Hawkpaw giggled. His eyes lit up as he spotted a misty white rock sitting just a couple fox-lengths away from the reddish one. He raced over to it, just so he could pick it up before Dizzy.

Alright, no fair. Dizzy trailed after Hawkpaw for a moment, knowing he could never keep up, before giving up. He’d just find another rock! Although he did hope it wouldn’t become a competition. But just to be safe, he should probably pick up as many rocks as possible. Dizzy quickly found another red-colored rock, this time shot through with a streak of gray. So cool. Dizzy glanced at Hawkpaw to make sure his new friend wasn’t getting more rocks than he was.

Vinesmoke sighed enough was enough he was going to prove everyone wrong taking Deadmoons advice at the gathering he knew Twilightstar had made the right choice even if he couldn’t exactly see it that way. Looking around he spotted Coldpaw by the apprentice den he marched over unsure of how to do this “Coldpaw..uh hello” gosh he want good at this “I was wondering if you would like to get some tunneling training done and maybe get out of this cold ee really need some prey since it’s been more scare for the moor runners”

Coldpaw was surprised to find and unfamiliar presence approaching her, head turning left and right a few times before settling on the neutral middle ground of facing straight ahead, ears angled up an towards... Ah, her mentor. She perked up a little realising who it was, back straightening and paws stopping with their shuffling. "..Hello."
She answered, at first a little wary despite his friendly demeanour. But the mention of training and tunnelling had her interested, as she was eager to get started. "I would like that."
Coldpaw replied with a little nod.

Hawkpaw smiled, bouncing over to Drizzlepaw. I wonder if these are edible... He murmured, rasping his tongue over the surface of the rock.
"Me as well!" His voice was a enthusiastic purr. He's glad he can be happy about his progress after everything. "Ever think about what your warrior name would be?" he prompted with a kind smile.

Stormingpaw emerged into the clearing from the apprentices' den, opening her jaws in a silent yawn before stretching. The she-cat's green eyes blinked away lingering sleepiness, and she headed over to the prey pile and plucked a small rabbit off the top. The black-and-white apprentice settled down near the apprentices' den and began to eat her meal.

Wow, he made it sound like Cinderpaw was the worst apprentice in the history of apprentices. Twilightstar blinked her single eye while watching her deputy walk over to her after losing what sounded like an ongoing battle between him and one of his apprentices.
She stared at him with a look that screamed I-refuse-to-believe-my-kit-is-the-problem-here and twitched her whiskers as a teasing smile crept on her maw. "You certainly showed him who's boss," She chuckled. "I made sure to give you my most obedient kit to train, I'm having a hard time understanding how you're struggling with him."
Twilightstar glanced at the apprentice and shook her head in disappointment. In all honesty, though, Cinderpaw never acted up before her. Twilightstar had thought Coyotekit, Raccoonpaw, and Rainpaw as the most troublesome of her litter. So it was a surprise to see Crowtooth having trouble with Cinderpaw. She was going to assume this meant they were getting along swimmingly.
"Anyway, I need you to scout out the hills with a patrol. I want to start sending out regular scouting patrols to keep an eye on the twolegs and their work, it doesn't seem they've understood we want them gone yet. I think it'd best to have the furies lead the patrols and have them report to me if there are any big changes or concerns to deal with."

Crowtooth had expected scolding for the 'threats' against her kitten or maybe at her deputies failure to manage a child who was the size of his head but he was NOT expecting denial of the little rats wrongdoings! W-huh? Cinderpaw was acting like a brat RIGHT THERE what did she MEAN 'her most obedient kit' Cinderpaw liked defying Crowtooth for fun?!
The tom looked baffled, unaware the leader was in part correct that Cinderpaw was well behaved, with others and not the deputy the little tom had a secret goal to dethrone, before forcing himself to focus.
He could put the kit through cat boot camp later, for now deputy stuff called that HE WAS TOO DEAL WITH CINDERPAW, HIM, THE DEPUTY!
"Fury lead scoutin' patrols? Sounds smart I can add that ta the roster no issue an' keep ya updated on the results. Should we keep the policy o' only apprentices over maybe eight moons wit' battle trainin' allowed? I aint plannin' ta 'ave more then one apprentice at a time ever but some o' the older ones need the good real world threat experience. Not throwin' 'em in the lions den o' course, just givin' them a real chance ta see what warrior duties entail."
Harsh times made some of the strongest most dedicated warriors, Crowtooth one of them given his experience in war before he was even 10. Apprentices raised in times of peace werent weak, of course, but there was a steel in the ones who knew what was at stake Crowtooth wanted to encourage.
So he was keen to try and walk the delicate balancing act of allowing them to experience risk but shield them from the worst of it. If allowed. Hell he already had some ideas for the first scouting roster.
