Redsurge emerged from the warrior's den, feeling refreshed after a good night's rest. Blue-and-yellow hues flicked around the camp until they landed on an unfamiliar calico, and the russet-and-white braided tabby made her way over to the cat, plucking a carp off the fresh-kill pile on her way there.
Settling down beside the calico, Redsurge looked up at her Clanmate. "Hiya! I'm Redsurge. Wanna share this?" She gestured to the carp at her paws.

"Uhm... Hello, Seapaw..." She murmured at the other apprentice as she crossed paths with him. She was walking on the frozen ground without much to do, but maybe she could start spend more time with others instead of mumbling all the time with herself.
She lowered suddenly her gaze as she noticed something really interesting on the ground: a wet pebble that had left a rivulet of water from the small river in camp. "Would... you like to search for nice pebbles?"
Her nest was actually surrounded by them already, but she loved them too much. And when she found a shell, it was a super win.
(I can't remember what I'd written, sorry if it's a repetition ahah)
Seapaw

Pale eyes flickered over, as he heard his own name. Starrypaw! He hadn't seen her in ages.Pebbles... He'd love to search for pebbles! "Sounds fun!" He chirrped, jumping up. The one in front of them - they reckined Starrypaw had already seen it - "this one's real pretty," he smiled, pawing at it, before beggining to scan the floor for more.
The golden sun-dappled rays were a soft and warm presence as they lied upon Goldfish's tortoiseshell spine, tinting her black-and-yellow pelt into a sheen of yellow-brown, a faint spark of reaction from a primarily deep ebony coat. The faint chill of leaf-fall was settling in, and the warrior couldn't help but soak up the finalizing rays of light as they shone bright and unwavering in the patch of earth of which she lie. But alas, every ray of sunlight ends at some point. A deep colored cloud came out of seemingly nowhere, shielding the sunlight like a stone.
Sighing in mourn of her beloathed gleaming light, Goldfish rose to her paws and shook out her fur briefly. Her head swiveled around, yet didn’t rest on a specific cat. Instead she looked straight down and silently began to shift the small array of leaves that had blown into the camp toward the entrance to be carried out later, their flaky and satisfying crunch something she heavily avoided. Sweeping away the solemn mood that had rested over the camp since the bird attack the day before. Ha. If only it were that easy.

Grayowl walked up to the warrior with a soft smile. "Hello, I am Grayowl, would you care to join me for a walk, or a hunt even?" The tom introduced, his tail lowered as a friendly gesture.
Frigidfang had remained uninjured this past half-moon, but at what cost? With a low sigh in his throat, he felt as though his paws had been eaten by the ground, leaving him unable to move, help, do anything. It was a poor excuse, sure, but it was true for reasons he could not quite comprehend.

His pelt spiked briefly as Rainpaw's tail drifted softly across his nose for a moment. She was so gentle- not like Ravenpaw. Ravenpaw was always nudging him as if she wanted him to move and it always seemed to be towards Rainpaw. Riftpaw's thoughts were broken when Rainpaw seemed to ask him the dumbest question known to cat-kind.
"...Ravenpaw?" He echoed. "Do I like Ravenpaw?" He seemed utterly confused by this question. Of course, he would take it the wrong way. "Well, yeah. We're friends. Why wouldn't I?" Riftpaw responded with furrowed brows. 'Does she think friends aren't supposed to like each other? That's weird.' He mused to himself but didn't say aloud to Rainpaw.
Rainpaw noticed the spike in Riftpaw's pelt when she brushed against his nose, and tilted her head to the side slightly. She didn't say anything though, now waiting for a response to her question. But it nibbled at the back of her mind. Did he not like her or something? It was the first time she really wondered about that. It would make sense, he seemed to be tense whenever he was around her. But then he started talking, and she forced herself to give him her undivided attention. This answer...she really wanted to know this answer. The emphasis in his voice brought a sense of...dread to her heart. She felt like she knew what he was going to say, and suddenly she didn't want to hear it.
But just before she felt like she might leap to her paws and race off to avoid the whole situation, the direction changed. Friends! ...Friends? Now Rainpaw was confused. She tilted her head again, blinking her bright green eyes. "As friends?" She echoed, sensing a pattern emerging in this, them taking turns confusing each other. "So you...you only think of Ravenpaw as a friend then?" She didn't know why exactly, but she really felt like she needed to confirm this information. And the only way to do that was to spell it out for Riftpaw. Because Riftpaw was...well Riftpaw. He didn't seem to be really keen on the "unspoken" words.
Speaking of...she should probably clarify. "Like I mean, you don't think of her as possibly more than a friend? Like..." She flicked her tail thoughtfully, blinking upwards at the sky briefly before bringing her gaze back down to Riftpaw. "Like a crush?" She asked, not sure if that helped or not. She shrugged helplessly, giggling softly. "That probably doesn't help, I'm sorry." She meowed with a soft chuckle. "I'm afraid I don't know how to explain it if you don't already know what I mean." Her eyes sparkled as she spoke, and she couldn't help but feel some...relief in Riftpaw's cluelessness. It was refreshing. He was so...pure and unassuming. Riftpaw was Riftpaw. He was nothing if not consistent.

Rosehawk emerged from the warriors' den, blue eyes clouded with sleepiness. Blinking it away, she called out for her apprentice. ''Cricketpaw! Taking you out fishing. Let's go.''

Fishing! Bolting upright, the tabby apprentice was attentive and practically buzzing with energy.
”Okay!”
(It’s all good, I tend to be on once or twice a week so I’m in no rush at the moment.)

The warrior gave a sigh, exasperation flashing in her emerald hues. Primroseadder would have rathered it be any kit other than Morningkit, who tended to be a pain in her tail.
''I can't say that I'll be able to let you be out here for too long,'' Primroseadder mused quietly, going back to tending to the nursery walls. ''It's cold, and I don't want you to fall ill.''
The she-cat turned to Morningkit, whiskers twitching. ''Say, go to the warriors' den and fetch some moss from my nest for yours. It'll keep you warm while I reinforce the walls of the nursery to keep drafts from getting in. With our queens bringing kits into the Clan during leaf-bare, I don't want the queens or their kits falling ill.'' Morningkit ought to know Primroseadder's scent by now. If she didn't....well, that was her own fault.

Rosehawk's frosty blue hues turned to the silver tabby apprentice as she arrived, and the Bengal trilled in response. ''Great!'' She purred, giving a satisfied wave of her feathery tail. ''Let's get going. It's cold, so I don't want to be out too long.'' With that being said, the warrior began to lead Cricketpaw away and towards the camp entrance and / or exit.

"Why would I want to crush Ravenpaw?"
'Why do these two she-cats always ask the craziest questions?' He inwardly sighed in exasperation. These sisters were weird. And cats thought he was weird- they should spend a day with them! "I don't want to crush her- she's my friend. So, yeah, I guess I only like her as a friend." Riftpaw put an emphasis on the 'only' to specify he answered Rainpaw's question, but stars knew that he for sure didn't understand what she meant.
"Why? Do most cats want to crush their friends?" He had never witnessed it before...play-fighting, sure- but crushing? Riftpaw didn't know. Maybe he should ask Brokenstream later if Rainpaw didn't clarify.

( he's going to need it spelled out for him LOL )
The silence was deafening, but Rainpaw in no way expected Riftpaw's response to be what it was. She blinked at him, stunned into silence, before breaking out into a fit of light laughter. Rainpaw's body bent forward and she could hardly breath as she laughed, the most light-hearted laugh she's ever had in her entire life. This cat...was perhaps the purest soul in all of existence. When she finally felt herself calm down, she had to lean against Riftpaw for support as she caught her breath. "Oh Riftpaw! It's not literal!" She purred.
Sitting up straight again, she opened her mouth to respond but was promptly cut off.
"What's all this about crushing and laughing?"
Rainpaw's head whipped around as her twin joined them, Ravenpaw's dark blue eyes lit in amusement as her gaze flickered between the two. "Stars, y'all are loud!" Ravenpaw meowed with a chuckle. "What is going on here??" She looked at Riftpaw before deciding promptly that he wasn't going to be of any help explaining, and turned a hopeful blue gaze to Rainpaw. But Rainpaw was no help, only shaking her head and laughing softly again. "I was trying to explain to Riftpaw what a crush is." Rainpaw explained, tail waving in amusement. "But I think maybe...maybe you should do that, Ravenpaw." As Rainpaw suggested this, there was a heaviness hidden deep in her gaze that made Ravenpaw narrow her eyes with suspicion.
"You two are really close, maybe you can explain it to him better than I can." Rainpaw conceded, standing and shaking her pelt out. "I'll be back in a heartbeat! I'm going to grab a fish really quick." Rainpaw mewed, whatever she was hiding in her eyes was gone. She looked back to Riftpaw and purred, a cloud of emotions storming behind the light in her eyes. She licked Riftpaw's ear affectionately, shuffling her paws bashfully after before bounding off. Leaving Ravenpaw staring at Riftpaw with a judgemental stare. "You...you seriously don't know what a crush is?" Ravenpaw meowed, her voice almost scolding. "How dense are you?" She mewed with a sigh, tail lashing in slight irritation.
"Look, I'm going to make it as simple as I can okay?" Did Ravenpaw even have a choice? Her belt bristled, irritated that she was going to have to even say this out loud. Leaning forward, she took a breath before continuing. "I...I have a crush on Brokenstream." She admitted, her voice low so only Riftpaw could hear her words. She leaned back again, raising her tail to stop any questions Riftpaw might have. Her hard stare willing him to wait until she finished speaking. "That doesn't mean I want to literally crush him, you hare-brain. It's a term that means...I like him as...more than a friend." She explained. "It's different from the way you might feel about any other cat, even your family. It's...it's when you...well you like them in a way that you...." Great stars above. Ravenpaw wanted to rake her claws against the ground, how did she get stuck having to explain this?
"Ya know...no. You don't. Like...like mates I guess? But not quite that intense, that's more like love." Ravenpaw knew she was rambling now, but hopefully her rambling served a purpose. "It's like this," she meowed, an idea striking her bringing confidence to her voice, "it's a progression. You might have a crush on a cat - have a crush on them, not crush them - and then maybe you fall in love with them. And then if they feel that way too, you become mates." As Ravenpaw explained, she drew lines that connected in the dirt in a way that made sense to her but probably looked like squirrel chatter to anycat else. Ugh! I'm confusing myself! She looked up at Riftpaw with a hopeful but dubious gaze. "Any of this makin' sense?" Please for the love of all of the stars say yes.
