She turned when she heard her name called and- oh stars above. Yars wasn’t sure what she had been expecting, but bubbly ball of fur probably wasn’t it. She noticed right away that Blackberrybat barely seemed to be older than her, how long had he been a warrior?! Was he even capable of training an apprentice?! Wait… Surely Dawnstar would never assign the kit of two enforcers to a cat who wasn’t promising. And the fact that Blackberrybat was so young and already a warrior being trusted with an apprentice should speak for itself.
Perspective Yars…perspective. Yeah, that was it. She just had to hold onto the broader picture here. Though the uncertainty still weighed her paws down as she approached her new mentor, reaching up to touch noses with him. Friends? They weren’t supposed to be friends. They were supposed to be mentor and apprentice. But…a friendly relationship with one’s mentor was preferable to a sour one right? Yars was…uncertain. But she nodded her head anyway. “Yeah, friends.” She mewed, though the skepticism was palpable in her voice.
Honestly, whatever. If this cat was going to be the one she was working with, she might as well make the most of it. Yars tried to shake herself of her skepticism. Now was not the time. Her expression brightened, this was her mentor. She was finally free of the nursery and would be training to be a powerful warrior! “I wanna be strong okay?” She informed her mentor, eyes ablaze with her determination. She made no mention of her smaller size, and it wasn’t even something that crossed her mind at this moment. “I wanna be a formidable warrior, an enforcer like my dad’s. So don’t hold back okay!” She grinned with excitement.
Her words were less of a question and more of a statement. Clearly, for a cat to become a warrior and be assigned an apprentice so young, this cat had skills. Dawnstar recognized them. So there had to be something to this guy. Yars just had to allow him to mold her into a strong warrior, and her dreams would be achieved. She’d show Mimicpaw and Talonpaw. She’d show the whole clan if she had to. Yars would prove to everycat that her name will be feared and respected among all the clans. That was what she wanted for herself.

Blackberrybat purred at the response, he could tell that the apprentice was a little unsure about him, but he was used to that response. Most of the crowd here in Shadowclan is all business and no fun, which isn't a bad thing, they were the best clan for a reason, but he wasn't like that so much. He knew when to get serious but liked being friendly and light for his clanmates. Right now though, he made his face a bit more serious as he listened to the apprentice's wants, and nodded in agreement. "Having the eagerness and want is the first step, I will do everything I can to help you be the strongest!"
He motioned towards the grimpeak with his ears, "We'll begin right after this meeting if you want, but we get to see some warrior ceremonies right now." He reached forward to press his nose to Yarrowpaw's forehead if she allowed him to, the traditional greeting between mentor and apprentice. He felt it was a nice way to conclude this conversation for now. Listening to any last words that the calico may have before he found a seat again. He wasn't expecting Yarrowpaw to sit with him, she had family after all, but he showed the offer with a pat of his feathered tail to his left.

Spiritpaw shut his mouth and narrowed his eyes, looking over to where this "Lionpaw" was, apparently. Sit with them? Hell no! He had to get out of ShadowClan! Being made an apprentice here made nothing better! What was he going to do? Just bolt out of the camp now?
Sootstorm sighed. ''I know that you're not used to the idea of having a mentor, Spiritpaw, or having to undergo training---especially with two other apprentices having me as their mentor, as well---but I do hope that you'll warm up to me eventually,'' She mewed, leading the way back over to Lionpaw.

Flytail approached his brother with a measured step, his blue eyes gleaming with quiet pride. The sight of Owlthroat standing beside Mimicpaw stirred a sense of satisfaction within him, and for a moment, his stern expression softened. "Looks like you’ve got a good one, Owlthroat," Flytail said, his voice warm, though still carrying its usual authority. He glanced at Mimicpaw, then back to his brother, his tone filled with approval. "You’ve always had a way of pushing them to be their best. It’s good to see that same drive in your son." His gaze softened, a rare flicker of genuine affection in his eyes as he continued, "I’m proud of you, brother. You’ve built something strong, and it shows in your family. They’ll be warriors to be reckoned with, just like you." But then, without missing a beat, his voice turned more serious as he looked around the clearing, his eyes narrowing at the empty spot where Pantherpaw should have been.
"That said," Flytail added, his tone firm once more, "I’m not thrilled about Pantherpaw’s lateness. If you’re going to lead these young ones, you’ve got to hold them accountable—every time. Lateness isn’t just a mistake; it’s a habit, and habits are hard to break once they start." He glanced at his brother, his gaze sharp but understanding. "You don’t want to let them think they can get away with things like that. It’s about discipline, plain and simple." Flytail gave a brief nod to Owlthroat. "But I know you’ll handle it. You’ve always known when to be tough. Just don’t let them take advantage of your patience." His eyes softened again, this time with quiet reassurance. "You’re doing great, Owlthroat. Your family’s lucky to have you guiding them."
