RippleNose blinked in surprise. Stars, there were a lot of new apprentices. The warrior paid attention as they were named to make sure he wouldn't forget any of them. RippleNose shifted his paws and raised his head. "CherryPaw, FernPaw, FaithPaw, ClayPaw, HickoryPaw, SpucePaw!"The calico tom cried with the rest of his clan.

Claypaw sounded way cooler than her previous name. Maybe because it was so new. Who cared? A wide grin formed, as she looked at the clan cheering her (and the other new apprentices) name. The energy really got her excited. Hey, she could even hear lil' Cypresskit cheering for her! With a giggle, she nudged Hickorykit. "I've got a fan. Big sis Prim's kits are the best."

All the cheering was overwhelming for Sprucekit- no, Sprucepaw now. It's more than she'd ever received before, and her fur prickled. She wanted to shrink down and out of sight. Which, in a way, she supposed she could do, as she now had a mentor to find. Skullbrook was the name? That wasn't a warrior she was very familiar with. The young tortoiseshell looked around, trying to find her new mentor.

Skullbrook's fur prickled with surprise as Owlstar announced she now had to mentor 'Sprucepaw'. She wasn't even paying attention much so hearing her name made her jump. This must be some mistake I didn't offer- she sighed aloud. A bit disappointed now that she had another responsibility on her shoulders. "Sprucepaw, Cherrypaw, Fernpaw, Faithpaw, Claypaw, Hickorypaw!" Even though she was shocked, she'd never just not cheer on the new apprentices. Besides, Skullbrook liked the name Faithpaw... she never heard of it before but she wasn't too appalled to new things.

She lifted her head to search for Sprucepaw. She remembered that Sprucepaw had Tortoiseshell fur. (And seemed awfully shy, based on the way they walked to the Skyridge). As she approached the towering ridge, she spotted Sprucepaw looking into the crowd. Taking a deep breath, she walked towards the apprentice. "Hey, your Sprucepaw right? Nice to meet you. Im Skullbrook, your mentor."

Moonpelt's ears perked up, slightly surprised that she was getting to mentor someone. She gazed around, looked for Cherrypaw, quickly spotting the apprentice. She padded over, settling down beside them. "Hello Cherrypaw," the molly meows with a dip of her head.

Sprucepaw blinked as she saw a warrior approach. Her assumptions were proven correct when Skullbrook introduced herself. She stared up for an uncomfortably silent heartbeat, words refusing to form in her mind. Wasn't she excited for this only a short while ago? Being an apprentice now, she shouldn't get worried talking to warriors! What a fool she must look like.

"Hello..." She finally said, voice quiet. Sprucepaw cleared her throat, pelt burning. "Um, I'm honored to be your apprentice. I'll work hard to live up to your expectations and then some."

Woodpelt looked up, startled. An apprentice? Finally! Hickorypaw, hmmm. He'd see if they could go on a territory tour later. He didn't really know them that well, but he was sure they could be a great pair.
