Ooh, Larkfire? Eggpaw knew her. They were related in some way, no? He remembered seeing her when his mother, may she ever rest in peace, announced that she was pregnant again. Otherwise, they hadn't had that many interactions. And that would likely stay the same, with her new rank keeping her busy.

Cougarbite's ears perked when he heard Larkfire's name announced to be the new medicine cat. He was a bit surprised at that. His friend had never seemingly shown any interest in that role, and he personally would never want it, but he was still happy for her. He tried to find her in the crowd. When he caught her eye, he approached her. "wow! medicine cat apprentice! congrats!" He said to her. ( @Rose )

Featherpaw muttered a congratulations to the announced cats, Larkfire's name was slightly doused in jealousy however. The bluish tabby payed little attention to reassignments, but certain names made his ear twitch in curiosity. Such as his father's name being called to Stonepaw, a cat Featherpaw didn't know well. Foxstrike was another cat who had recieved an apprentice, one of the new ones which was Pumpkinpaw. Foxstrike also happened to be Featherpaw's sister Ashpaw's mentor. What a coincidence. "Yay Starry! Starrywisp! A pretty name!" Shadowkit cheered for the new warrior with a high pitch tone. One day she would be in the same position as Starry. Oh that actually scared her.

Shadowpaw nodded her head when she was told her mentor was going to be. Sweetbriar. She sounded like a nice cat and it comforted the new apprentice. So Shadowpaw walked down to meet her mentor. "Hello Sweetbriar, I can't wait to start training with you." She said formally and sat prim and proper in front of her mentor

Batflight joined in, chanting Starrypaw's new name, then the two new apprentices.

Starrywisp! She rolled it around in her head. It reminded her a bit of the trail a shooting star left behind it.

And lucky Sweetbriar, landing one of the new little furballs! She would be sure to go and congratulate her when she spotted her. Sure, she was a tiny bit disappointed, but there was no use dwelling over it. She was sure Sweetbriar and Foxstrike would be great mentors for the new kits. Dawnstar will give me an apprentice when she thinks I'm ready, she thought firmly.

Her disappointment disappeared in a flash as Risingpaw was reassigned to her. She jumped onto her feet to find the apprentice, swiftly reminding herself of her tender leg. Her excitement dimmed a bit - she hoped the injury wouldn't get in the way of training her new apprentice. I'll have to keep from putting pressure on it... She shook her head. Plenty of cats got around fine on three legs. Besides, she didn't even know how much training Risingpaw still needed!

She looked around camp for the apprentice, padding over when she spotted her.

"Hi, Risingpaw! I'm Batflight," she mewed, tail in the air. "It's nice to meet you. Since I'm taking over your training, I was just wondering where you were at in your training with your previous mentor."

After a moment of talking with the apprentice, Dawnstar called out for their attention again, startling her. She looked up to the Shadowledge to hear her announce their new medicine cat apprentice as Larkfire. She was a little curious - a warrior going to the medicine cats den? - but turned her attention back to Risingpaw. She was sure Dawnstar and Elmshadow had chosen her for the position for a reason.
