| Lightningstorm | 26 Moons - WindClan Medicine Cat Flock Together [Tier 3] - Active | Mind Reader - Active | Dreamwalker - Inactive | Katty Krueger - Inactive
A small cough masking a mrowr of laughter escaped Lightningstorm at Leechscar's question to the leader, her mind momentarily fleeting to the day Bravebird had come back to her with a face full of porcupine quills. Somehow, she had a feeling even that stubborn quill face wouldn't have appreciated the comparison to Wildfire... although maybe it was only the herbalist associating her with the prickly creatures, in which case, it definitely would have been her who would not have been appreciated. Ah well, thus was the life of a medicine cat, she assumed. Her humor was simply wasted on all these sticks in the mud. Stars she missed Tufty. Sure, he gave lightly judgmental glares - more like mild frowns, the poor tom had never been able to fully mold his face to anger and rage, after all - but he always chuckled in the end.
A wave of sorrow rushed through her at this thought, however, and her amusement was soon dampened, washed away even more thoroughly by the cascading rain. She half missed Peachpaw approaching the fury, but Owlpaw's distressed voice - her ears so used to hearing even the slightest of attempts to mask speech when others employed techniques she was so used to utilizing herself - soon brought her back to the present, shaking oriental sized ears free of water only for them to be thoroughly soaked yet again in less than a blink. Vinesmoke's approach was almost ignored as well, yet the tom speaking to her caught her unawares. Considering the leader had made it clear she wanted to speak to him and his friend had just been exiled, she could only hope that he would be more mindful of Twilightstar's orders now... She wouldn't blame him for wanting to say goodbye, however temporary, of course. The medicine cat herself had pleaded to accompany her own mentor to the border... but then, their goodbye had been permanent, and she hadn't intended to make the trip back to camp.
No, it had been his insistence to apparently include her in his chatter that had caught her off guard. Most cats only spoke to her when they needed something. Always injury or illness related. She was less a cat and more a tool for other's use and disposal, or at least, so she felt on most days. If anything, Wildfire's lack of seeing her as anything other than the cat that resided in the medicine cat's den and whatever use she had for his immediate needs was more what she was accustomed to. Which prompted a raised brow at Vinesmoke's... apology now. If being spoken to was rare, being apologized to was potentially doubly so. It was an odd experience, to say the least.
"You're a WindClanner. It's my usual experience. Don't worry, though. I would never let anger stop me from treating you as a patient," Lightninstorm stated bluntly, mild confusion in her voice. Unable to see any other reason as to why any cat would want to get into her good graces after having so obviously pissed her off.
The lithe calico had always been a cat with a volatile temper. She could be laughing one moment and enraged the next. As much as she liked to think of herself as a cat of reason, her love for facts and sticking to truths over conjectures did not make her any less likely to feel her emotions fully. Her thoughts to storm over at the lightest provocation. This was why she'd received her name... much like Wildfire's had received his own, she was sure. She just... hid it better, she supposed. Controlled herself. Managed to understand that emotions could be felt without letting them get in the way of your duty to the clan. Angry as she might have been, she had always tended to the clan's maladies, even at her lowest point. That wouldn't change over a simple, mouse-brained incident made worse by an arsehole who thought helping was getting in everyone's way and glaring at anyone who didn't agree... and then somehow managing to keep the grudge after it was all over.
Keeping her gaze on Vinesmoke only for a moment longer as he spoke to Owlpaw - making her if possible even more acutely uncomfortable - and made his way back to Twilightstar, she turned her attention to her patient next, offering a grin as water continuously dribbled down her chin.
"What say you we get out of this rain and back into my den now, love? I would invite Leechscar over to help dry you, but it seems he's otherwise occupied at the moment. Which reminds me... thanks for your hard work, Chuckles," she added as she began guiding the apprentice towards her den, flashing a cheeky smirk in his direction as she called to him. "Your contributions in keeping Peachpaw well and dry will ensure I have one less patient to update you on."
@Undertaker [Leechscar] | @Tallstar [Vinesmoke] | @Blaaze [Owlpaw] | @Ian [Peachpaw]
| For Blaaze, feel free to move Owlpaw on to the medicine cat's den with your next post, so Lightningstorm can get a proper look at her out of the rain and have some privacy. |

Another moon, another meeting. The only good thing about this meeting was that newleaf was here, yet thanks to the twolegs, prey was still not the easiest to find and the traps. How many cats have been reported taken now? More than five, she was certain of that. Four warriors had managed to escape their captors and return home, but that did little to ease Twilightstar's worries.
Then there were the exiles. In the past moon, Twilightstar has tallied at least six cats sent into temporary exile, two of whom were literally made warriors less than a moon ago. She wasn't sure what was happening, but it did nothing to lift the leader's mood. The disappearance of one of WindClan's furies was the nail in the coffin for the leader. Everything was supposed to get easier once the weather warmed up, yet all it felt was messy to the WindClan leader. It was another trial to get through; they'd figure it out, and they always figured it out.
The she-cat took a moment and breathed while looking at the cloudy sky. Newleaf was a pretty rainy season, washing away the frost and snow of leafbare, but leaving everything wet and muddy. Twilightstar's sole eye watched the light rainfall for a long moment, calming herself with reminders that things could be worse. She didn't know how exactly, but it could be.
"WindClan," The lilac feline shouted once she claimed her perch on the galewood, ignoring the rain. "Stay in your dens or join me below the Galewood, I don't mind which. Listen well as it's time for a Clan meeting." #wcmeeting

Spottedpaw
Peaceful ⋆ Dejected ⋆ Melancholic ⋆ Neutral Good
“Life is fickle and self serving."
Seeing her sister, Spottedpaw walked over with a sad look on her face, though when was that new? She hoped that Windpaw actually remembered who she was, Spottedpaw made herself as rare as Starclan nowadays."You mind if I sit besides you?" She was ready to get a no but hey it was worth a shot...
