see what he knew OR he could ask. Less fun, but okay. Plus, this kid might just be crushed underneath the large tom. Wolfdrizzle streched, his muscles rippling beneath his pelt before sitting up again and turning towards Cedarpaw. "So. What do ya know so far? Any basic moves?" The tom asked, tilting his head. "Like the uh- front paw blow er whatever? That's pretty simple, eh?" Wolfdrizzle said, glancing around the area to judge how rough they could get with this lesson.

Okay.... What did he know? Neither of his mentors had taught him anything, but he could remember one of the apprentices showing him something when he was a kit. It was probably that front paw blow thing that Wolfdrizzle was talking about.

"I-I know that, but n-nothing else really..." the tom mumbled, his gaze shifting downward. It wasn't his fault! His mentors didn't want to teach him anything!

Wolfdrizzle nodded. "Alrighty! No biggie, we can do this!" The tom assured the apprentice. He went around in a circle, brushing away leaves with his tail. Awh damn it. He'd have to groom his tail again later. The tom huffed. Whatever. Wolfdrizzle resumed his previous spot before sending a grin at Cedarpaw. "I'll teach ya some things and then you can test them out." Wolfdrizzle said with a firm nod, his tail flicking. After he presumably got an answer, Wolfdrizzle jumped into explaining simple moves. "Okay! So this one is another forepaw move. It's called a..whatever you wanna call it, I dunno. Forepaw slash is what I'm gonna call it. So you bring down your forepaw down, as hard as you can, upon your opponent. Either here–" He tapped the apprentices shoulder. "Orr here–" Wolfdrizzle then placed a paw on his head. "Or in their face. Now, you have your claws unsheathed for this one, not like the other forepaw one. Not on me, though." The tom explained, flexing his claws as he shook out his pelt. Whatever. He was gonna pin him, the kid will be fine. Hopefully he knew how to get him off, even with instinct. Wolfdrizzle, with no warning, leapt at Cedarpaw and pinned him down by his shoulders.

Cedarpaw followed along with what Wolfdrizzle was saying, paying attention to where that other forepaw move was supposed to hit. It would probably be very helpful in the future. You would never know when you might need to fight.

He was surprised when Wolfdrizzle pinned him down, but it wasn't too unexpected. It was supposed to be a battle training anyway. He panicked for a half-second before instinct kicked in, and he kicked at the larger cat's stomach.

Wolfdrizzle let out an oomph as Cedarpaw kicked his stomach. The force wasn't enough to send him flying or anything like that, but it was enough to loosen his grip and throw him back off Cedarpaw. The warrior gave his stomach a few quick licks before looking back at the younger cat, his eyes bright. "Great job, Cedarpaw! A solid kick like that will give ya an upper paw!" He praised Cedarpaw, tail lashing behind him. "Now, next time, try to keep that hesitation short as possible. Things can happen in that small second, as absurd as that seems." Wolfdrizzle told Cedarpaw. He didn't have any moves to teach him exactly, so, why not tell him to give him what he's got? Won't be too painful (or, at least Wolfdrizzle is praying to Starclan it won't be), and he could teach and make improvements! "Cedarpaw! Give me whatever you've got! I won't fight back yet, unless ya want to for experience." Wolfdrizzle told the apprentice, bracing himself with a grin.

Cedarpaw practically beamed. He did good! He noted Wolfdrizzle's advice to not hesitate, taking every piece to heart. Maybe he'd learn enough to spar with Cardinal... He would love to spend more with the other apprentice and they seemed to be getting along very well.

Okay, now he was going to spar with Wolfdrizzle. Hopefully he would be good at that, because he's never spared with anyone before. Cedar nodded, deciding to use that front paw blow thing he just learned. His paw, with claws sheathed, landed on Wolf's shoulder.

Wolfdrizzle grunted as Cedarpaw hit down upon his shoulder. Solid paws on this one. He grinned. "Good! But you can do better than that, cmon kid!" They countered with a smile. He cuffed his paw over the toms ears. "Get your opponents ears for a quick move. It stings like hell, and you'll freak out most inexperienced cats. Don't let it freak you if someone gets ya." With that, Wolfdrizzle stood back, bracing himself again. That was going to happen a lot throughout the lesson. Wolfdrizzle didn't have the best memory so they'd be stopping a lot to put in something.
