Floodsight ✦ RiverClan | 22 moons | Mind Reader ; Beefed Up T3 ; empty slot
As more and more cats started piling in, another cat had situated themselves beside her, by choice or not. She didn't even need to turn her head to know this was a WindClanner. Not that she minded much. Afterall, the past was in the past, and things should be forgiven not forgotten. The silverish cream coated she-cat turned to give the cat who just joined a small nod of acknowledgement and a gentle attempt at a polite smile.
To her surprise, this cat was...an apprentice...a warrior? She knew the average WindClanner were small, but not this small...so it must be a kid, right? Though Floodsight was a bit stunned, her face remained calm and relatively the same. She wrapped her fluffy long tail around her gentle frame whilst holding a quick pause before speaking. "I'm Floodsight...How fares WindClan?"
She wasn't really sure how to speak to other cats around her age. It was like kits or apprentices where you teach them something and play along with their antics, nor was it like talking to other cats; which was majority a listening job. 'Nevermind. I think I said enough for a starter.' She'd hoped this tom would be better at directing a conversation than she is.
Whisperinghive
A 12-16 moon old tom with marigold-orange fur, dull green eyes, and a thin scar running from below his left eye down his muzzle to his nose. Purrks: Killer Aptitude T1 [ACTIVE] Survival Instincts[ACTIVE] Just a Scratch [ACTIVE]
And of course the fish had to talk to him! Why did so many cats think he was a talkative, friendly guy who they could hang out with? Stars above, why did he come to this gathering? It was more crowded than usual. (Or was it?) Maybe it was just Whisperinghive's mood making him feel like there were more cats than at a typical gathering. Should he even acknowledge the fish beside him? After all they've done, do they even deserve acknowledgement? Do they deserve to be seen?... Well, he wasn't going to talk to anyone else, and it'd be rude not to answer. (No matter how much Whisperinghive wanted to be rude)
"Whisperinghive." The orange tom greeted, continuing to stare up at the leaders. Just because he was talking to a fish, doesn't mean he has to look at them. Whisperinghive didn't even notice that the molly was bigger than him. Like, much bigger. "It's been..Fine. I–" He stopped himself. Would it be safe to tell someone from Riverclan about his new siblings? Oh Stars above, why did he overthink like this? Even Riverclan wouldn't hurt kits! "I have siblings now. My mother just had a litter." Whisperinghive explained slowly and hesitantly, careful with his words. Yes, Leopardsong wasn't his birth mother, but she was his mother. She'd adopted him when his own parents abandoned him, and he'd be forever greatful to the Forever Queen. The tom had promised his siblings he'd protect them, and he would. But what if he was the reason they were in danger? Whisperinghive couldn't bear knowing he'd put them in danger if they got hurt.

Splitpaw was watching the other cats, her mind was preoccupied until she heard Burnedpaw's voice. Her heart instantly thumped in her chest. Splitpaw didn't know what this feeling was. Turning in that direction where Burnedpaw's voice was she saw the handsome young apprentice. "Hi! Burnedpaw." she purred. "How are you?"
She waited until he was by her side before she spoke again. "See any cats you saw last time at the gathering?" she asked with a tilt of her head.
His eyes never left Owlscreech until she disappeared into the crowed. He nodded. "I can definitely see where she got her name from." He meowed. "She's got big eyes for a cat." he purred, turning his gaze back to Daffodilpaw. "Hey don't be nervous, we are at a gathering it's okay to socialize." He smiled. His gaze shifted away from hers and at the cats around them. "See look at them all." He said with a playful nudge. His gaze then moved back and forth to make sure no one was looking before he leaned down and whispered. "Do you want to meet tomorrow night at our usual spot?" he said before pulling back. Nightshadow then let out a laugh as if she said a joke. "You're really funny, Daffodilpaw." His eyes saying just a cover up, so we don't act suspicious.
So Adderstrike came to the gathering while wondering why she really wanted to come here. She didn't want to spend time around all these rogues but it seemed like her paws lead her here anyways.. That was when she saw something that urked her. It seemed like Minkpaw was sitting around with the Shadowclan's medicine cat. Ah, couldn't make it in Riverclan so had to lower your standards? Very well. It told Adderstrike all she would ever need to know about Shadowrogues.
Last time she sat all on her lonesome and it was mostly just to focus on gathering information but nothing ever really seemed to stick out to her that was worth putting that much attention to. Well, she wasn't in the habit of talking to the rogues anymore but there was one cat lurking around that seemed interesting to her. Was it Risingsomething? She probably wasn't even right on that part but she walked over to the cat anyways. "Is it alright if I sit here?" Adderstrike said in a formal tone before motioning her head to the spot next to Risingstorm.
As he sat down beside Riftpaw, Duskleaf smiled in response to Rainpaw's greeting. "Hi Rainpaw!" Duskleaf's ear perked up as Riftpaw mentioned meeting Snakefang. "Ah yeah Brokenstream told me!" He began. "How'd you find her? Is she like me at all?" As Riftpaw mentioned that he hadn’t seen Beaverpaw yet, Duskleaf once again looked around for his other apprentice. Ah! There he was! He noticed the relief in Beaverpaw's expression at seeing him and Riftpaw. "Beaverpaw! There you are!"
A purr of happiness rumbled in his throat, for the first time in a long time, it felt like everything was going well. He was able to go to the gathering with his apprentices, and now he'd also get to see his sister for the first time since before RiverClan's exile. "Uh, Beaverpaw, you haven’t met my sister yet, have you?"
As Snakefang made her way into the gathering, a little bit behind the rest of ThunderClan as she’d walked very much so at her own pace, her eyes quickly scanned the growing crowd as they did every gathering, she hoped her brother wouldn’t be sick anymore and was finally well enough to go to the gathering. Every other gathering except for the last had made her feel incredibly lonely. At least at the last she'd been able to speak to a few RiverClan cats and finally learned what really happened to her father — even if it wasn’t good news.
But then, to Snakefang's surprise, she actually did spot her brother this time. There he was! Snakefang made her way over much faster than she had walked on her way to the gathering. "Duskleaf!" She called out, coming to sit beside him. "You’re here!" Snakefang was never one for showing her emotions too much; but it was hard to hide the fact she genuinely was happy to see her brother again. "Hey Riftpaw." She said, smiling at the young apprentice she'd met at the last gathering. The other three apprentices here, she didn’t know their names, but one with brown fur and a few stripes caught her eye as he was sitting pretty close to Duskleaf. "Who's this little fella?" She asked.
"You'll take the high road and I'll take the low road
And I'll be in Scotland before ye
Where me and my true love shall never meet again
On the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond!"
Had Berry been that obvious in her shock over Cobwebfern's behavior? Clearly, because now the medicine apprentice was looking horribly guilty. 'I'm not bad'... the words, said almost like she didn't believe them, tugged at Berryshine's heart. Keeping her tail on Cobwebfern's back and shoulder in a gesture of comfort and assurance, she kept her slight frown on her maw, but met Cob's eyes and nodded.
"O-Okay... we'll talk later. Of course you're not bad... I would never think that," she agreed easily, her voice soft but genuine. Did Cobwebfern think she was bad? Did Berry make her think that? No, Berryshine had a large, bleeding heart and an understanding (if not naive) mind. There was no way she'd be making any assumptions too quickly. Surely there would be an explanation for all of this tension, and—
Oh. Hearing the tense exchange, the herbalist blinked in surprise, her head shifting back and forth almost comically between the two apprentices as they went at it. The words confused Berryshine, some going far over her head while others made her pick up bits and pieces of what might've happened. Rookfire leaving RiverClan over a 'petty emotional issue', and Cob asserting her own maturity for it... stars, what had happened? It was clear the two had been... close?...at some point. At least, close enough to be hurt by the other's actions. This kind of reaction didn't stem from just anycat.
Rookfire's icy, almost unnvering calm greatly contrasted Cobwebfern's shaky and soft words, and it was sort of jarring. Berry's wide eyes flicked between Mossfreckle and Rookfire again, a mixture of confused yet... apologetic? No, maybe just an expression of wary amicability towards them, as if trying to make up for the situation as much as she silently, futilely could. She didn't want any resentment or hatred brewing, not when RiverClan was just getting this fresh start...
"Hey, hey... l-let's just focus on the announcements, yeah?" Berryshine urged gently, brushing by Cobwebfern's flank, standing in between her and the ShadowClan medics. She was all the more confounded by the little drops of detail she could gleam from her and Rookfire's icy words and jabs, but that would wait until later. For now, the medicine cats needed to be civil, and by the stars she didn't want anything else happening. The hostile exchange between Wolfpaw and Rookfire had unnerved her as well, and she found herself giving a wary, sympathetic glance at ThunderClan's medicine cat, especially after he'd congratulated her. Yes, he was young, and it looked like a sore spot on ThunderClan's part... but the biting remarks seemed quite unnecessary. Did the dark-furred ShadowClan medic just have a thing for riling others up? Was he genuinely just this aggressive? Berryshine didn't know, and she surely did not want to test those waters herself.
Thankfully, WindClan arrived and the Gathering began, making a more formal end to the spat between the two. And Berry was all the more grateful for the sacred night's truce keeping any claws or teeth from being bared.
Stormstar's announcements were thorough; Berry perked up a bit as her new name was mentioned, catching Stormstar's blue eyes and returning the smile with a soft one of her own. That journey had been unlike anything the young molly had done before, and it was a special memory for her, too. The mystical experience, the awe-inspiring glory of the moonstone, the honoring bestowal of her new name... it helped ease some of her lingering tension a bit as she sat almost loafed next to Cob, their fur brushing together both as a soothing measure and as a way to combat the chilly leaf-fall evening. Berry's shorter coat didn't do much against this breeze.
Proud of how Stormstar conducted herself (she was a great leader already, and Berryshine held full confidence in her), Berryshine gave a nod of acknowledgement and did her best to look calm and prepared in the expanse of eyes directed their way. RiverClan had their little moment now, reintroducing themselves in a new light... hopefully the other Clans would pick up on that, and learn not to treat them as they had in the past. She could only hope.
The small brown she-cat didn't dare to glance back at the other medicine cats as she waited for the next leader to step up, silently praying for civility as the night went on, her heart still pounding uncomfortably in her chest as she kept herself as steady as she could for Cob's sake. And for the whole sea of cats below looking right up at them.

Spiderthroat wove through the crowd as he snipped at the lingering felines. Taking up the rear to ensure no brats managed to sneak their way into the gathering this time around. Keeping a diligent eye on the bushes and any little kitten hiding holes.
Once he was positive the coast was Clear he wrangled the lingering ThunderClanners into the clearing. If he had to be there and slowly drain his social battery, so did they. Slinking his way through the crowd until he'd reached the spot where new faces perched. Ah. So it looked like RiverClan was burning through leaders again.
A sneer as Spiderthroat made eye contact with the newest RiverClan deputy. "Another one to replace the so called Leader once they drown themselves realizin 'man, this is hard bein responsible' . I'll see you in her spot next gathering I'm assumin." he hummed. Turning over his shoulder to see the brat who'd decided to get quip with him last gathering.

Standing tall and standing strong
I have found where I belong

Rainpaw tilted her head at Riftpaw’s reaction, but Ravenpaw snickered to herself in utter amusement. Rainpaw batted her twin’s ear with sheathed claws, scolding her with a glare and silencing her all in one movement. “Don’t laugh at him!” Rainpaw mewed defensively, glancing at Duskleaf. Especially not with his mentor here!
Ravenpaw rolled her eyes but said nothing more.

Riftpaw glanced back at Ravenpaw, clearly confused by her reaction. She thought it was funny that he clearly didn't like Rainpaw- her sister? He was starting to think he'd never really understand she-cats. They were weird. Clearing his throat, he turned his icy blue gaze back to Duskleaf. "She actually approached us. I was with Brokenstream." He replied with a shrug, but his eyes lit up briefly as Beaverpaw approached. He wound his body around his friend's with a purr before taking a seat beside him. Before Riftpaw could answer that Beaverpaw wasn't with the pair last Gathering, a familiar voice spoke up.
"Hi, Snakefang." He rose again to give her shoulder a friendly headbutt, slightly surprised by how different her demeanor felt this time around. Was that a ThunderClan cat thing? 'Or a she-cat thing?' The young apprentice shuddered, glancing back briefly at Rainpaw and Ravenpaw.

Scorpionsight had walked in the gathering, taking note that ThunderClan was already present.
But, she didn't see a specific cat.
That didn't bother her.
Why would that bother her?
She's about to look for a place to sit before a familiar voice jolts her out of her own thoughts.
Ah.
Rabbitfoot.
"Hi, sorry." She said when he mentioned he had lost her in the crowd "Oh, no I'm not... looking for anyone."
Rabbitfoot clearly looked unconvinced, but he didn't push it. It mattered not- she was here with him. Well, technically with the Clan, but who counts technicality these days? "Well, good." He cleared his throat, having the decency to look awkward for a moment (but only a moment). "Would you give me the honor of spending this Gathering with me, then?" The tom flashed her a smile. He was trying his hardest to appear genuine, but it was a bit awkward of a face he was making...
She was returning to the clans as a full warrior. Her demotion hadn't shattered her will or determination, she sat at the edge, her gaze searing over the gathered. No need to speak to anyone, she was here for the announcements.

Turtlepaw's ear flicked towards the sound of the cat speaking to her, they smelled like.... Thunderclan. Usually she tried not to socialize outside of Shadowclan but today she felt a tad bored and this meeting didn't seem very attention worthy.
"Hello, Thunderclanner, to what I owe the honor of your presence for?" The young calico meowed, keep calm and act friendly, keep calm and act friendly, keep calm and act friendly. Maybe if she repeated it in her brilliant mind things won't go so bad.
