Silverleopard touched her tail tip to Acornfall’s shoulder in an effort to soothe him, though she spoke no words.

Briarmask

The smaller she rests her head on his chest, finding comfort in Acornfall's warm scent as it envelopes her. She'd made the connection before it was voiced, but perhaps needed the confirmation before it could really set in. She didn't personally know him either, but to lose a child, and to sickness at that... her heart aches for Bumblestar. She couldn't imagine losing someone so close, it would be crippling, especially if she were to lose Acornfall- or Wrenwing. Stars, how could she ever recover from such grief- it makes her only more sympathetic to her leader, imagining how her life would be if she were in her pelt. Lonely. Depressing. Empty. But if she goes any farther with that mental image she'll surely break down to tears, so she drops it, setting her focus on the cats around her. The very much alive cats surrounding her.
Hearing another molly's soft voice, she peeks over Acorn's shoulder, curled ears perked. She smiles and nods to Weepingwillow as she greets her, flushing at the unexpected compliment and burying half of her face in the fur of her mate's shoulder to hide it.

"T-thank you, it's n-nice to meet you Weepingwillow," She says shyly, her small voice muffled by Acornfall's fur.

She smiles and dips her head to Silverleopard and Nightwhisper too, offering Emberpaw a grin (forgetting that her mouth is out of view from the rest, but it shows in her eyes).

Acornfall didn't know the tom well, they only patrolled together maybe once. But he looked up to Wolfhive, he admired him. Aspired to be like him. A leader, strong and reliable. Somecat that could protect everycat else. It was a harsh, uncaring reality...that a cat as strong and dependable as Wolfhive...could be taken out by a sickness.

It made him bring Briarmask closer to him. He needed...to be stronger. Not just strong enough to physically protect her, but strong enough to beat any sickness. It was when Weepingwillow spoke up that he remembered there were other cats around him, not that he pulled away. "Right! Weepingwillow, Silverleopard, this is my mate: Briarmask." He practically purred her name. "I'm sorry you're meeting officially under these...circumstances." He chuckled anxiously.

Weepingwillow purred softly at Briarmask. Looking down as Emberpaw smiled cutely at Briarmask's grin. Emberpaw gently pressed his muzzle to the shecats shoulder in greeting. Emberpaw looked up at Nightwhisper. His father not noticing him as he gently licked Weepingwillows pelt down. Emberpaw crouched. Looking at his father. Glancing st his mother who winked and then Acornfall. Silent ask for confirmation if he could tackle his father.

She was safe, well accounted for. A wave of relief washed over the tom once he'd seen this, the brief look over his shoulder easily missable with the blink of an eye. His attention was now at the group of felines below him, anxiety welling up in his gut. Oh. He hated talking in front of crowds, he absolutely hated this. He'd have her do something to make up for it, yes.

After a very....very, long awkward moment, the deputy cleared his throat. His cheek still very angry, the gentle wind doing him no favors as it flickered with pain. It was still healing, he has yet to go get checked out. He didn't care , however. Or it was more so he didn't have time. Too busy thinking, and truthfully these days that's what took up most of his time. Especially like right now. He had to figure out how to continue off where Bumblestar left off.

Ears twitched, and suddenly the calico had an idea. He'd been wanting to do this, and truthfully, even though Bumblestar was beside herself, it had been well earned. "With the sickness that took over ThunderClan, we lost many lives, all of which Bumblestar announced except one. Our Hornet team has suffered a great loss, an Wolfhive has been buried beside the Clanmates we'd lost to this Sickness." a pause as he gave them a second to grieve. A quick solom look back at his leader.

But he had no time to linger, he wanted off this podium. "With the loss of a Hornet, however, especially our Head hornet, comes a need to announce another," he began "One who worked tiredlessly to bring back the cure. Though it may not feel like it, or seem like it. Hard work an dedication was poured into those three, though one went missin along the journey, who explored unknown lands to find what was needed to keep the Clan alive." he began. Trying his absolute best to seem pretty serious.

"Raggedear. ThunderClan recognizes your hard work and devotion, an is more 'n happy acceptin you into our Hornet Rankin's. We continue to expect big things out of you. Don't let us down." he announced. A stern look sent towards the Warrior. [ @korok ]

"An though heavy hearted, We cannot sit in what has happened, an gotta prepare for what's to come. With the announcement of a new Hornet. I'll also be announcin our new Head Hornet." he stated. Surely others would be upset with his brashness, but he refused to wallow and melt in his feelings. He had a clan to uphold damnit.

"RisinStorm." he bellowed, looking the tabby in the eyes. Look serious, a hint of malice. [ @Spider ]

"You've shown for moons you're more than up for the task, you've got big paws to fill." he began, voice unwavering, eyes narrowing. "An I have no doubt in my mind you'll rise up to that challenge." and for the first time in seasons. Spiderthroat smiled. Lopsided, awkward, uncute smile.

A hefty sigh was heaved from the tom. As much as he wanted to be, he wasn't done. Two more felines deserved a spotlight, a well deserved one as well. It wouldn't be like how it normally is, not at all. But. Today was an abnormal day, and this was an abnormal meeting.

"Alpinepaw an Mallowpaw. Step up to the Stormcrest." Spiderthroat sternly instructed. Giving the pair of them a second to step up.

Normally, one would give them a moment to breathe, and to accept whatever it is he's to give to them ceremonial wise. But. This wasn't going to be like how Bumblestar did things.

"The pair of you will be Wolfehive's final Apprentices. Fully trained, fully capable of Warriorhood. You've proven, through this sickness, and through his struggles, that you're beyond capable an able to support this Clan. Your bond with Wolfhive acting as your Oath to this Clan." a pause. For dramatic effect. Call him fancy or whatever he'd probably agree.

With this, at this point in time, the sky had slowly been becoming more and more saturated. Half a soft bright blue, the other a mix of orange's and purples, hint's of pink mingled in the middle. His whiskers twitched in amusement. "From this moment onwards, Alpinepaw, you'll be known as Alpinemoon.

Mallowpaw, you'll be known as, from now on, Mallowswarm" an ear twitch as he announced the pair's name. Both names were very different, yet connected. He hoped they understood why.

"With this, each of you have a little piece of your mentor to live with, and to uphold as new Warriors of ThunderClan, I expect no less, and hope you strive to achieve as big of things as he did." brat almost flipping from his tongue. He had to be civil, no jokes, felines were hurt.

After giving his clanmates a moment to collect themselves, to cheer for all the new promotoins Spiderthroat began to turn, attempting to make his way down from the Stormcrest. That was, until a thought struck him like lightning.

With a look over his shoulder, Spiderthroat kept his face as impartial as he could. "Times were awful, an times are still rough. But we can't let it drag us down, an we won't. I expect nothin but your best at all time's. If you're best is cleanin out moss for that day, than so be it. Give me your all, and in turn. Our Clan will continue to thrive. With that, I'll also, as I always do, give you lot my all. We're all learnin how to lean on one another, an we ain't doin half bad." a snort.

"Meetin dismissed."

And with that, Spiderthroat fully clambered down the Stormcrest. If someone looked closely enough, before he slunk into the shadows, they would have seen just how much his legs were shaking.

AutumnSong sat amongst her Clanmates, listening to what SpiderThroat had to say.
Although she wasn't quite paying attention at what the calico had said beforehand, she at least heard two apprentices earn their warrior names.
AlpineMoon and MallowSwarm.
She had to admit, those were both good choices. She was sure they will serve their Clan for seasons to come. Good for them!
As chants of the two newly named warriors arose in the Clan, AutumnSong joined in,
"AlpineMoon, MallowSwarm!" AutumnSong cheered loudly, holding her head up high, her nose pointed towards the sky.
After a few more channts and cheers for the two, the Clan had quieted down as SpiderThroat silenced them, preparing to finish up the meeting.
The deputy had said a few more thngs, all of which didn't seem the most important to AutumnSong, so again, just like before, she didn't quite catch wat he had said.
Eventually, after a moment, the Clan had finally been dismissed, leaving AutumnSong to do as she pleased for some time.
Maybe she'd nap..

What followed was a somewhat standard meeting, if you don’t count the different speaker, speech pattern and everything else, Fernwhisper and Oakkit listened to the announcements, one more scared than the other, but both chanting at about the same volume.

As Spiderthroat took over Bumblestar’s place on the Stormcrest and began speaking of the sickness, Raggedear felt his stomach drop. Would his Clanmates blame him for Wolfhive’s death? He wouldn’t blame them for feeling that way. However, he kept his yellow eyes locked onto the deputy, forcing his fur to lie flat. The normally happy-go-lucky tom had a deep guilt that was eating at him so. But he would have to continue. He would work his paws off until it was time to join StarClan to pay for his untimely-ness.

Black ears twitched in surprise as Spiderthroat began talking about a new Hornet being added to the team. Well, it did make sense, as much as the shame and guilt gnawed at his belly for the reasoning why they were looking for a new Hornet. Who would-

Wait. Him?

The large tom blinked, clearly stunned, but quickly leapt to his paws and cleared his throat. He was doing his best to seem like his normal self. ”Thank you, Spiderthroat! I won’t let you- no, ThunderClan- down!” He purred, eyes sparkling with determination.

As Risingstorm was called the new Head Hornet, Raggedear cheered loudly. ”Risingstorm! Risingstorm!” He hadn’t worked with them much, but now was a better time than ever! At least he already knew Brackenclaw decently well after their journey. He should speak to him soon and see how he was doing.

”Alpinemoon! Mallowswarm! Alpinemoon! Mallowswarm!”
