The barn cat let out a yawn, trailing after the others as she let the wind ruffle her fur carelessly. Compared to other cats, Cracker wasn’t really exhausted. After all, she’d only got here a few.. whatever, but it wasn’t a long or a short time ago.

Cracker arched her back into a stretch, looking around her fellow barn-mates before walking around quietly. Maybe it felt better exploring alone, hm? Awkwardly, she observed the barn inside. It seemed a bit dusty to be honest, but she was no expert.There seemed to be lots of sleeping places available, and it looked as most cats had already claimed theirs.Welp.

The she-cat yawned again, leaping onto a chair besides some hay and making herself comfortable. To be honest, she didn’t like the spots that were high. They made amazing scenery, but she didn’t like real high heights. So there she lay, watching the two barn cats.. play..? with the dog. The dog seemed nice enough, but it also looked stupid.

Underneath the bag of feed, Cobra paused as he listened. So, this dog wasn't like the crazy guard dog of his last farm? Hmm... That didn't seem so bad. The weirdly friendly dog had yet to cause him any issues, and so long as he didn't hurt the sheep he would be fine? That was too easy.

What cat would try to hurt sheep, anyway?

And off she went again. His paws did itch for a good couple of sprints. Should he? The black tom sighed to himself. "Alright... Let's go!" He told himself as he darted out from under the feed bags.

The tall black cat ran after Lassie while he chased after Jack. His tail streamed behind him as his paws pounded the ground. When he finally did catch up, he batted at the the back of Lassie's hind legs, quickly distracting the excited dog. Once the eyes were on him, Cobra jumped into running into another distraction, glancing at Jack as though to say "New game, get the dog to chase you longer!" as a toothy grin spread across the half-mainecoon's face.

The edge of the hills came into view, and the large building the Twolegs had built loomed over them. Hawkfur stared at it for a moment, a shadow crossing his face. Stars, it was looking more permanent every day.

Turning to his group, Hawkfur took a breath. He could hear barking in the distance, as well as the bleeting of sheep. "Remember the dog is friendly. I'd advise not going near it, if you can." If Crowtooth was right and the dog was a slobberer, stars forbid someone stank up the warrior's den.

When he turned back, something caught his eye. The dog... he seemed to be chasing something. In the distance, Hawkfur spotted large, dark shapes with proportions completely alien to him. They'd have to avoid those, if possible. "Be alert." Was all he said before making his way to the barn.

As the patrol got closer, they were buffeted by the scent of cats. Several of them. Oh dear, thought Hawkfur, I'm not qualified for this! Yes you are, Hawkfur, you are a Fury for a reason. But how did he go about this? Who knew whether these cats were friendly or not, and they might not take kindly to being told to leave. But the clan was counting on them, so they'd push forward. "Seems like there are cats here. No fighting, no posturing. Let's talk to them and get some information, yeah?" His typically bright gaze was steely, a warning to anyone who went against his orders.

"Ahem--ah, hello there!" Hawkfur called as the patrol approached the barn. "We come in peace!" For now.

The flamepoint had just finished grooming her fur when she had a voice outside. Though she had only been with the other cats for a short while, she was able to tell that this one was unfamiliar. Were there going to be more barn cats, new cats to live with the twolegs, or were they something else? It was good then, that she had just gotten all the hay out of her fur.

"We have company!" Candycane called out to any cats still lounging in the barn. The square she-cat padded out, looking over the tabby and the cats with him. What a curious lot. She immediately ruled out them being kittypets. "Greetings. What brings you to our barn?"

Moorsong listened, heeding Hawkfur's words about the dog. She preferred to steer clear of it anyhow, so that was easy enough. However, the scent of cats came in waves, her eyes narrowing initially, before she calmed herself down.

"Barn cats,"she thought to herself. Her suspicion seemed to be confirmed when they approached the barn and Hawkfur called out. Moorsong sat and watched the barn entrance with a curious look, but she was ready to fight if necessary. Hopefully that wouldn't even be a worry, but with mysterious cats, she never assumed the best.

The blind warrior trailed further behind the patrol, quite comfortable at the rear. Her ears were alert, and her stub of a tail twitched as she listened to the fury. Dreamlight was silently questioning why she had been picked for an observation patrol when she couldn't see dung, but she wouldn't nag about it. Truly, she was honored that the deputy trusted her with the task in the first place.

She followed with little trouble as they headed to the barn. She cocks her head when she picks up the scents of cats, it was mixed with the scent of dog and twoleg. It wasn't the most pleasant scent, for certain. At the mention of no fighting, she could do, but no postering? Dreamlight forced her hackles down and straightened out her spine so it wasn't so arched when she heard the incoming paw steps.

At the new voice's question, she opened her mouth to speak, but then thought better and left the talking to Hawkfur. The fact that they couldn't chase these invaders off was beyond upsetting, but rules were rules. She swiped her paws over the scars on her lids and tried to listen for any hints of the 'friendly' dog. She wouldn't claw it, but it would get a swat if it got too close to her. You never know when friendly would turn mean.

Arc padded up, the siamese slunk through the barn with practiced ease, his long whiskers brushing on the hay. He padded up next to Candycane, towering over the group of cats with the sheer size of the lean, thin cat.

"Candycane. Go wale the others, we have guests."

His voice was low and stern, dipped with authority that came from his experience, his bright eyes shifting towards the one in charge, the one who spoke to them.

"Greetings. What brings you to our barn?" His authoritarian voice rumbled from.his throat, tail swishing behind him.

Vinesmoke trotted next to littlepaw keeping his ears perked listening for any threats he nodded at hawkfurs instructions and rules..a dog that was friendly now that was interesting. As the patrol confined deeper into their territory the barn came into view aswell as new cats he peered at them cautiously they seemed okay? Though he wasn’t sure. As one of the cats approached he stepped defensively in front of littlepaw feeling a need to protect her if this cat turned into a threat though he was pleasantly surprised when the she cat introduced herself..so these were barn cats he had heard stories from the elders about barn cats. “We’re patrolling our territory what are you doing here?” There was no malice in his voice more so curiosity and caution as the next cat approached a tom “how many are there” he said more so to himself than anyone
