Newtpaw needed something to do, otherwise he'd start his fits again. Training would be the best thing to do, if he was ever to become the best warrior in all clan history. The wind brushed over his nose, and he let out a large sneeze, causing a couple of cats to look his way. Hey! Uhm... Newtbelly... He mewed, tilting his head as the warrior approached. Can you take me out to do some training? He purred, flicking his tail.

Newtbelly found himself sat in the clearing, cleaning his paws. ShadowClan territory's mud always found its way into them some way or another. Not much was going on. Maybe he should head out hunting? Life felt less busy with only one apprentice. He stood up, preparing to head out, before a sneeze, and then a voice, caught his attention. One of the apprentices... What was his name... Newtpaw? He seemed enthusiastic about training. He'd never turn that down (plus, being asked for training fed his ego just the right amount). "'Course." He responded, wiping his paw dry. "Newtpaw, was it? How about we do some combat?" He added, stretching out his back.

"Mhhm." With combat, they wouldn't need to leave the clearing. Though, it could be beneficial? He glanced around - eh, it wasn't busy, they'd be fine. He'd rather not put the 'paw in danger by heading out. "Let's stick to camp." He stood up, shaking any fatigue from his legs. "Have you done any combat before? What do you know so far?"

He nodded. They'd be doing basics then. "Let's start with something simple then," he backed up, making a bit of space between them. "A good defence against oncoming attackers is a front paw blow." He demonstrated, lifting his paw high before slamming it down on the air. "You bring your forepaw down on your opponent's head. Normally keeping your claws sheathed. Wanna try it out?"

Very impressive for a first try. "Nice one." He praised him. "Now, let's try it in action." He stopped to shake his fur out, "I'm gonna run at you, and you need to fend me off with the forepaw blow." He readied up, adapting a slight crouch. "Don't worry about going easy on me, it'll be fine." He exclaimed, before bounding toward Newtpaw.

The bat hit pretty well, knocking Newtbelly back for a second. "Good job," he commented. "Once your opponent's stunned, you can go in and attack." He explained. "Let's try... A forepaw slash." He demonstrated, slashing his paw through the air, claws unsheathed. "Give it a go on the air. You wanna give it a good slash with your claws. It's an easy and quick way to do damage."
