the white apprentice raced over, bouncing in place once he reached the leader. "Aunte bumble! auntie bumble auntie bumble auntie bumble!!" he purred very loudly. Cricketpaw's green eyes looked up at bumblestar as a wide smile grew on his face. "m here m here!!"
Cormorantswoop's cry cut through the tense air around the camp, her green eyes wide as she watched Bumblestar exile her brother, watched Risingstorm lead him out of camp. The massive, black mackerel tabby looked at her paws. ''Take care, brother...'' she murmured, her ears lying flat against her head. Cormorantswoop needed to distract herself. She'd miss that clueless furball, despite whether or not it was his fault he was exiled.
The warrior padded up to Bumblestar, her eyes narrowing down to slits. ''I'm sorry about my brother. I should have been keeping a better eye on him,'' Cormorantswoop shook her head. ''I'm willing to take on his apprentices, if you would like for me to. I'm nothing like Blackbirdwing, I swear.''
''The decision's up to you, though I thought I'd let you know that I'm willing to take over their training,'' she knew that Bumblestar may not want the kin of a traitor taking on the traitor's apprentices, but Cormorantswoop needed to put it out there. ''I know that Blackbirdwing being exiled---being a traitor---makes me look bad, as his sister. I know that my brother being a traitor tarnishes my reputation. I'll...I'll prove myself to you. I promise.''

Sagepaw sprinted from her nest when she heard Bumblestar call her name. Yeah...? She had never been called up by her leader before except for at her ceremony. This must be a very special task. Her gaze shifted as she saw Blackbirdwing. His tail drooping, eyes filled with anger and sadness and... tears. She had never seen her mentor cry before. Did he need cheering up? The she-cat squirmed uneasily, her jaw hanging open. She trusted her mentor and respected him. He was an amazing cat. So what was going on? Was he in trouble? Was she in trouble? But why...? She hadn't done anything wrong, had she? Uhm... I'm sorry if... if I did something bad. She murmured, shrinking back in her pelt.

With Risingstorm and (mostly unsurprisngly) Acornfall handling the exiled tom's leaving, Bumblestar was able to turn her attention to the apprentices that approached. Sunstreak and Cormorantswoop as well. Good, that meant she didn't have to go chasing after her warriors - though she did shoot the latter a quizzical look. "Your brother actin' like a fool doesn't change my opinion of you," she said flatly. "Your actions're your actions, not his. Dunno where you're gettin' that from, but you should change that quick." Hadn't she said time and time again that blood didn't matter in ThunderClan? As long as you acted like ThunderClan, that's what you were. Kin made little to no difference.
She'd put off the two warriors' questions for now, choosing instead to sit down and wave Cricketpaw and Sagepaw closer whilst ignoring the irritating title she had apparently been given. "You are absolutely fine," she grunted to Sagepaw."Done nothin' wrong. Can't say the same for Blackbirdwing. If you just missed it, he threatened to kill Orangepaw over there 'n then basically chose to exile himself, though not without some empty threats." Seriously, what was it with exiled cats saying they'd come back for revenge and then never acting on it? If you were going to hurl threats around, at least try to make it a promise.
"So with him gone, you're bein' reassigned. Since Sunstreak offered, Cricketpaw, you can continue with him. Cormorantswoop'll take you, Sagepaw." They'd volunteered. She better not hear any complaints.
Wait. Blackbirdwing had threatened to kill a Clanmate? An apprentice, at that. The massive tabby's green eyes narrowed down to slits, her large ears flicking. She nodded to Bumblestar as she spoke, then again as she reassigned Sagepaw to her almost immediately.
The warrior stepped forward to Sagepaw's side---the one Bumblestar wasn't sitting on---and bent her head to touch noses with her new apprentice. ''Don't worry, I'm nothing like my brother. But, I do want you to catch me up on what he taught you and I'll take over from there,'' Cormorantswoop mewed, her tail swaying idly behind her. ''I would like to go over hunting and battle with you, despite whether or not Blackbirdwing already taught you how. It'll give me an idea on how your thinking process works.''

Sagepaw's eyes widened in horror as Bumblestar explained the entire story. She had known Blackbirdwing for a moon now, and he had been much better than that. I... That's bad. She sputtered, her voice cracking. I-I didn't have anything to... to do with it, I... I promise. She wished she could sink away, or snuggle back to back with her sister, Beechpaw. As Cormantswoop approached her, the apprentice took a deep breath. What had she and Blackbirdwing done so far? Ah, they had only done a tour. We've seen the territory. She murmured in response, dipping her head.

''Is the territory it?'' Cormorantswoop inquired, her eyes narrowing. ''Was my brother incompetent whenever it came down to your training, Sagepaw? If all he gave you was a territory tour, then I would think so.''
