He really was quite a peaceful sleeper. You couldn't hear any snoring coming from his nest, nor any shuffling or parts of the nest scratching on the floor, and he looked soft and at ease while asnooze. He really did find some swell of pride within him at being unobtrusive and not interrupting other peoples' rest, though he didn't think less of other cats who did snore or toss and turn. Hours passed and soon a ray of daylight streaked in through the entrance of the den, and Basspaw slowly stirred, unable to sleep once the sun was up. As he slowly came to, blinking away the blurriness that always came after a good rest, he distantly watched others rise and begin their days. Soon, he too would follow suit, exiting the den and beginning some productive task or another.

Perhaps he could be accompanied by someone else, though, or worm his way into an activity they were planning. It wasn't necessary, and he wouldn't be upset if left to do his own thing, but it'd be nice to have some company. "Good morning," he greeted the cat beside him, turning his head slightly to face them and lightly gesturing a hello with his tail.

It wasnt instant rejection, and a part of Bleedingpaw who's heart was scarred and once burned by Moonpaw couldnt help but be shocked at that. Settling down into a loaf to stop themselves from wobbling even as they still in place (not wanting to risk falling over onto Wispypaw) the tom kneaded paws into the den floor, claws scoring wood to vent some pain.


"I... I think its normal for shadowclan maybe... I mean, who in this clan has a purely good relationship with their parents as warriors besides Owltalons lot, even Icestar...." Maybe he shouldnt expand on that one. Icestar was widely regarded as a good leader but not as good as her daughter but what Dawnstar had told Bleedingpaw cast her in a different light, one not commonly known, more private. "That one might not be mine to share actually.... I dont think its normal though, or at least it shouldnt be." Claws sunk in wood, a scoff. "Then again our family was build on broken promises and selfishness so it was probably always gonna go this way. Not that we ever got the grace to be told and know until the truth caught up to Lostspark."

Did Wispypaw know him enough to note that she wasnt Mama anymore? Did she get the same dream, the same truth that she was alive and had let her children mourn and suffer her death when it had never occurred? She'd understand the betrayal he felt all too well if so, or she should, after so many disappointments.



"Maybe it'll get better when we're warriors but.... Do any of them talk to you? Sleepysunrise does when I make the effort to approach her but she's so hard to read and its always me." Honestly the golden bengal did not expect to spill so much truth here but when the drip started it came out like a flood.


"Then again I suppose Im a hypocrite. I let insecurity keep me from approaching you for so long after all."

Wispypaw raised a brow as they listened to bleedingpaw speak their two cents. Not quite sure who Icestar was since they didn’t take those dumb history lessons they had received as kits. The past needed to stay in the past and never return, who needed a repeat. ”if anything owlthrosts family is the outlier of the clan, with their dynamics” they’d snort out. They wondered a bit about that bit of history though for a bit but didn’t feel the need to go into that mess at the moment. ”hah, you can say that again, we really didn't even get to have a choice in any kind of family matter” they agreed easily.


They could still recall the dream that their parent dragged them into, like it was last night. It was the first time they got to physically see what lostspark looked like, what life was like. Imagine how mad they got how much they wanted to scream and yell about finding out that she was actually alive and not dead. The betrayal they had felt about that but it was over and gone, like dust. Nothing they could do about it but try to move on and show their anger at traitors. The paw took notice quickly with how their adoptive sibling didn’t refer to lost as some form of mother. Wispypaw had stopped referring them as mother and father respectively sometime ago.

”No, not once has any of them spoken a word to me besides sleepy at the occasion it’s needed” came and gone like the wind. As soon as they became warriors they all seemed to have vanished into the air. ” Mm, our older sibling is indeed hard to read, can’t even tell what she’s feeling through her speech, though it does feel like she’s cautious around us.” they maybe blind to the world around them by physical means but they weren’t blind to reading others like they were them.

Shatteredpaw was sitting down, tail gracefully coiled around her curly-furred white paws. Cold, hazel eyes swept through the den, burning through the pelts of those she looked at. Hm. They should probably approach someone else for training, since she'd never finish her apprenticeship at the rate she was going. Honestly, mentor was pathetic. Shattered flicked her ears, before lifting a paw and absent-mindedly tearing the scab off of a scratch wound they made in her sleep. Blood dripped out, and the paw that she used was now coated in a nice shiny layer of the red liquid. Not too much, but enough. The wound bled, but she either didn't notice or didn't care, putting her bloody paw back down and sitting up straighter, eyes half closed to narrow slits.

There was definitely a plan in mind as the calico snuck through the bushes around the apprentice den. He was going to sneak up on Morningpaw again, of course! He had officially managed to do it twice! The dark tabby had taught Wildkit to stalk and hunt, and now he would suffer the consequences of it... as well as being Wildkit's best friend.

But... As the young calico peered into the apprentice den from the thick foliage, he didn't see the pelt he was looking for. Instead, he spotted Muddypaw. He remembered her from the fun mud event earlier in Newleaf... So his popped his little head out of the bramble surrounding the apprentice den and looked over at the brown apprentice. "PSST! Muddypaw!" He hissed. "Have you seen Morningpaw?" The stage whisper was hardly stealthy.
