The otter was blind now, and she was still on it's head when back into the trees, arms flailing blindly, and managing to hit Acornfall a few times.
At some point, it started jerking around, and she dug her claws as deep as she could to stay on.
Acornfall had thrown himself on, and now the otter was trying to claw both him and Caveclaw off.
Claw's managed to scrape her side and the side of her neck, and she winced, but stayed on.
She couldn't fully tell how it happened, but Acornfall had managed to make the otter go limp, dead.
After they were sure it was dead, they hopped down, accidentally putting pressure on the almost immovable leg for a moment, and wincing.
Ugh.
Whatever, she can handle it.
But, before she could continue that thought much longer, Acornfall had came uo and gave her his shoulder as support, offering to take her to Berryshine.
Hm. "I can still fight." She stated "But I suppose it'd be smarter to get this a little dealt with first."
It would be, but if she was given the chance, she was going to try and help again.
She's in pain, yes, lots of it, but Caveclaw knows how to endure it. At least for long enough.
They'd let the Thunderclanner assist them over for now.

⤷ oh goody! the fish was actually doin' something for once. mumbleflight flashed a cheeky grin at- stagheart, huh, nice name- from his spot on the floor before jumping back up, though not without a wince of pain. his nose hurt, yikes!! he squinted his eyes against the sun as stagheart managed to deliver a couple good injuries to the slippery thing. ' nice one. round your back, buddy, just be careful. ' he called to his battling partner, ears flattening as the otter got a good bite into stagheart's leg and blood sprayed- all over him, ew. mumble flicked his tongue out to clear some of it off his face and then nodded, throwing himself fowards.
[ rolled a 19 & a 20!! ] mumbleflight made his best approximation of the otter's chitter before closing up any exit the otter may have had and darting to stand at stagheart's side. adrenaline positively flowed through his veins and the younger warrior lunged to attack, his claws hooking into the otter's slippery fur. by some saving grace, he managed to hold on, wrapping his forearms around the body of the stupid thing and digging his claws deep into its neck. blood got all over mumbleflight again, stars damnit, he HATED the smell and the taste of blood. it reminded him, distantly, of the outsider clan that had slaughtered his fam- nope, stop that, not the time, mumble.
[ oh no!! a 6 was rolled!! however im gonna move that six over to the next post so we can get some more battling in before mumble conks out ]

Seabreeze was correct in his assumption he wouldn't stay on the creature for very long, as after his distraction allowed for Stagheart and the Squirrel to get a hit in, the otter for some reason decided the new threat was more important than the one near its vitals- annoyingly stupid creatures, annoying strong creatures-. Not too mention that the Squirrel had already taken a head wound- hopefully they would be able to fight till the otter went down- you would think that the squirrels would know to protect the head given they fall out of trees for a living.
[ D20: 2 + 2 ( Experience ) ] Fail ]
Seabreeze tumbled off the otter, though one of his forepaws was caught in the jaws of the creature before he managed to roll completely away- the warrior growled, lashing out with the rest of his claws at the creature's face now that his limb was acting as a barrier between those teeth and Seabreeze's face.
[ D20: 20 + 2 ( Experience ) ] Major Success ]
His claws cut right across its face, the otter rearing back with a shrill screaming noise, but whipping its head still holding onto Seabreeze before tossing him like he weighed no more than a pine cone right over the squirrel's head, who was still at the otter's front. ...Well not like he could feel that paw to begin with, and if he was fighting something with thought maybe he would've sneered the fact. Instead Seabreeze readied himself to dash in once more calling out to Stagheart and the Squirrel, "Ay, I'm going for its flank-" Or at least, try to. Let's see just how successful he would be.
Just a scratch, that was all. A nasty bleeding one, but nothing that would take him out of the game yet. It was far too early for that. Besides, this wasn't the first time he'd faced an otter, and he wasn't on his own here. Shaking his leg as if he could rattle off the pain, Stagheart was quick to assess the situation before moving again. His sharp eyes darting between the fellow RiverClanner and the surprisingly springy ThunderClanner (he looked a lot like a squirrel to Stag right now, ironically), he found his opening, giving Seabreeze a quick nod. The warrior had been tossed by the otter, but seemed alright.
"You got it — I'll cover ya," he huffed, haunches wriggling before he sprang once more. Mumbleflight was clinging to the otter's neck by some miracle, and Seabreeze was going for its flank... so why not give its tail a nasty surprise, hm? Adrenaline flowed through his flexed muscles as Stagheart lunged for its tail, sinking his fangs in (yet again the bitter blood flooded past his teeth) and giving a sharp tug. A flicker of satisfaction went through the large tom as he heard the otter squeal, its legs scrabbling at the wet ground for purchase—
Right before a harsh kick connected to Stag's face, that is. Dots temporarily spattered the tabby's vision as he stumbled back, shaking his head. His skull throbbed from the kick—how were these things so fast and wriggly?—but he'd shrug it off as best as he could. Hopefully that little maneuver gave Seabreeze time to act, and/or gave Mumbleflight a chance to escape before his spot around the otter's neck became a bit too dangerous.

⤷ [ mumbleflight rolled a : 10 to hold on, and a 17 to injure ! ]
YIKES. yikesyikesyikes. mumbleflight managed to get in another good claw at the slippery thing's neck, but he knew damn well this was a sticky situation to be in. no matter how it went, getting off of the thing would leave him real injured, so why not do as much damage as he could while he was on it? he bit into its neck, the taste of salty, bitter blood flowing into his throat. however, as he bit, stagheart was kicked hard and heavy by the otter, and that momentum threw the thunderclanner off. the otter turned and flung him to the ground.
a sticky situation indeed, mumble's brain helpfully provided him as his head cracked against the ground and colors exploded over his vision. he was half sure his skull had cracked, but he might as well be being dramatic. so he hauled himself to his paws, vision swimming and his limbs about to give out on him. he wasn't ready to go down quite yet though, and mumbleflight spat out some blood to the side (it could have been his, it could have been the otter's, he wasn't super sure) and he dipped his head in a sharp nod as seabreeze spoke.
' righ'- ' and his head felt really heavy, and his mouth full of cobwebs, but he held on to conciousness. ' i'm goin' t' go for 's belly. 'f it's anythin' like 's, it'll b' weak there. ' mumbleflight's eyes flickered over his two riverclan partners- stars above, what was he even doing- for approval, knowing they'd done more of this than he had.

The calico let out a surprised 'grup' as he got flung from the otter. Landing squarely on his back, knocking some wind out of him. It took only a second for him to scramble up, paw slipping in the sand for a second before bolting right for the otter. It had just knocked Owlstar straight in the jaw. Making the Calico wince. Those tails were no joke.
Lunging forwards, grabbing the ugly thing buy the neck once more. Yanking back with all of his might. Hopefully he would make the thing trip forwards. Minimally succeeding. He was slowly getting it closer and closer to the forest. He wanted the beasts instincts to go haywire. If they used water to cause fear, so be it, he'd use trees to cause his.
In the middle of a yank, the deputy reached a claw up and slashed across the face. Successfully taking out one eye, just barely scratching above the other. That should give them the advantage. For the first time since he'd first learned how to fight. Spiderthroat wasn't going to be the power house in this fight. He would be the effects mongrel. Sand, ears, eyes, nose, tail all of it. However he could make the battle easier he would.
With that being said, after getting thrashed at by the Otter with a rather angry chittering laugh. He'd made it mad. Good. With that, Spiderthroat himself responded with a chittering hiss. Tail lashing, ears angled. He needed to keep the thing at bay so Owlstar could do nothing more than kill the ugly thing.
In the instant, Spiderthroat whipped around the back of it, using his newly made blind side, and did it once again. Grabbing it by the back of the neck. Except this time he made it crunch backwards. Exposing belly and neck. Easy pickings. Both claws sunk into the sides of the neck, Fangs digging into the scruff.
Hopefully Owlstar got the memo.
`~Owlstar
She, Her\Leader\53 moons\Riverclan
"My pulse is clear, rushing through my ears."
Owlstar thought she knew what a bad idea was when she saw one. Obviously not. Her paws burned, and her head was reeling with newly edged pain. Her jaw throbbed in sharp reminders. To add to that, her blows hadn't even landed. That was nice.
The tabby blinked, setting her jaw as an attempt to strangle the pain out of it, but she was probably making it worse. Alright, teeth were out of the equation. Spiderthroat was weak, clearly, but pulling as much weight as he could, literally. Dragging the otters to the forest wasn't something she'd seen before, but she was all for it.
The dots in her vision had yet to clear, but that didn't stop her from sizing up the situation. The otter was now half blinded and clearly aggravated, if not furious. Owlstar bristled out her pelt and snarled, watching as it's slim powerful body kicked mercilessly. Now couldn't possibly be a better time. The leader lunged forward, claws aimed at their throat and upper shoulders, specifically searching for whatever point would cause the most pain and blood loss.
[owlstar rolled a 15! attack successful!]
Her blows connected, tearing through skin and slipping through flesh. Their wildly manic laughing sounds didn't calm, if anything that got louder. Owlstar pinned her ears and squinted, unaware of the hind legs that lurched forward.
[owlstar rolled a 16! dodge successful!]
Owlstar leapt upwards a few inches, gravely avoiding claws. But they didn't exactly miss her entirety, ripping pinpricks of pain into her underbelly. She winced, making a metal note to watch out for their claws. Being half blind or just blind in general made any predator more testy and violent. This otter was no exception.
In a blur, and despite their heavily bleeding wounds, the crimson stained mammal reached up with their fore paw (ooc - they do have paws, right?) and swiped at Owlstar's bad eye.
[owlstar rolled a 5! fumble...]
Gone. What little was left of her hindered vision was gone. Her lazy eye might as well had been sliced in two, and while that part didn't exactly hurt, talons scraping clean across her brown face certainly did, reopening healed scars. Owlstar reeled back and howled, aiming one possibly fruitless swipe at the beats muzzle before she couldn't blink away the blood in her functional eye.
Welp looks like everyone was getting hurt today, well it was a given a cat missing an ear, a heavy hit to the head that was sure to hurt and the burning cut on the hornets chest. The hornet watched as the apprentice attempted to get under the otter, to be fair that was smart, trying to make the otter slightly unbalanced. Watching heroneye get a rough hit in the head than going after the otters flank. Once the two riverclan cats attacked risingstorm let go and brought his claws down across the otters face aiming for the eyes, hoping to blind the foul beast if he made it he would attempt to bite its neck again. if he failed he'd reach around and try again aiming to hit it in the head.

Has Seabreeze ever mentioned how much he hates otters? Yes? Well let him just say that he hates the things because he actually doesn't care if he's already said that. The warrior growled, watching as the Thunderclan warrior got yeeted similarly to Seabreeze but wasn't so lucky on the landing- if he hadn't a head injury before, then he certainly did now. The observation more than confirmed by the slurred speech- The warrior winced, and it didn't take a medicine cat to know that something wasn't right. For now, the Riverclan warrior needed to focus, especially as Stagheart offered a cover and was dashing towards the creatures tail.
The former lionheart dashed into the fray once more, aiming to beeline right at the otter's flank in hopes of leaving it partially immobilized with the extent of Seabreeze's teeth and claws.
[ D20: 18 + 2 ( Experience ) ] Success ]
HAHah! Seabreeze's claws met flesh and his teeth tore, aiming to gore, though the otter's muscles flexed under him. It was distracted with its movements to throw off Stagheart before it could make way of getting rid of Seabreeze, allowing the tom to spill a fair amount of blood. Aw- The tom's thoughts were cut off with a wince as Stagheart was kicked roughly, and Seabreeze took that as cue to back away for a second for the next dash in.
[ D20: 2 + 2 ( Experience ) ] Fail! Owch ]
The otter squealed, turning on a dime to reach out with its front paws, its claws digging into Seabreeze's shoulders before he even had a second to think about dodging. Though he did find sick glee in the way it tumbled while trying to place weight on the limb that was still running red. OH- Pain pain pain pain pain... was this how Mudsmoke felt before falling to these things? Sheering, breath taking pain as its teeth latched onto Seabreeze, catching his cheek and chin before attempting to shake and wiggle. Tearing away some of his face flesh as it did so.
That was Seabreeze's flesh actually, thank you, get your own. He tore away and blinked away the fuzzy darkness around the edges of his vision, his shoulders burned- what was it? Couldn't handle Seab's good looks? Jealous? Even his enemies were obsessed with him.. hah.. he's totally lost a lot of blood, wowzers. The warrior bunny kicked, curling awkwardly to kick his hind legs into the otter's throat.
[ D20: 9 + 2 ( Experience ) ] Minor success ]
While it didn't really do much, the otter did let go and made a cough-like chatter sound- though Seabreeze didn't pay much attention, preferring to instead put enough distance to not get bit immediately again. Surely this otter couldn't keep going for much longer.
[ If this doesn't make sense then I am sorry, I'm not very good with fighting stuff... uhh anyways, are we supposed to kill the otter and if so wanna do that in the next couple posts? ]
There's a heavy thump elsewhere and suddenly she has a little more space to wriggle around. Heroneye must have been knocked off. Salamanderpaw tries to flip herself belly-up so she can dig her hind claws into the otter's tummy with a rapid succession of kicks
[ 1 ]
only, she's timed this in the moment just before Risingstorm strikes at the otter's face. No longer held by Heroneye on its back or the Thunderclanner at its throat, the otter has a golden opportunity to deal with the nuisance rolling around underneath it.
Teeth sink through her shaggy pelt at the side of the neck and she's given a shake—like a wild dog with a rabbit. Teeth split the pad of the paw she thrusts out in blind defense. Salamanderpaw's perplexed at the sound she hears, a shrill caterwaul replacing the wicked chattering from before, until she realizes that she's the one making it until Risingstorm keeps it busy from the neck up again.
She does not want to be in this spot anymore. She can't do this. It hurts and she can't think. Just need Berryshine to...maybe she brought something yellow...and that'll take care of all the red...
Panting, Salamanderpaw kicks upward again, trying to move herself or the otter out of the way.
[ 3 ]
This absolutely does not pan out. She can't twist herself back into a position that'd make crawling easier, can't launch the otter off herself (imagine), can't get out. That's fine. That's okay. Maybe she's not going anywhere, but neither is the otter. They've got to be close. Heroneye and this Thunderclanner'll know what to do. Salamanderpaw accepts her circumstances and continues to sluggishly try and inflict whatever damage she can muster on that belly.
Heroneye saw the ThunderClan cat aim a strike at the otter's face, then watched with something between dismay and horror as it took hold of Salamanderpaw to give her a good jostling. For an instant she wondered if it would be better to try and grab the apprentice by the scruff and drag her out from her uncomfortable position under the otter but decided against it. She doubted she would have time to before the otter was on them again, launching another brutal attack while both RiverClan cats were left defenseless and distracted.
In the heat of the moment, the Lionheart made a split-second decision and stuck to it. She would join the ThunderClan warrior at the head of the beast, working with him in his apparent attempt to aim at the creature's relatively delicate face.
[ Heroneye rolled an eight out of ten. ]
Heroneye aimed a powerful strike at the otter's face and came about as close to delight as she could in a battle as she felt her claws running through its flesh. If the ThunderClanner's attack hadn't blinded the creature before, this one certainly had. It seemed to wail with pain, throwing its claws back at Heroneye in what she could only interpret as a mixture of confusion and blind rage.
[ Heroneye rolled a one out of ten ]
Her feeling of victory was short lived; the otter's claws scored gashes just as deep--if not deeper--than the ones she'd left in the beast's disfigured face. She staggered back, taking a heartbeat to regain her composure and balance as blood welled up from her shoulder and chest. Evidently it had been weakened, but it was still a threat.
[ Heroneye rolled a seven out of ten. ]
Heroneye went for the side of the otter's neck now, successfully digging her claws into its flesh. She worked to score deep clawmarks through it, watching as now it was the otter's blood that was spilt. The throat was the most vulnerable part of the body, right? If she and the ThunderClan cat could work together and cause enough damage to that area, they may just be able to pull through and finish this.
Hickorysmoke, having handled his own otter well enough lunged to the aid of Heroneye, Risingstorm and Salamanderpaw. The lean, muscular tom's golden eyes flashed as he lunged, aiming for the throat.
[rolling d20 to attack; 16; successful! Way to go!]
The limber, ombre brown tom whizzed past the cats vision, quickly aiding the riverclan lionheart as his already bloody jaws sunk deep into the flesh of the otter, making way for the lionhearts claws to score deep into the otters vulnerable, twisting form.
[rolling a d20 for staying on; 1; Better luck neck time!]
As soon as his large toms jaws penetrated the thick skin, the tom was thrown off the otter violently, falling a few tailengths away as he shook his head.
[rolling d20 for recover; 18; Are you a wizard?]
The tom spat out some blood from his mouth, sharp gaze looking at the otter. "Risingstorm! The neck!" He called to the head hornet before lunging back into the battle with the otter, jaws bared.
