Fallensky choked back a sob, touching noses with her best friend. I'll leave, Maplepaw. For you. She knew this would be a decision she regretted. Maplepaw, promise you won't leave me. Promise.
"Thank you. Wait for me. I'll be back soon." Maplepaw sniffled. The pain in her leg still hurt. Blood slowly trickled. Twoleg footsteps got closer. "Now go."

Cottonpaw
he/him | Windclan Apprentice | 10 moons The Collector - Lucky Duck T3 The Stowaway Child
[96/100]
TW: Bone Breaking & Blood
Cottonpaw smiled at Orangeslice and Porcupinequill, nodding his head deftly. ”I.I’ll b.b.be careful.” The youngster carried himself forward opening his mouth in an attempt to follow his scent trail. He had taken the two warrior’s words in and was minding his surroundings as well as a young apprentice could.
Paw after paw, his mind still felt muddled up about the act of killing. But he knew he’d give thanks and that soothed him slightly. It still left his brain whirring though, it would never be easy. But he’d become big and strong, he had to. There was no other option.
SNAP
He didn’t realize it at first, they hadn’t been out long. Cottonpaw looked down and his foreleg was firmly caught.
The pain came next, surges of adrenaline and seething pain rushing through his limb. ”AUUGHHHHHHHHHHH,” Cottonpaw screeched. A deafening screech, the kind that was loud enough to break glass. Tears bursting like a geyser through his eyes, he couldn’t manage words. He was only a few pawsteps in front of the other too but the panic set in. He thrashed instinctually, they would come. The two-legs would come and take him.
The youngster wrenched his paw free from the trap with the force of Starclan behind him. That came with another sickening snap, his wide panic stricken eyes looked down. He was free, but at what cost. His fur had scraped away, blood running down his ivory fur. It wasn’t right his leg wasn’t in the right shape, it was bent and contorted.
Was it broken?

He/Him
The air hung thick with the scent of damp earth and vermin as Vinesmoke crept silently through the narrow tunnel. His muscles tensed with familiarity and focus, each step deliberate, each movement a whisper of fur against soil. His ears flicked back toward Nectarpaw, who followed closely, his breath shallow but steady. "Stay low," Vinesmoke murmured, his voice barely more than a vibration carried through the ground. "And listen." He paused, letting the silence settle over them. The darkness closed in like a living thing, but it didn’t bother him — it was his second skin. His claws flexed lightly into the dirt as he cocked his head, ears attuned to the subtle shifts of sound.There.
A faint rustle ahead, the scurry of tiny claws against stone. Vinesmoke's tail flicked, a silent signal for Nectarpaw to be still. The young apprentice’s breathing hitched but he held his position, his fur brushing the walls as he froze. "Mouse," Vinesmoke whispered, barely audible. "Feel the vibration in your paws. It’s close — just around the bend. Don’t use your eyes, Nectarpaw. Use your instincts." He began to inch forward, his movements as fluid as water flowing through cracks in the rock. He placed each paw carefully, weight shifting evenly to avoid noise. As the scent of prey grew stronger, he turned his head slightly.
"Remember," he murmured, "patience is your ally. Let the prey come to you."
The scuffling sound grew louder. Vinesmoke halted, his claws unsheathed, and felt the subtle tremor of the mouse’s tiny heart beating through the ground. He could almost taste its scent. He crouched, a coiled spring of tension. Suddenly, he lashed out, claws flashing through the dark. A squeak pierced the silence — sharp, fleeting. Vinesmoke felt the warm body go limp beneath his paw. He straightened, the mouse dangling from his jaws. Turning toward Nectarpaw, he laid it gently at the apprentice’s paws. "Your turn," he said softly, his eyes gleaming in the dimness. "The next one is yours."
He appreciated the comfort in the instructions and he forced himself to gulp down the minor panic. Nectarpaw crouched as he walked through the tunnel and angled his ears around him. He focused on the mentioned sound and stopped in his tracks. This was strange, catching prey in such a dark space verses an open moor. Don't use your eyes. It was important to uses his other senses down here.
So what could he smell? He smelt dirt, bugs and most importantly mouse. Patience is your ally. Let the prey come to you. He waited as the tunneler made his move and he stared at the mouse in wonder. "Woah.." he whispered. He moved up from his crouch for his turn and rose his nose to sniff the air.
(d20: 20)
He quickly caught the scent of a mouse, he guessed they must be plentiful down here. He followed the scent, pawsteps light and nose twitching. Nectarpaw heard the scurrying and the faint beating it's heart. The ginger tabby jumped, claws landing squarely on the mouse, cutting off it's squeak. It was a great kill, the best he's made so far. Maybe the tunnels were the best thing for him.
He held the prey in his jaws with a smile towards the tunneler. "I did it!" he announced, his voice muffled by the mouse fur.
(I'm so sorry for this post to be so so old.. like three months- i'll owe you art or something if you forgive this-)

He/Him
Vinesmoke watched his friend as the successfully killed the mouse he grinned snd let out a congratulatory whistle “awesome job..cmon let’s get out of the tunnels”he led the way out brushing himself against the side of the wall to leave a scent trail for other tunnelers to let them know where he had been eventually they made their way to the surface and he stopped walking waiting for nectarpaw to catch up
Sneezepaw was still fruitlessly trying to break free from the jaws of the biting thing when they found their ears pricking at a sound in the distance. They forgot to be fearless when they realized what it was all at once: the yowling of Twolegs. Did they know Sneezepaw was there? Maybe they could smell their blood (or fear scent)... They gave up being Calm and Collected and started thrashing about wildly. That still didn't work, and it still hurt.
"Come on! Open up, you stupid piece of crow-food!" Sneezepaw hissed at the metal jaws. Okay, so insulting it didn't work either, and the Twolegs' voices were only getting closer and closer. Sneezepaw yelped with panic as they came into view despite themself. There were two adults, yammering amongst themselves and occasionally throwing jeers at the apprentice. Okay, Twoleg junk! If you're going to open up and let me run away, now would be the time to do it!
No such thing happened. One of the Twolegs leaned down, and all of Sneezepaw's attention and energy went into clawing and scratching like their life depended on it. And it did, as far as the apprentice was concerned! But somewhere in that storm of claws and teeth and fur, the Twoleg managed to open the metals jaw up and scoop Sneezepaw up in his paws. No matter what they did, the Twoleg seemed unfazed. The apprentice's attacks seemed to only catch on the thick pelts that covered the creature.
The other Twoleg was holding a den made of lines of hard, thin, shiny stuff, and the troublesome cat was roughly thrust inside by the first Twoleg. With blood pounding in the cat's ears, they realized this really wasn't a problem they could solve with their claws. They yowled, uselessly throwing themself at the indestructible walls of their prison as they were taken to StarClan only knew where.
Vinesmoke made his way with the rest of the patrol to the entrance of the tunnels he silently wondered if they had any water training better safe than sorry “alrighty so I’m just gonna go over basic saftey when we enter rub against the right wall the left is how you can find your way back out be careful of certain unstable soil areas if you hear rumbling try and get out of the tunnel stat is may collapse so be careful” alright now that that was through he would have to lead the way to the mushrooms hopefully they could find some soon

Shrikepaw
she/her - 5 moons
Shrikepaw bounded after the two of them - where were they going, what were they doing?! Whatever it was, she couldn't wait!! Until... Vinesmoke started talking. Basic safety so they - WHAT ?! - Tunnels? She blinked up at him, "t- tunnel? We've gotta go in a tunnel?" She gulped. Ughhhhhhhh Falconbeak knew she didn't like tunnels - though, she guessed it wasn't his idea, but the medicine cat's. And - was he still here? She pawed at the ground nervously.
[I've just applied for an extension on this btw ! ^^]
Rabbitfur hurried forward, nodded at Crowtooth's instructions. Hunting patrol in the general territory. Seemed simple enough. He dipped his head before turning, gaze searching for his patrolmates, completely unaware of what he was about to find. "Ashcloud! Jaggedpaw!" He called, looking around he noticed Jaggedpaw and trotted up to him. "I suppose we're just waitin' on Ashcloud!" He mewed, gaze flickering around.

Jaggedpaw gave the white tom a look of great distaste, like he himself hadn't been late aswell. "Thought warriors as old as you would be more timely than this" the speckled white Aprentice commented, clicking his teeth before returning his gaze back towards the warriors den in search of the other slacking member of the patrol. Jaggedpaw wasn't sure how long he and rabbitfur waited before his patience finally snapped, it was a miracle he had gone out alone already seeing as he never had patience to begin with. Rising to his paws, Jaggedpaw made his way out of camp without hesitation he didn't even care to check if his supposed patrol leader was following.
- - - - - > in the territory
Jaggedpaw had been out in the territory before with the old lady, Deadmoon had been slow which had been a slight annoyance but now he supposed it had worked in his favor. Cause for all that walking he actually managed to grasp the layout of the territory better than he would have if Deadmoon had just let him run around the entire time. The apprentice looked over his shoulder to see if rabbitfur was still following him but he struggled to spot her. His white fur did blend in with their surrounds, melting away in to the snow. Jaggedpaw himself kind of blended in but his dark ears and markings gave him away. Anyway he supposed it didn't matter if the rabbits did see him, it wasn't about stealth with them but speed and Jaggedpaw was certain he would catch any he pursued with out a doubt. He could see it now; Him carrying so much prey into camp that those seated in the clearing would gasp and praise him. Jaggedpaw on his first hunt had caught more prey then anyone else before, he must be a prodigy! The greatest of us! The apprentice smirked at the thought, not only would he be praised by his clanmates but cards would finally accept him as her equal and see that he was also like her and straws. He wouldn't be lumped in with sprout or frostie any longer.
A sound of something carries over by the wind draw Jaggedpaw out of his own dreamy world. Could it be a rabbit?! He didn't know they were that loud when not dead. No. It sounded like yowling? Jaggedpaw took of in the direction of the noise and as he grew closer the metallic scent of blood hit him square in the face almost sending into daze. Jaggedpaw slowed his pace, claws unsheathing and the fur along his spine bristling. From the top of the hill he had raced up he could see the scene ahead. Two large looking creatures were standing right there! Not to far from the base of the hill, and in one of the creatures paws was a cat- no a clanmate! Sneezepaw, he recognized the apprentice. Sneezepaw seemed to fighting them with all his might but his efforts were futile as he was shoved into box and taken away.
Jaggedpaw stood dazed as he watched those huge lanky giants take his clanmates away, he would chase after them but his paws felt like stone unable to move. His heart was racing but he wasn't running. Was this fear? The apprentices gaze snapped back to the spot the giants and sneezepaw had been. Jaggedpaw slowly made his way down the hill to the spot we're he found a strange looking thing. Like a rock mouth with sharp teeth sticking out the snow. The smell of blood was still around it. What the???? What was he supposed to do??? Was he supposed fight this thing or go after sneezepaw?!? No one had taught him this yet!??

Ashcloud was late. He always seemed to be late but he hadn't been burned for it yet so he didn't think much of it. It was just another hunting trip like those he had done before and he found that he gained a lot of luck when he was late on things. Perhaps he was playing with fire here and should cut it out rather soon. Well nothing for it now other than to find something to bring home. Then he heard it in the distance. There was terrible yowling of a child. Without much thought put into it the warrior darted towards the sound. The smell of blood eventually hit him and the sickening scent filled his nostrils. It was almost enough to yak up his lunch. Yet despite the warrior's determination he was unable to catch up to the twolegs. Honestly it was utterly hopeless even if he wasn't late and he tried his hardest but his lungs burned and he had to stop and lay down, wheezing as his body desperately clawed for air.
It was yet another failure on his soul. This wasn't the first time that he couldn't save a kid from those monsters. Tears of frustration built in the warriors eyes as he clawed into the ground. Why was it like this? What was wrong with these twolegs? The last ones got an apprentice stuck in a strange bush that his claws couldn't tear into but the kid was unharmed. Why did these twolegs decide to maim a kid if there was easier ways? Once he managed to catch his breath enough to speak he yelled out to the others. "We have to report this to Twilightstar..."
Eventually he got the energy back in him to walk over to Jaggedpaw then he looked to the shiny... and bloody thing. "Back up from that thing... Twoleg's love tricks." He said before carefully observing the oddity.. What could he do about this thing. Seeing a nearby stone Ashcloud just barely got it in his jaws and tried throwing it at the trap. It honestly took a few tries to throw the rock since he didn't have arms but it eventually tried to bite the rock making the warrior jump up along with his tail now being poofed enough to be a duster.
"What an awful beast, biting at rocks yet sitting still..." Maybe... It wasn't alive, but Ashcloud really didn't understand a thing.
