rookfire pushed through the crowd, ignoring the minor fight that had sparked between two warriors and found his spot at the side of the crowd. pale claws clinking against the icy ground, it felt sort of wrong to sit here, not an hr, not an enforcer, what business did he have sitting in the spot he purposefully chose to monitor the crowd? in his current state, annoyed and sick, he wouldnt be the best at breaking up fights anyway. the dark tom sighed, fixing grey eyes on dawnstar. he wasnt a candidate for earning new apprentices, not after his demotion, not while cinderpaw was still an apprentice, but he was mildly curious if there would be any new warriors. cinderpaw could use a warrior now, slowly but surely, rookfire was almost sure she had been a apprentice when he himself started..well, restarted his training with lostspark.
the cold barely bothered him anymore, caught up between feeling like he was about to drop dead the next time he stood, hallucinations lunging at him and swirling memories of blazingstar. did he have anyone besides him? not really. not like he didnt already usually stick to himself, realising he was truly alone still hurt. what representation of shadowclan was he, really? angry and alone, his only friend a former windclan leader long dead and only in his dreams. rook supressed a bitter laugh, what if the leader wasnt even real in the first place? simply another trick of his mind. it was humorous, sort of at least. so alone he made up a bloody leader of all people.
letting his gaze drift over the crowd slowly gathering, rookfire kept his eyes open for anyone in need anyway. he had to be of some use at the very leasts. stars damn it.

MIDNIGHTSUN
[ he/him | shadowclan warrior | 40s ]
thick dark fur laying surprisingly neatly for a guy that had been outside in the first place, midnightsun approached briarsplash with a grin on his maw. the enforcer hadnt seemed overly convinced of him the last time they spoke but he wasnt the kind of guy to back down, even after the rejection she had greeted him with last time. even if she turned out to despise him despite all efforts, midnight could always argue that it was networking he was trying to be nice and a visible presence around the clan. reaching for more than what was bestowed upon him wasnt an easy feat and he knew it, but getting all buddy buddy with the enforcers must be a good step. what he refused to acknowledge was the genuine need for some connection, no matter what position briarsplash held at the moment. he admired her personality and spirit, and who could blame him for it! "hey there~"
the smile was honest and he attempted to catch her eye as he sat, multi colour tail curled around himself in an effort to shield his mismatched paws from the cold gusts of wind. entirely ignorant to the fact that most cats didnt quite take physical contact as casually as he did, he didnt even take notice of the fact that their fur brushed. midnightsun turned to gaze up at dawnstar, eyes still crinkled slightly with the smile remaining on his maw despite the frankly disgusting weather.
roachflare poked his head out of the warriors den, spotted nose wrinkling at the cold outside, before stepping onto the slippery ground a little too carefree and slipping. eating dirt wasnt the plan but when was it ever. the tortoiseshell got back to his paws. the fall wasnt far at least, he was too short to genuinely hurt himself from slipping. with considerably less spring in his step than usual, the small tom snaked his way through the crowd to find a spot large enough for himself and mudslide that would provide warmth but give them space. craning his neck, he kept mismatched eyes open for the one warrior he genuinely wanted close during the cold. mudslide was important now, and while she definitely still payed attention to him and bug was proud of her, it had gotten a bit harder to keep track of her at all times. who knew being an enforcer meant being annoyed more often than the average warrior. hm. it did make sense.
Pondlily looked up from washing one of her front paws whenever she heard a familiar voice behind her, and a welcoming purr arose in her throat whenever her river-blue eyes landed on her former mentor, Tuftedtusk.
“Hiya,” The blue-gray mackerel tabby greeted the Enforcer with a wave of her tail and a playful headbutt to the shoulder. “How’ve you been? Those kits of yours keeping you on your paws day and night?”
Pondlily’s voice was teasing, a sparkle in her eyes. “That Talonkit sure is lively. And I saw you watching me teach her the hunter’s crouch a couple days ago; I think that you’ll be proud to know that Talonkit will make a great hunter.”

Mothcloud was getting old. Her joints starting to ache a bit. The graying molly limped into the clearing. Settling down beside her on Fallenmoon and his mate Meadowwhisper

Ice. Everywhere. Newtbelly still didn't know how to feel about leaf bare. He'd lived 20 moons now, but apparently that wasn't long enough to form an opinion. The scarcity of prey was certainly not a plus, nor was the heightened likelihood of disease - or even injury on days like this. That, and his pelt didn't do much to protect him from the cold. Still, as he nosed his was out of the warriors' den, he couldn't help but admire the state of the clearing. Dismal, yes. But dismal in a way so undeniably... Beautiful? Eugh. He wasn't one to use that word.
The tom picked his way over the ice, being exceedingly careful with his pawsteps. He couldn't think of anything more embarrassing than tripping in front of the whole clan. There would be ceremonies today. New apprentices, he figured. He hoped he'd get a new one, with Silentpaw's change in path. A small sigh escaped him. It was embarrassing to think about, but he did miss the kid. No other apprentice had matched his own personality quite so well. Not that the other two were poor apprentices - very far from it. Newtbelly, being the way he was, would always favour a cat similar to himself. All that contemplating reminded him of Tickpaw. Where even was that kid? His claws dug into the ice below him. What part of Newtbelly's training had given the 'paw the impression that it was okay to run off alone? That had to be what happened. A cat can't go missing without leaving camp.
Ah well. He tried to let the emotion leave his system, let go of it. The only thing more embarrassing than slipping over, would be outwardly displaying such feelings. He'd have many more apprentices in his time, nothing to fret about. If he got another today, maybe they'd be able to spar with Stempaw.
....They were sitting at the nursery entrance, watching the clearing until they saw dawnstar go into the clearing and say something that they didn't know what it meant but they saw cats gathering around, they were contemplating on whether to go out there or not, and step on the cold substance on the ground.
They saw a random apprentice and decided to run to them until they flopped down as their foot went into the squishy ground that felt very could, they didn't like it, but they got their foot out from the ground and continued running towards them, ears flopping as they went, feet making little tracks in the snow, a long with a little thud everytime they hit the ground with their paws.
They finally got to the apprentice and plopped on the ground beside them. looking at their paws that have a little icey substance on them, but didn't mind and looked back up at the apprentice. "Hewooooo" they said all wide eyed.
Littleglory tries to fluff their fur to evade the chill, but it creeps through the thin hair and to their skin anyway. He wasn't keen on leaving the Warrior's den, but even sitting in the entrance didn't provide the warm they wish it did.
Perhaps someone would be willing to share some heat? A shiver shakes their limbs, and they look over the clearing to find a bundle of fur to saddle up next to. Conviently, Littleglory watches a little kit bound over the ice to an apprentice. He's sure they'd welcome more warm bodies.
With the utmost caution, the dark blue cat places a paw out and hisses at the sharp sting of snow on their already sensitive pads. It's uncomfortable, but after another step it becomes bareable. Though, perhaps, that's just the growing numbness. The warrior makes their way through the frosted ground to lay on the other side of the kitten, tucking their white paws under them. The simple brush of fur puts them at ease.

Dual-colored eyes looked down as a kit skittered up to the apprentice,
looking like a disaster. How did cats have whole litters of these creatures.
Sure, they were cute. But also obnoxious. Starrypaw blinked as the kit greeted them in a squeaky tone. "Hello." He greeted, tone nicer then intended when greeting the kit. Gosh. They always made cats so soft, the kits did. It was irritating. The apprentice inspected the kit with a watchful eye, making sure they didn't fidget as Starrypaw so often did and slip on the ice.
Just as Starrypaw opened her mouth to say something to the kit, a warrior walked up. Littleglory, was it? Starrypaw nodded to the warrior, warmth from their body on the otherside of the kit making the cold slightly more bearable.
Holy hells, finally. Grottokit poked his head out of Mother's den as she exited to start the meeting. Find someone to sit with... what a load of garbage, he didn't need to sit with anyone. Whatever.
"You." He attached himself to some random warrior as he walked out into the clearing, avoiding slick patches. "Sit with me. Mother said so."
Owlthroat
he/him | Shadowclan Enforcer | 44 moons Killer Aptitude T3 - Just A Scratch - Silver Tongue T2 The Dancing Bird
At Dawnstar’s roar Owlthroat peeked his head out of the warrior’s den, the floor a sheer icey mess. His paws trod carefully, in between patches. But he wasn’t graceful. He felt a paw slip out every now and again, only thankful that he didn’t completely fall on his rump.
He made his way over, noticing Coyotepaw sat, eyes full of anticipation. Giving him a nod before taking a seat by his side, ”How’ve you been?” The tom hadn’t much opportunity to catch up with the youngster, with his training done Owlthroat never saw much of a reason. But of course if he was to receive his warrior’s name this meeting he’d be there to take the majority of the credit. Another fine warrior underneath his belt he hoped.
He glanced around the clearing, it felt a lot emptier than usual with the elders sheltering in dens and the vast majority of the kits tucked away in the nursery. He prayed that Dawnstar wouldn’t let this one drag on for too long, the chill in the air bit into his extremities. Times like this he remained thankful of his thicker pelt, despite how time consuming the maintenance could be.
He caught the eyes of Nightshiver. Flashing the scarred molly a warm smile, she had her paws full with the few kits that had been brave enough to venture out. Slipping and sliding in different directions, hopefully not causing too much injury to themselves or others. He’d pay her a visit soon enough, perhaps bring her some extra prey. Starclan knows the forever queen had earned it.
Addercliff slunk towards the grimpeak hearing the yowl, his larger ears permanently airplaned to each side, their tail lashing to either side. "what now...?"
