Hmm. Hmm hmm hmm. She was b.o.r.e.d. Of waiting. Hornetpaw was not one for waiting! Nope nope denope. She swung her head round wildly, hoping to catch a glimpse of this Sweetswan. But it didn't look like it... Agh! She couldn't just wait around! "Yooo Risingstorm?" She walked back up to the head hornet, far too boldly for an apprentice. "Uh... I'm not sure our patrol leader's showing for this one." She continued to glance around a bit.

Sweetswan rushed out the warriors den, her fur still a mess as she skidded to a halt in front of her patrolmates. "I uh. slept," she said quietly. "Sorry. I'll bring back extra prey as an extra apology!" she purred. "we better be goin, eh?" she said, turning to the other warrior, Firebloom. "Care to lead the way, darling? Since I don't think after my little stunt I should be leading cats out."

Okay, they were taking forever.
Orangepaw would rather his first patrol after moons not take forever.
So, he was gonna go.
Even if he has barely anything.

"I'm going!" He announced to the others, before he started walking.
It was up to them if they followed or not.
He's walked back to camp on his own before.
But, to be fair, that wasn't a good example because of how that happened.
So.
He kinda preferred they followed.

But of course, he wouldn't ever admit such things.

Going to camp didn't take long.
And when they got back, he would set the moss down.
"Here." He said.
What went unsaid was 'the slowpokes should be here soon too.'
He was going to keep his mouth shut today.
For once.

Cicadapaw saw that Orangepaw was heading out and quickly followed behind the other apprentice, his moss clutched in his jaws. He set the moss down next to Orangepaw's bundles. He hadn't had time to find any cobwebs, but the warriors probably did. "Here you go."

Okaay, so now firebloom seemed to have disappeared on her supposedly while she wasn’t looking. When sunpaw looked around again she still saw no sign of snakefang showing up so what was she supposed to do now? She had yet to get punished for a patrol and she very much preferred to keep it that way. ” uhm hellloooo?? Firebloom? Snakefang? Didja not wanna go on a patrol anymore? Don’t think we can just decide to not do thaaat” she made sure that her voice was loud enough for the two to hopefully hear her. If she had to wait any longer she was going to take this to hollowpaw she was growing tired of waiting on other cats.

Mallowswarm

Mallowswarm's jaws were full, but she knew she could wrap more cobwebs around the stick she was holding. She didn't think there was an upper limit to the amount she could carry with it; probably one of the most useful aspects of that technique. She just needed to find more of them.

She had moved off again, searching the trees for the glint of silvery strands, when she heard Orangepaw speak. I'm going! She turned to see the apprentice already walking off, Cicadapaw close at his heels. For a moment Mallowswarm just stood there, resentment sparking in her chest. She was the patrol leader, she was supposed to lead them back to camp, not them. The fact that they were apprentices made it even worse. She didn't mind warriors who were older and more experienced than her taking the lead, but apprentices? They were supposed to still be learning, still be unconfident in things like patrols. Stars, even she was still unconfident and she was twenty-two moons old. Mallowswarm swallowed, pushing the thoughts away as best as she could. It didn't matter. She readjusted the materials in her jaws and padded after them.

Thankfully she was close behind the apprentices returning to camp. Mallowswarm placed her herbs beside the others', but paused, gaze lingering on the cobwebs that were still wrapped around the stick. Should she keep them on there, or take them off? After a moment of consideration, she figured the latter would be best; Hollowpaw could transport them more easily that way. Besides, the stick could be useful, although looking at it, she doubted that. It was too small and thin to be of much purpose. Mallowswarm lifted her gaze to the medicine cat apprentice, hoping he had no complaints with her cobweb-gathering. If he did... well, she didn't need to worry about that yet. No need to get anxious.

Fernwhisper trailed behind everyone else, they all had been on the patrol for too long, that was clear. Giving a nod to Hollowpaw she set down the moss and cobwebs.

A jump in the air was a clear sign as all day she got surprised once more. ”oops I must have been daydreaming there for a minute!” maybe she ought to get more sleep at night instead of wanting to fool around in her nest. ” I say we go now, we’re running behind! AAAAND he’s a warrior so if he reaaally wants to come he can catch up!” unlike them Sunpaw wasn’t able to just skedaddle out of camp on her own. Sadly she needed a warrior to come with since she was still a paw, that would hopefully change soon.

It would seem that they got what was requested of them from hollowpaw. Sunpaw partially wishes she didn’t have to give up such pretty flowers but something told her that said medicine cat would have her head. Last she checked she very much liked her head on her shoulders thank you very much. ” Hii hollowpaw, we got the herbs for ya, a bunch of them! Thought snakefang seemed to have gone bye bye?” she reported. The paw felt weird to do the job of a patrol leader, sprucey nor any other warrior had yet to teach her about any of that.
