Rainydawn stayed silent. Of course moss and webs were easy, but he didn't quite know the rest.

With a silly-looking thinking face, Midnightpaw pondered what the herbs could possibly aid in. ``Agh, I don't know.. pain?`` He mewed sheepishly. I mean, hey, that answer was technically right.

Daisypaw purred at Berryshine. "I'll listen really well!!" She promised. Nuzzling Berryshines cheek before bounding back to Willowtail.
"Me me me pick me it's infect-" Daisypaw exclaimed. Getting shut down by Willowtail. "Let others answer smartass" Willowtail growled. Though her growl had no sting to it

— Nervously, Fawnpaw searched for words. What were they for? I mean.. that’s what you’ll have to find out anyways. She sighed, blinking before mewing , “Um. For.. pain? Wait— no, I-infection..?” The apprentices breath hitched as she fiddled with her paws.

Heroneye listened to Berryshine's speech. She seemed uneasy, likely from her usual shy disposition, as well as... recent events, Heroneye had to imagine. There was no point in dwelling on that, though, Heroneye supposed.

Berryshine emphasized that this information should only be used in emergencies, which Heroneye already figured. Of course, a single, basic lesson would put her and the others nowhere near the level of experience of a medicine cat. But, of course, it didn't hurt to mention, at least for the younger cats in the audience.

The medicine cat then had a question for the group: what purposes did marigold, dandelion, and goldenrod serve? Heroneye racked her brain, but she had no idea and no interest in broadcasting that fact to everyone there. So she kept her mouth shut; out of all the cats there, surely at least one of them had a right answer (and even if they somehow didn't, Berryshine would be teaching them, anyway).

Cobweb, moss; stopping bleeding, binding wounds. Makes sense, Soaringpaw could see it. Marigold, Dandelion, Goldenrod...she'd wait for the real answer to come out. There was an array of possibilities. Everyone was saying infection or pain. Numbing pain? Infection? It could be either or maybe something else entirely. Soaringpaw wouldn't know. Which...was exactly why she was here to begin with. In what situation would Soaringpaw have to use this information in the first place? It..seemed like a decent piece of knowledge and Soaringpaw liked those..but the apprentice can only hope she never needed to use the herb knowledge.

Okay - cobwebs and moss, for bleeding. Ironically, he remembered that time a warrior helped him gather moss, then injured their paw doing just that. So the cause of the problem was also the cure. They had to hold in a giggle at that.

Next, marigold. Berryshine wanted them to guess? They really had no idea, to be honest. A couple cats said in-fec-tion but he had no idea what that meant. "What's an infection?" The 'paw tilted his head, looking from the other cats to Berryshine. "And, maybe it makes a wound... Hurt less?" He didn't actually know anything about medicine cats or what they do. He just knew they healed cuts and scratches. So, making a cut wound hurt less seemed reasonable?

Cobwebs, moss, marigold, dandelion, goldenrod. Al...right...Salamanderpaw could have sworn there were only four types of things, not five, but that's only until she realizes that maybe there's a difference between some of the round yellowy blooms gathered. The marigolds and dandelions had looked like all the same stuff to her before she really bothered to scrutinize them. Well. Huh. She straightens back up for Berryshine's question, hellbent on looking engaged and smart and stuff even when the thing she's just asked is, like, basically impossible to answer. Who the heck knows all that? Some cats mention fection, or being in it, whatever that's supposed to be or be like. Salamanderpaw hopes it's a lot simpler than that.

"Um those are for when you want to put yellow in your cuts. Which is good because...yellow is....not red. Which is what blood is. So when you put a bunch of yellow in there then there's not any, like, red coming out......which means it's helping..." That's pretty much how all this stuff works right? You put some junk all up in your wounds so that the junk inside you can't get out. And the colors have to be significant somehow, or else why would Berryshine have brought out a bunch of yellow stuff besides the webs and moss? If you're losing all your red, then you have to use yellow and the yellow helps better than the green (moss) or white-y grey (cobwebs) does because it's....a better color...? Seems right to her. Maybe because it's bright and warm-ish looking, and blood is warm, it makes a more suitable replacement than something that's green or white-y grey.

Starrypaw had to admit it, she felt... kinda comforted by the Lionheart's presence. He claimed he wasn't good with younger cats, that's something she'd heard somewhere, but he seemed so... calm, and peaceful.

"Fine, I think... Thank you." She glanced at him gratefully, slowly dusting the floor with her tail. Huh, Berryshine is talking!
She gazed curiously at the herbs he held in his mouth. Some where colorful with... flowers! Oh, she loved flowers!

But how did they work?
I don't know how I can guess, it could be literally anything... But..
"M-maybe they help wounds heal faster?" She guessed in a soft whisper, glancing mostly at Rowanmane as so see his reaction and possible answer.

Whisp felt her chest squeeze slightly when Berryshine mentioned she had been delayed. With everything that happened with Cobwebfern and Stormstar…the apprentice honestly wasn’t surprised. She missed Cobwebfern, the other medic was the first healer Whispy had ever interacted with. And it was that interaction that first got her interested in herbs at all. She felt her paws tingle a little with embarrassment as she remembered how she had shamelessly tailed Cobwebfern afterwards, and she hoped that she hadn’t made a nuisance of herself. But Whispy shook herself, clearing her thoughts. Now it was time to focus!

She recognized the flower from a previous herb event she had attended, and she remembered vaguely Berryshine mentioning it had something to do with infections… “I-Is…marigold for…infections?” She guessed, her voice soft though thankfully no other cat was speaking up at the time so Berryshine should have been able to hear her. “And if so…then the others…they’re used for that too?” She felt a hot and tingly sensation in her paws, the anxiety of speaking up a guess. The terror of possibly being wrong. But her gaze conveyed only some anxiety, as she blinked at Berryshine hopefully. She was here to learn, not to be right.

It seemed momentarily after StarryPaw, another cat figured to occupy his other side. Huh…relief that not everyone hates you, hm RowanMane? He flicked his gaze to his friend, offering a flick of his tail. “I’s…” he hesitated, “…good.” What the hell was that grin? Wait- no- he knew that SeaBreeze face- but before RowanMane could act on it, the question was already out. RowanMane gave an over-dramatic eye roll but couldn’t hold back his grin. Had news really traveled? “Depen’s wha’ exactly ya heard…bu’ i’s probably true.” he huffed with a smile. She was his mate, that was all there was too it.

He then turned to StarryPaw, an apprentice he was coming quite fond of. She was kind…shy, but kind. “Tha’s good.” he then cast his attention to BerryShine as she spoke. Gosh, he was amazed how much went into all this. He could never even start to remember everything, but he’d try with these few. He had nit the slightest clue to guess though.
