A dark-striped shape padded into the nursery, wrinkling her nose. She… disliked the place. Full of bumbling energetic pathetic whiny kits… Tch. Shadepaw didn’t like to deal with kits, didn’t even like to be in the same room as them. But she had to bring this prey to the nursery because Rookfire had told her to, and she wasn’t about to disobey him. One day, it’ll be me ordering the apprentices around… She savored the thought, letting it be a dark silver lining to her day. And maybe, who knows, one of these kits could be her apprentice when she’s a warrior. It might be a good idea to get to know them… As much as she disliked that idea.
Shadepaw set the two gleaming fish down onto the mossy ground, remembering with a burst of pride how she had caught them, both of them, on her first try. That’s the kind of success I need. If she could do it once, she could do it again. She had to. But right now she needed to actually say what she was doing here with the fish.
“Kits and queens,” she started. Ugh, was that right? What was she supposed to say? I come bearing prey sounded too stuffy and formal. She huffed slightly before continuing. “Anyone want to try some fish?” she asked stiffly. That didn’t sound great, either. Her black ear twitched in annoyance. How was she supposed to be a leader if she couldn't even address her cats?
Now what? Should she just… sit and wait, to see if anyone’s interested? That sounded boring, and she had more important stuff to do anyways, but she supposed she had to. Sharp amber gaze flicked across the nursery, seeing whether anyone would accept her offering.

Shadowclan Kit ~ 2 moons ~ She/Her
"Where did I put it again... Wait. What were we talking about?"
Sunrisekit forgot was she was doing. One moment, the black and cream speckled kit was doing.. something... and now she was confused. Sunrise flicked her gradient white tail, cream marks shifting like stars, and padded in a circle. "Moonrisekit... Was I doing something before?" She asked, turning her green eye towards her twin sister. They looked exactly the same, except for two, crucial differences. Moon had silver specks where Sun had cream, and their eye colours were swapped around. Sunrisekit could see Moon in their nest. Her green eye showed the colours, her white, blind eye showed vague, blurry black and grey movements. Her fluffy tail swished behind her, as the kit bounded over to her twin.

A wide yawn split Moonrisekit's maw as she heard her twin's question. Was she doing something? Of course she was. Sunrisekit was always doing something. And, of course, Moony remembered. "You lost your feather again..." The black she-kit mewed with a swish of her fluffy, white, silver speckled tail. Her folded ear twitched as her good eye sought out the fluffy thing.
She found feathers awfully boring, but if Sunny liked them, then she would help her find them. "It was the red feather you were looking for, right?" Moony asked as she rose from the nest and padded over to her pacing sister. How did she lose a bright red feather? The silver-specked she-kit could understand if it was one of her black or grey feathers, they blended in fairly well... but the red cardinal feather?

Her feather.. Riiighhttt! "Yes! Yes, the Cardinal Feather. Thank you, Moon." Sunrisekit purred, turning in a circle as her good eyes searched for the bright red feather. The speckled she-kit followed her twin, pale green eye sweeping the ground, milky white one unfocused but still searching. Her folded ears twitched, and the fluffy black kit suddenly pounced on their neighbors nest. Inside, just underneath the side, was her feather! "Moonrisekit, I found it!" Sunrisekit giggled, swishing her large, fluffy white tail. She picked it up and carried it over to her other feathers, before turning around. "Want to play, sister?" Sun asked eagerly, not noticing at all when her fluffy tail swished, and swept all the feathers into a big mess behind her.

Oh, good. Moony didn't need to search for anything. The black kit yawned again, baring her sharp little kitten teeth as Sunny stowed her feather away. What a silly thing to collect. Most feathers all looked the same to her, but bones? She could tell apart most prey bones in her collection with uncomfortable ease. At least, someone once told her it made them uncomfortable as she explained the differences between a mouse skull and a vole skull. It might've been Sunny who said that, actually.
To each their own.
"Play?" Moony tilted her head and thought for a moment. Then she crouched with a swishing tail. "Yeah, why don't we play rogue versus deputy?" She purred, narrowing her eyes and trying to analyze the exact distance she would need to pounce if her twin sister took a step closer so she could halt any attack. "I can play the rogue." She offered as her tail lashed with playful energy. It was usually her choice, since there was something dangerous and scary about rogues in every story she'd ever heard about them.
