Ohhh, so it definitely wasn't a claws situation. "Oh, thanks," they mewled, politely but quietly. They were usually quite chipper, but this day was really taking a toll on them. He began to separate out the moss as instructed and - oh . Oh, uh, oh no.
Frigidfang was bleeding profusely - was there something dangerous in the log?? Eep - his skin crawled at the thought. Frigidfang was soon off and away, but not before he yelled a quick and worried, "take care!!" His tail flickered anxiously as he turned back to Catfishwhisker, who told him to focus on separating. He reached out to the log, scared for what was to come, but his paw simply connected with soft moss - there were definitely no big scaries. Did Frigidfang just have... A splinter? They weren't sure, but they'd make sure to be extra careful as they separated the moss.
Blizzardoak padded up to the fresh kill pile gingerly before dropping one of the three sparrows that Poppyburst and Floodsight had caught on their patrol in sleepy thicket. It had been one he had organized spontaneously, so even though it was a small haul the aging warrior hoped it would help the clan in the coming colder months. So much for seeing if I can still pull my own weight again. All Blizzardoak had managed to do was miss a sparrow he'd been able to place a paw on. In the process he seemed also to have alerted Floodsight to the fact that his old leg injury wasn't under as much control as he allowed his clanmates to believe. In fact it was still sore, but seeing the concern and recognition in her eyes meant he couldn't very well have ignored Floodsights offer to escort him to the medicine den. He held back a sigh, I know when I've been seen through.
Still he found the warrior's perception to be remarkable, even his own family and former apprentice were unaware that his injury caused him more than occasional soreness. Even more disconcertingly he knew skipping treatments of any such pain he'd kept from Berrypaw would probably result in him receiving an earful. I just hope she doesn't find a reason to forgo my reinstatement as a warrior. He had mentioned it to Fadingstar in passing, and had been given the go ahead to resume his duties, but... Would it last if leadership realized the injury was more severe than he was letting on? The warrior had his doubts. As he waited for Floodsight's silver/grey form to deposit her kill it felt like he was holding his heart carefully in his chest.
"Thanks for looking out for me Floodsight..we can visit Berrypaw whenever your ready." He was careful not to let his regrets enter into his speech, but the subtle pause in his words may have been more than enough for the young she-cat to decipher his feelings. Given her current track record. He tried to keep his head high and thoughts clear as he awaited her response.

Floodsight followed behind the old white pelted warrior and looked back every few seconds to see if Poppyburst was coming. Once they've arrived, she gently dropped her bird on the fresh kill pile. It wasn't much to bring back but it was still something. Something that could feed a few cats for the day.
The silver molly nodded at Blizzardoak's suggestion. "Of course, anytime."
She hoped she didn't overstep her boundaries, but the injury and effects looked concerning enough. She didn't need to be a medicine cat to know the senior warrior was hurting and it was affecting him, mentally and physically. Perhaps Berrypaw did have something that could help his hip and leg. For the aches and pain.
Perhaps it was selfish thinking to insist on it. She just didn't want to regret not doing something, just for it to grow worse. Yeah...that was definitely selfish. She was just saving herself the grief and regret if something really did happen to Blizzardoak in the future. Something that Floodsight could've called out and helped with. But being quiet as she was, Floodsight was unable to express that to him properly.
Songfeather was sitting outside of the new warrior den. Strongpaw got pushed into the leaders den so it seemed like he wasn't her problem anymore. But what to do now? The sandcoloured she cat started to groom her tail while thinkig about the recent events. It was now, when she finally sat down and relaxed a tiny bit, that her paws started to ache and she realized how exhausted she really was.
Songfeather looked around the camp and let out a deep sigh. Could this be the fresh start the Clan needed? A new leader, a new camp. Who will Stormstar choose as her new deputy? Maybe things would go better now. The young warrior sure hoped so.
The blue and green eyed cat blinked slowly and looked up to the sky. She would just rest for a moment and then find something useful to do, if nobody told her otherwise.

Soon, Catfishwhisker had separated all the bloody moss. "I'll dispose of that once we're finished here." It said after tucking the moss away where a kit wouldn't try and snatch it up.
The colorpoint than gave a small smile to Seapaw "You're doing well so far." It commented, before assisting in separating a bit more moss. "I believe this is enough."
Brokenstream scurried back over to Catfishwhisker and Seapaw. He had seen Frigidfang walk away with Stormstar limping, but he wasn’t sure why. The blood told a story of its own. ”Oh my.” The tom frowned at the sight, but it seemed Catfishwhisker had it under control. ”Good work, you two! I’ll check on Frigidfang later.” He sniffed appreciatively at the pile of collected moss. ”Let’s get this into some nests!” He mewed cheerfully, gathering a bundle in his jaws and padding into the fallen log.

The only thing that was exhausting was having to be around Weepingwind for an extended amount of time. Even Blackfrost thought it better to stay quiet, which he could appreciate. Nodding to the molly as she approaches, as if to silently thank her for taking up on his offer, he turns his attention to Weepingwind who has already begun to set off toward where they would be collecting today's moss.
Elders were... A disinteresting topic to him. In his own mind no cat, regardless of their age, deserved his automatic respect. If they shared stories of their loyalty and hard work, then maybe he would look upon them with a shred of admiration. But no cat just waltzed up and demanded respect from him. They had to work for it.
It doesn't take him very long to scrape some off the tree bark they've all approached. The faster he got this over with, the sooner he could return to his peaceful solitude. Taking it into his maw he stares at Weepingwind and snorts at her comment of being 'exhausted', which again brings him to the thought of the only thing exhausting him was her boisterous personality. Despite his reluctance it wasn't entirely unwelcomed. They had been friends for quite some time, after all, and he knew how to tolerate her by now.

Her mentor looked about as happy as a dead mouse. "Coming Rosehawk." what had she done wrong, it was as if her mentor had shifted paces. Tenderly, she walked out and over to Rosehawk.
