Owlthroat nodded at Mistlewhisker and cast a disappointed glare towards the newly named Mimickit. He didn’t seem apologetic for his lack of prey, Owlthroat made a mental note to deal with him later. For now he turned to face his bunch of failures, Talonpaw had at least caught one piece of prey which was something.
”Talonpaw, Wispypaw, Sleekpaw. We will be heading out now, gather round and then we’ll set off.” His voice was brash, demanding they performed. His tail lashing as he awaited them.
DarkPaw stiffened at Sleepysunrise’s words, his ears twitching slightly. Guard duty. All night. No breaks. His stomach twisted, but he kept his face blank, nodding quickly in response. "Understood," he said, voice even but quiet.
He wasn’t sure what was worse—being given a punishment or the fact that he couldn’t even argue against it. Not that he would. That would draw attention, and he had already made himself noticeable by showing up late. His paws shuffled against the ground before he forced them still, glancing around at her last question.
"I don’t know…she was with us the whole time.” he admitted, gaze flickering for a moment before settling on a fixed point behind her. He wasn’t about to make excuses for anyone else. His own problems were already enough to deal with. “Am I dismissed?”

Grumble grumble snotty little apprentice grumble. She was barely awake. Why didn't she make him stand guard until sunhigh, uuuugggh. Why couldn't he just complete his patrols, she dramatically pulled a paw across her face. "Go."

She warned, before brushing past the apprentice and disappearing into the darkness.

Talonpaw fluffed up, what?! She worked so hard to catch this! Augh! Why was she in trouble she did well?! Whatever! She would just work extra hard! She wrinkled her nose, trying not to look at Mistlewhisker in fear of glancing a sour look at her. Yes, she was upset, but that was no reason to be disrespectful. Even so, she had to refrain, some beast pent up inside of her that wanted to snap, to bite and claw, to prove she was worth it. Stars, why was she like this? She went and dropped her prey in the pile before turning back to her father and the other apprentices, a defeated look on her face. She refused to look at any of them, especially not Owlthroat.

Here were the two snails. She looked utterly unamused, especially when Grottopaw walked right past her. She grimaced. Did he not even realise how late he was? At least the other idiot had some sense in awaiting their punishment. She eyed the apprentice; she wanted to demote him, that is what he deserved. The dumb little snot was lucky she gave apprentices a chance to rectify their mistakes before demotion. Her claws flexed in and out of their sockets, eyeing the feline. "You're demoted."
She called after the kid with a low hiss to her tone, mostly to get his attention before he got it to his head that his immense tardiness wouldn't have consequences. Her tone grew quiet as she continued. It had been a mere warning. "At least you will be, if you don't comply."
She narrowed her eyes, stalking closer with slow steps. "Go to the elder's den and clear them of ticks. Now."
With not a second of consideration more, she turned her sharp gaze on Foghaze, approaching him this time. "You, are actually demoted. Fogpaw."
She didn't care about this one, he was expendable.
"Don't let this happen again."
She warned both with a cold stare.

Oh boohoo, he was right. If it was up to her slackers that did nothing didn't even deserve to be in the clan, but alas her grandmother was merciful. She eyed Fogpaw for a long second before waving her paw and dismissing him with a flick of her tail. "Fine."
She muttered, uninterested in sparing this cat a second more of her time.

Owlthroat made his way back with the majority of the punishment patrol, his face rather grimace like. ”My daughter Talonpaw seems to have wandered off, do with her as you wish. The rest have caught their fair share.” He reported in to Mistlewhisker his face clearly displeased with his own kin’s poor conduct. How embarrassing.
