"Weepingpaw!"

The Commander called into the Apprentices' Den. It was fairly early in the morning, he simply wanted to get the training started and done with before they wasted another day doing nothing. "Have you done any training with anyone else? What do you wanna work on today?" He gave the apprentice the option, his tail twitching as he sat outside the den, waiting for either the apprentice to appear or for him to respond in some manner. He didn't quite care if he was disturbing anyone else, they should've been up and doing chores or training if he had it his way.

"What?" Came the groggy reply from the den. The young tom who slumbered was unjustly disturbed, flopped back down on his side without making any attempt to leave the den. It wasn't Momster or Mamawhisker, and Bite hadn't told him he needed to get up, so he wasn't moving.

"Catch Bushytail Weeping did, Rockfriend teach." He yawned from the den, still making no move to get up. Few knew that Weepingpaw was a lazybones when it came to waking up. If it wasn't a command from one of the moms, getting him up could prove challenging. "Sleeping work I will."
@SuspiciousMindz [Hawkbite - I got him Shadow Fiend so he doesn't need any stealth training, and he's done hunting training with Rockjaw for a patrol. ]

Hawkbite would roll his eyes. It'd been a long time since he had to deal with a lazy apprentice, but he had his ways around that. He just hoped that Weepingpaw wouldn't make a habit of walking around like a bushy squirrel covered in nest, like Starrywisp once had. "I guess you don't want to learn how to properly beat up bad cats... or learn how to climb the trees... or learn how to chase down the bad cats..." Hawkbite started listing off some options, praying to the stars that one of them would get Weepingpaw up out of his nest. "Guess I'll have to teach someone else how to do those things so they can protect your Moms..." he tried to sound upset, ready to move on.

Oh! Weepingpaw knew this trick! Momster used it all the time, only with food to get him up. "Knowing what you're doing, I do." He grumbles, but still rocks forward till he can clamber to his paws. He shakes out his pelt and leans down into a luxurious stretch. He does his little stomp dance and then bolts out of his den, and pounces straight at his mentor with a big grin, trying to tackle the tom.

"Teach! Teach! Teach! Protect Moms, I can! Save Bite, too." He purred to his mentor. One of these days, Weepingpaw would be as big and strong as Momster. Well, maybe not as big, but he'd tried to be as strong.

"Chase and beat up bad cat, teach!" Weepingpaw urges. "Pleeeeeassse!" He drags out the word while remembering his manners.

The tree climbing sounded cool, but could he fight them in trees? "Tree hunting? Learn, yes?" The latter idea was dismissed as he recalled that not all cats knew how to climb, so fighting in there wouldn't work. Hunting might be fun, though.

Well, he wasn't exactly prepared to be tackled, but he also couldn't be surprised by this. Hawkbite luckily braced himself, rocking on his paws as the larger form of Weepingpaw exited the den. Sheesh! When did his apprentice get so big! Weepingpaw wasn't massive, yet, just larger than Hawkbite at this point. Wasn't he a tiny guy just last week?! Man, he was getting old.

It sounded like battle training, though. "Sooo, battle then, right?" Hawkbite confirmed before starting to lead Weepingpaw out into the territory. His tail swished behind him as they walked. "Do you know anything about fighting, yet? Other than biting?" The Commander would inquire before halting them in a grassy clearing.

"Like, do you know how to get down into a crouch? A battle crouch, not a hunting one!" Hawkbite chirped, crouching down in his own stance for his apprentice to see. His tail stuck close to his back leg, head even, if not a little lower than his shoulders. His paws were evenly spread, ready to balance if he was tackled again. "Or can you show me your best mean face? You have to look scary if you want to help protect your family," Hawkbite continued, displaying a mock snarl. Only momentarily. He didn't need to scare his sensitive apprentice.

The apprentice bounced around on his paws, full of energy, as his mentor asked about fighting and led them out of camp. "Learn to chase bad cats, I will too." He adds, to make sure that Bite knew he had to teach him that. But back to fighting.

"Best at biting, I am." He proclaims after that mention. He loved biting. It was such a fun thing to do. His teeth chattered at the thought of sinking them into something. However, before he got distracted by his biting fixation, he had to show his mentor his battle stance.

"Yup, learn standing I did. Show me, Confusingcat and Birdfire taught." He was trying to work on memorizing names here, but as he hadn't asked Tigernight or Rookfire's for their names....

"Watch, watch, P— Bite." He was still working on the family situation regarding his mentor and moms. He still didn't get it entirely but wanted to respect the commander as best he could, since Momster said so. The young apprentice dropped down in a crouch, low like he did in hunting, and spaced his paws evenly. He didn't drop as much weight down on his haunches as he did when ht was stalking, and his tail was curved like a question mark over his back. He splayed his paws for better balance, trying not to laugh at the tickling feeling between his toes. His shoulders were slightly hunched, and his head was dropped lower, closer to his chest.

The mean face was new, though, he thought Bite looked kinda silly snarling like that. As he was used to his Momster's mean or disapproving glares directed at him or one of his more troubling siblings, it took a bit for him to get terrified by making a face. Weepingpaw did his best to copy Hawkbite's expression, pulling his lips away from his fangs and scrunching up his face. He wasn't sure if he looked scary; he couldn't see himself.

"Good, yes?" He asked Bite, unaware that he merely looked like he had just eaten something bitter or smelled something foul. Scary face was going to need some practice.
