Smoke that never cleared (open)
Duck
Kittypet ~^~ Former Tc
OPEN It had been too long. The cream colored tom watched soft yellow lights and meandering twolegs from the edge of his city. It felt like ages since he had first left to find Foxwillow. Then he had never expected to get trapped forever and he had certainly had never expected to be back now of his own accord, especially not after turning down the clan who'd raised him. Despite it having been awhile ago his interaction with the young warrior still weighed heavily on his shoulders. There was something so unsettling about how trapped she had been in her ways. Thunderclan truly is too blind for words. But he wasn't here to think about that. Lily, his real family, needed saving. The bell on his collar tinkled as he picked his path down the sidewalk. Curving his way down the now-familar roads and backyards. His head thruming with memories of that night. Of the fire and smoke and loud shrill noise. Of those two strangers he had met with. The moment where Lily had fallen through the stairs. He hadn't been here since everything had happened. He wasn't sure what he expected, but this uneasy feeling wasn't it. Every corner felt like a trap that would bring those things back into reality. Every shadow threatened to come to life and swallow him whole. But they didn't. C'mon all you've been doing for the past year is chase after missing loved ones. Nothing's different now. He grit his teeth, and continued. Soon the moon got too high and the sky too dark. He knew he still had quite the ways to go before he made it to his twoleg nest. As much as the kittypet didn't want to stop now it was riduclous to force himself to make the journey exhaused, especially with monsters still on the prowl. Pausing he did a quick search of the area. Finding a shadowy cat figure. His stomach dropped but he put on his friendliest smile, perked up his ears and approached them. "Hello there friend! Quite the lovely night isn't it?" He puncuated this greeting with a small purr. The fluffy tom made sure to look friendly while also scanning the stranger for any signs of hostility. As rusty as his warrior training might have gotten he had a ways to go before devolving into a complete idiot.
