Ugh... it was LATE. What was so important that a meeting needed to be called in the middle of the night like this?

Redmire slipped out of the warriors' den, fur smooshed flat where she'd slept on her side and eyes squinty as she made her way over to the Floodstone. It was probably something dire if it was being announced at this hour, but if Fadingsun started ordering torturous deaths again, she'd see herself out immediately.

It took a few moments to blink away the sleep in her eyes, a yawn parting her jaws as the older warrior slowly lumbered her way out of the warriors den and to the Floodstone with a grumble. It was past her bedtime - weren't they all meant to be at the gathering? In fact... Cherryswirl surveyed clearing, watching as clanmates filtered back in... something felt wrong. Well... at the very least tense... especially after she took a look up at Fadingsun, who was perched atop the rock,

"What in the stars is going on this late at night...?" Swirls mumbled aloud, glancing around as cats would begin to shuffle in.

The pit in her stomach had only grown between the events of the Gathering and now. Never before had she hated her inability to control her emotions, hide her shock. Dusklion glanced up at her brother as he ascended the stone. He hadn't said a single word to her on the walk back, and the deputy - for now, that is - knew what was coming. Even if by some miracle Fades didn't demote her, she knew the Clan would never stand for her to be in any position of power. They had already tried to kill her - they all looked at her with distrust. Was it even worth it to say it was an accident? To blame it on the WindClan deputy having toed the border? ...Was he really just on his side and Dusklion hadn't noticed?

It was one thing to not get selected the first time around in place of her brother. It was a whole other thing to achieve her dreams, only to bear witness to them being crushed before her because of a mistake. A silly, stupid mistake. Why hadn't he avoided the hit? Dusk knew Fallownose severely outranked her in skill; she should not have been able to land that hit.

Not that any of it mattered. She first started to head for the spot underneath the Floodstone, where the deputies normally sat. But that wouldn't be her place anymore. So instead the dark tabby found another regular spot, plopping down and bringing her tired gaze up towards Fades.

Bubblekite spawned and Owlkit peeked through the nursery, smugly thinking about how stealthy she was.

jayfrost was tired. its been barely a quarter moon, in the middle of the night, and fadingsun was asking for them to gather once again. after the experience of the last clan meeting he didnt actually even want to attend and in all honestly the current situation was upsetting. bad enough he had to deal with his own stuff and try to somewhat get back on a proper path, but the consistent quarter moonly meetings that all ended in chaos and bad news were not making it any better. still, he was bound to this clan, and he wouldnt throw this away for a few gatherings. he couldnt leave garlicfeather or goldfish, especially not now that she was about to get her kits.. no.. he would have to do something about this. eventually. but for now..he was too tired.

cobwebpaw was very exhausted. her paws hurt, her head hurt, and she had been crying so much in the past few days that her cheekfur was near-constantly damp. with a heavy sigh, she exited the apprentice den. fadingsun was calling a meeting. she slogged out to the clearing, slumping down and resting her head on her paws.

she was numb.

cobwebpaw noticed dusklion not sitting in the normal deputy spot. she stood, yawning, and slowly padded over to her mentor. she didn't speak, simply sat next to her. whatever dusklion had done, it must have been for a good reason. that's how it had gone with fogmuzzle, and she was sure, hopefully sure.. it was for the same reason here. cobwebpaw glanced over at dusks and offered a soft, comforting smile. she mouthed; it's all going to be okay. i'll still love you even if you're not deputy, she didn't say.

Duskleaf heard the call and made his way back towards the Floodstone. Another meeting? So soon after the last one? Surely this had to be something important, hopefully not more murder this time.
