Vanilla starts trotting to a nearby river and jumps down to a rock with ease and goes inside a little secret hole near the rocks where it's quite a tight space but it's home.

Wink followed at their heels, confusing heightening with every step. He tilted his head as he watched the act squirm into the narrow rock crevice. "I never got your name - " He started, blinking as he watched them disappear into what he perceived as a endless abyss. "Wait! Are you sure this is the right place?"

"Haha .. you're joking right? " Wink would glance back as Vanilla would speak, a bit wracked by the unnerving statement. He squinted. Maybe this cat wasn't as gentle as he thought. Had he made a mistake coming here? Masking his unease, the tom leaned back on his heels.

"It's .. dark in here . " He muttered, pushing away a stray bramble. "You really live here? I could've thought you were a kittypet."

"Oh! that's okay! mistakes happen!" She lays down on her fluffy bed made from sheering sheep. "I've been trying to collect some branches for a fire! I stole some uhh matches? is that what the humans call it? to start it!"

Wink's eyes flashed in fear at the mention of fire. Though the tom had been lucky to had never been one in himself, nevertheless the stories of rampant flames and infernos still haunted him. He stared for a moment before twitching his nose. "Fire? Ha! - What's the use for that?" He shuffled sideways, gaze set intently onto the matches. He cleared his throat awkwardly. "Well - all I mean is - all I mean is that who'd wanna start up a fire? Isn't that what most cats .. er .. try to avoid?"

Vanilla notices the fear and tilts her head but decides not to push it. "I want to experience it! The only fire I've ever seen was burning houses." Vanilla paws an insect on the ground, playing with it. "You want me to show you how the matches work? I promise it's really cool!" Vanilla gets excited and accidentally kills the insect. "awh "

He shrugged, nodding along ambiently. Wink figured that this was all some kind of joke. Minding no attention to the insect, he'd flick his tail steadily. "Uh - sure." He'd mew, pupils narrowing at the thin wooden sticks.

Vanilla picks up a match with her mouth and flicks it against the match box with quick precision. Then the top of the match lights on fire and place it in the pile of forest sticks. She quickly backs up as the forest sticks light on fire, giving it an orange and yellow glow that lights up the room. "There we go! Fire!." she lays down. "I don't mind fire usually because I know how to be safe around it!"

Wink's eyes widened as he'd watch the frail matchstick ignite. Sparks, dancing everywhere licked the corners of the ground and engulfed the sticks beneath it. He watched it rise and spiral against the wind, its red base trembling slightly. Wink stared in awe. He had scarcely seen real fire -- only digital screens of that in twoleghouses. Biting his tongue in hopes to hide his astonishment, the tom would lean forward, a tentative paw reaching against the flame.
