His tattered ears shift away from the enchanting song towards the incoming paw steps. His head does not turn and his pale blue orb remains fixated on the ocean's mesmerizing waves. It's the twitching nose that finally breaks the spell. The scent wafted towards him too thick and earthy and didn't blend well with the lighter fresh scent of the sea. ThunderClan. His curiosity bloomed intensely as the cat was kind enough to greet him with a name after her comment.
Blazerunner. Now that was quite a stunning name. One eye gradually rolls in the ThunderClanner's direction, though his head remains stationary. It's barely a side glance and then back to the ocean. The name matched the cat with colors as striking as hers.
"Seadog." The warrior response is clipped yet neutral. He was one of those strong silent types who spoke the bare minimum.
He falls silent allowing the soft waves to fill the void. He doesn't have to wait long before a second cat accompanies him. This one's scent is more comfortable than Blazerunner's. She settled on his other side, another glance and its back to the water. Softdaisy. A clanmate. He gives her the barest nod of his chin in greeting.
"Too much noise?" His voice is deep and rough with a slight rasp to it.
His words were directed to either she-cat. He wished to inquire why he had their company but could have trouble putting plain thought to words. The black cat lifts his head as a stray wave leaps and showers his muzzle in small, cold kisses. His pink tongue escapes its prison to gently lick the salty droplets, briefly warming the scarred skin around it. He was ever so curious about what brought not one but two she-cats to his side.
Seadog often kept to himself. He wasn't one to enjoy isolation otherwise he wouldn't be in a clan as large as RiverClan. He simply wasn't very good at socializing. Seadog was more of a listener, but his long silences could often be offputting. It didn't help that he was the type of tom to live in the moment. Grudges weren't something he held for long as he preferred focusing on the bigger picture and moving forward. It went against the clans, who feuded, held grudges, and tore each other apart at the slightest provocation. Or the warriors who immediately decided that every cat from an opposing clan needed to be treated with caution and disrespect for merely doing their duty.
He didn't look down on any of the clans for it. He wasn't arrogant enough to believe he was above them. He fought who was told to fight, and felt resentment and hatred, but he felt what he felt and then let go. His time watching RiverClan continuously be viewed in a darker light due to a few morons' terrible actions and decisions has taught him well. He was no peace-loving fool who'd chastised cats for living how they were raised and trained. Yet he couldn't help but wish the clans could be a bit more like the ocean, rage, storm, and tear apart whatever threatened them, but allow calm to come and let bygones be bygones before throwing themselves at the next battle.

CrowPaw let out a breath of relief at her brothers welcoming nature. Of course, what did she expect? This was her little Raccoon after all. She knew her little brother. He was amazing and smart and kind. He’d be a great warrior…unlike herself. She went and sat next to her little brother, her muscles still tense and ready for…who knew what! “Th-thanks…I’m…okay…you kn-know…I-…I just d-don’t l-like crowds…n’ s-stuff.” her voice started to fade out at the end, shifting into a whisper.
Raccoonpaw ♦ He / Him ♦ Riverclan apprentice ♦ 7+ moons
Racc watched his sister's move, nodding slowly in response. The younger apprentice gave an affectionate nudge to his older sister's shoulder with his nose, he flashed his best attempt at a reassuring smile that he could.
He turned his attention back to the Thunderclan apprentice he was interacting with prior to his sister's approach "This is Butterflypaw! She's from Thunderclan! Isn't that cool? Remember when-" He paused, his smile dropping slightly "Remember when we'd all chase butterflies together when I was still a kit?" Raccoonpaw did his best to delicately dance around the direct mention of his missing and dead siblings.
He cleared his throat, shifting a bit closer to Crowpaw, looking between the two other apprentices "and Butterfly, This is Crowpaw! She's my big sister! I bet she's going to be one of the best Riverclan warrior yet! The other clans better watch out" He said, obviously joking about the last part, though he genuinely did believe his sister would excel in her training despite everything.

Butterflypaw listened as Raccoonpaw introduced Crowpaw. "Hi!" She said cheerfully as an introduction.
Best RiverClan warrior?
Well, at least it was RiverClan, not ThunderClan, because obviously her sibling would be taking that title in ThunderClan. For now, it was Papa though, for sure.
She then got curious about something completely off topic. "Do you guys think ShadowClan'll show up?" She asked, glancing around, noticing the lack of the mentioned clan.
Well, the gathering could go on without them if they didn't, right?

Cobwebstorm wasn't coming. Eaglepaw wasn't sure what was up with her friend, but she seemed... shaken. The apprentice wasn't going to press her, but maybe she'd check in after the Gathering.
Stars, the Gathering. Her first one in... how many moons? It didn't matter. It seemed that ThunderClan and WindClan had not changed much since she last saw them. Same Leaders, same Deputies. WindClan with the same Medicine Cats, and ThunderClan with all new ones. Interesting. Eaglepaw settled down well within the RiverClan group, watching the gathered cats with curious green eyes. Hawkfur trailed behind his eager kittens, a dopey grin on his face. Their first Gathering... this was an incrcedibly important day! He hoped the other clans would not cause trouble, especially not tonight. The last thing he wanted was for his children to be caught up in the squabbling of ridiculous adults. Hawkfur gave each of his kits a lick on the forehead and a quiet wish of "have fun!" before moving through the crowd and settling near the back, waiting for the Gathering to start.

She didn't want to be here. That much was obvious in her body language. Violetfreckle walked slowly, dragging her paws and tail on the ground. Her fluffy fur was disheveled, a clear sign that she'd been ignoring her physical needs. If cats could have dark circles under their eyes, Vi would look like a raccoon right about now. There was a hollow feeling in her stomach. She didn't know if it was hunger or just grief. She'd forgotten how to tell the difference between the two. Her only solace right now was that Bumblestar seemed better than she was at the meeting. Hell, she scaled the icy rocks with ease. Violetfreckle just hoped she wouldn't fall again. She stuck close just in case she had to be an impromptu cushion for her mate. Other than that, the only two places she looked were at Bumblestar and at her paws. If anyone came to talk to her, she might just bite their head off. Metaphorically or literally, she hadn't decided; that remained to be seen.

“I can fix her!”
Seeing one of her clanmates sitting all on her lonesome, Adderstrike got up and walked over to sit next to her. "Its too cold to sit on one's own." Adderstrike said with a warm smile in replacement of a 'can I sit here'. And by how the winds were blowing tonight, Adderstrike was hoping that another one of her clan mates were willing to help with warmth. When was Shadowclan going to get here? Or were they skipping this moon,... Did they skip the previous one? Was there even a gathering last moon?
Though why was Wisteriawren sitting in the shadows anyways...? She tried to play back in her mind why the reason for this might be. To tell the truth she was barely ever up to date with anyone's dramas as she always had her nose to the grindstone. It did make her life simpler but also it made it harder in times like this when it seemed like something was troubling the soul of another one of her clan members. "Hey..." Adderstrike started with a warm tone trying to start a conversation. "Do you ever look to the stars and make animals out of them? Like that one up there, it kinda looks like a trout, if trout looked a bit smushed." She motioned her paw in the air trying to point out the bundle of stars she liked most.
She/Her | Purrk(s): Just A Scratch
Nearly jumping out of her skin when a shadow appears at her side, the classic tabby only calms when the whiff of RiverClan accompanies her denmate. "It is," Wisteriawren says, voice oh-so-soft, and that is all she says on the matter. She knows she should not have sat back here, all alone, vulnerable to catching a cold and making herself more burdensome on the Clan. Oh, sweet honeysuckles, she really hadn't been thinking, had she? How could she even think to have poor Berryshine and Cobwebfern do more work? "Thank you, Adderstrike." The gratitude was a tad louder, because stars, the warrior was being so thoughtful by joining her.
Ducking her head in embarrassment at the supposed problems she would have caused, Wisteriawren only raised her eyes once more at the likening of stars to... trouts? Animals? And then the queen - her impending motherhood was unknown even to her - is fascinated, eyes softening with wonder as she gazes up at the stars. "Oh. It's very pretty." No wonder the Clans believed in StarClan. She herself wished to know so badly what all those twinkling lights looked like from up close.

“I can fix her!”
Adderstrike just smiled nicely at the thank you. Then pondered if Wisteriawren was even making out the trout she saw or was just being polite. Questioning it seemed rude so Adderstrike left it to never knowing. It wasn't that big of a deal, though maybe if she pointed out more star patterns she saw then Wisteria would see the grand picture? Before she could speak a rather rude gust of wind assaulted Adderstrike and made her shiver. "We are going to catch a could waiting for Shadowclan..." Adderstrike grumbled with annoyance as she wrapped her tail around her newly made friend. If someone was going to catch a cold tonight, Adderstrike was going to fall on that dagger. "Wisteria." Adderstrike suddenly spoke. "I think we should do something when newleaf comes around... You have a good eye with pretty flowers, what if we picked some and decorated the entrances of dens and the camp? Er,... If there is even a flower out there that doesn't have a herb usage." Adderstrike said as she tapped her chin trying to remember flowers of all kinds. The only ones being the medicine kind. Though the thought of a vibrant clan did seem like it would be a nice thing to be greeted to after all this snow!

Another moon, another Gathering! Windpaw wasn't particularly excited for this one, given all the weird events that had been going around. She tried to stay positive, she really did. But now that she isn't a kit anymore, now that she isn't naive, it really opened her eyes to the cruel world. Everything wasn't all sunshine and endless grassy plains anymore. She was mature enough to tell the difference between good and bad news.
With a slightly disheveled look, Windpaw sat amongst the rest of the cats at the gathering, tail curled over her back. She just wished she could stop seeing the bad in things anymore. She wanted so badly to be naive again, to be the young, foolish kit she once was. Being positive was getting harder and harder by the day, and she wasn't even sure why. Her training hadn't even been going good, and she had been trying to blame it on the weather, her mentors duties, her duties, and... Basically everything.
'Just give 'em a chance! We'll get right back to training in a couple o' days, no problem! I'm sure it's no big deal, plus, I get a tooooooon of free time, right?' She had said, a wide smile on her face. But she was beginning to feel something else about it. Like... What if her mentor had already given up on her? What if her energetic demeanour drew him away? What if he thought she was annoying?
Well. She'd never know.

Wobbling towards the Seastones on unsteady paws, Orangeslice cautiously eyed the OtherClanners that were there before WindClan. Thank the stars ShadowClan wasn't here already, though. It would have kinda been embarassing if WindClan were the last Clan to arrive.
Making sure she had the most pleasant of expressions plastered to her face, the scarred feline shouldered their way through the sea of cats and finally took a seat at a decently populated spot.

There.
There she was.
He could almost swear her fur was sparkling in the moonlight...Ahem, due to the frost, obviously. Yellow eyes locked with hers and he lifted a paw as he began to head for her. Too quickly, he was interrupted. Brackenclaw approached. He couldn't let the more experienced Hornet think there was something off about their interaction. Clearing his throat, he cast a somewhat longing and apologetic look at Scorpionsight before turning to Brackenclaw.
"Ah, well, yanno..." He searched for words. After a moment, a sigh escaped him. Dropping his voice lower so he couldn't be heard by anyone other than Brackenclaw, his gaze looked defeated. "Honestly, I'm not sure I deserve such an honor." He admitted, ears flattening. "I feel like I failed." He was sure he didn't have to specify to his travel companion
and newfound friend.
Brackenclaw would understand his feelings but would meow in his deep and dark voice. "I failed you did exactly what you were tasked with from Starclan you should be proud. Also if the Higher Ups think you deserve the rank of hornet then you obviously deserve it. And if I'm being honest I believe you deserve it too." Brackenclaw would meow.
