Silverdusk lay in the clearing, enjoying a small mouse she had caught on a hunting trip. She had returned with multiple mice, and was glad to finally be eating. The queen's blue gaze looked around the clearing, taking in the business of the Clan.
MOSSTANGLE
Shadowclan Warrior | 20 moons | Large, dark brown-and-white tabby she-cat with green eyes
~~~
Mosstangle yawned and stretched as she stepped out of the warriors den, then sat to groom her pelt in the sun for a little while. Business as usual, cats moved about their day around the clearing. Going hunting. Going out to relax in the territory, or just staying in the clearing. Her tail swished behind her as emerald hues scanned.
Oh, there was a warrior that she never really got the chance to talk to.
Mosstangle was in the mood for some conversation, so she picked out a nice, plump mouse from the fresh-kill pile and padded over to Silverdusk. "Mind some company?" She mewed, dipping her head in greeting to the silver molly.
Silverdusk's eyes narrowed out of curiosity as the she-cat approached her. Apparently she looked approachable. She needed to change that. She gave a sigh before speaking, pointing with her nose to a spot in front of her. "I suppose I could use some," she mewed dryly. The queen recognized the she-cat, one who had failed at driving a fox pup out of the grotto. She didn't judge however. She didn't know the circumstances, therefore it wasn't her place to judge.
"Enjoy the mouse," she mewed. "I caught a good 5 of 'em earlier, they were everywhere,". The silver and black molly shifted slightly, trying to adjust and be more comfortable. Her sapphire gaze fixed on the mouse in front of her, hunger vanishing as she took a few more bites.
[Okay, so before anyone else decides to throw themselves in this hole, going to have Dawn pop in here. Feel free to correct me, but from what I understand, the hole is further in the back of camp, and directly in front of the medicine den, since Sleepy nearly fell in as soon as she stepped outside.]
She tried hard to nap, but the yowling from outside made that impossible. So Dawnstar got up with her hackles lifted and lips peeling back in an aggravated snarl. The dark tabby shoves her way through the lichen so aggressively that a couple come tumbling to the ground behind her. Sadly, she was never going to get that nap.
Her snarl droops into a heavy frown as she stares at the large hole a few tail lengths ahead of her. It ate up the ground in front of the medicine den. If Dawnstar didn't know any better, she'd be worried that ShadowClan was dealing with sinkholes. Yet, she did know better and knew exactly who to blame for this mess.
"Scorpionpaw, stop yowling." Flames of anger ripped through the clan leader so aggressively that her order came out as lifeless and bitter as the meanest leafbare. Dawnstar's temper had always burned hot, intense, immediate, and often explosive. Yet, when it came to the cold, controlled, simmering, and eerily calm, that is when cats knew they messed up, big time. The mother could tolerate many of her kits' antics and stupidity; however, when those antics began endangering their clanmates or destroying her camp, well, that's when they're reminded that she was also their clan leader.
She paced a few paw steps out of her den, muscles stiff, and tail lashing sharply through the air. She didn't dare step closer to the edge cavity; she couldn't see how stable the ground was from where she was standing, but a glance at the other side of the hole, where Scorpoinpaw was yowling from had the leader tensing her muscles and leaping over gap to land a few tail lengths behind the younger she-cat rather than simply walking around the hollow.
The large leader turns and gingerly stands at the edge of the abyss, her muscles built up with so much extra tension that her pelt twitches along her flank. Her pupils dilate to the point where they nearly eat up the entire iris, taking in as much light as possible to see the three cats stuck in the hole. Houndpaw, as expected, Ashpaw, unexpected, and Sleepysunrise, unsurprised. Considering how much trouble the medicine cat's been getting up to as of late, it made sense she'd be in the hole with them.
"Are you alright?" With the fuss Scorpionpaw was made, you'd think one of them had cracked open their head. She smelled the musky, damp scent of dirt, nothing metallic in the air. So no one was bleeding...yet.
Moonkit was busy washing nearby, oblivious to whatever happened nearby. But she did hear Dawnstar yowl. She nearly just glanced over once, then returned to wash her fur.
<Moonkit grey pointed white she-cat with milky green eyes and an always calm aditiude, as if a senior warrior, but in reality she was only a kit. 10 moons old>
Pinekit was in the clearing, but then left to the nursery before Dawnstar started talking to him or something.
Archcall didn't pay any mind to the yowling happening by the medicine den. She wasn't going to bother with it, that would just ruin their peace, well alone time.
Shadepaw slunk out of the apprentice den, heading for the fresh-kill pile, when suddenly a howl ripped through her ears. She jumped, dark fur bristling, then got angry at herself for jumping, and swiveled her head in the direction where the noise had come from. A shriek from an apprentice rushing over to the direction of the howl made her jump again, made her angry again. What in the Dark Forest??
Slinking closer to the commotion, hidden by the shadows, she saw a couple of cats—the apprentice from earlier, and Dawnstar herself—peering into a dark, gaping hole near the medicine den. She could smell three cats inside of the hole, but couldn’t glean anything else from her vantage point. Irritation and alarm spiked her fur. Shadepaw didn't know why there was a hole inside the camp walls, or why there were cats inside if it, but she certainly wasn't going to do nothing about it (unless Dawnstar or another warrior told her otherwise), unlike her clanmates who seemed determined to ignore the problem. She shot a baleful look to Archcall and Lynxpelt.
Shadepaw slipped out of the shadows, padding closer, but not too close. The leader made her wary. She didn't announce her presence, but she was there just in case it was needed. Amber gaze watched Dawnstar and the apprentice and the hole, waiting until someone either told her to go away or told her to help. She could see flickers of movement down there, now—definitely cats in there.
With Dawnstar and Sleepysunrise in their dens (the tom having recently branches out to stalk his sister in addition to his clingyness with the leader) Bleedingpaw had been enjoying a rather relaxed day in the clearing for once, soaking up some sun. For all he felt he had to constantly work to be worth it he did deserve a break.....
Until, of course. Houndpaw.
HOUNDPAW DAMMIT!!!!!! Bleedingpaw was nearly up to here with that kid and was inches from involving Rookfire in a plot to kitnap and drown kindly teach the kid to swim in punishment. It'd be for the good of shadowclan.
Because where Houndpaw got in trouble Scorprionpaw followed and oh look even Sleepypaw was in on it. From his perch on a log he could see it wasnt that deep so yeah no, sorry sis, you were on your own be in the hole for being stupid enough to not ignore Houndpaw.
Snorting at the call of his name the tom huffed a flat "Dont involve me in this Scorps I am NOT dealing with whatever this mess is. Theyre fine, its not harmful, they can climb and then fix the mess before Dawnstar learns about whatever you did to her camp." Though perhaps it was too late for this as, peaking out from under the golden tail he'd flipped over his head to ignore this mess and continue sun basking he spotted the irate leader leave her den. Hah well it was long overdue for a lesson he supposed; if it wasnt a real issue getting involved would only doom you to be on clean up. And Bleedingpaw liked these cats enough to step in if it was serious but not enough to ruin his sun nap time to get his pretty spotted pelt dirty thank you.
Nope he was 'asleep', a single slitted blue eye occasionally peaking out from under a tail to watch the show.
