This whole thing was....a bit alarming if Eaglekit was being honest. Too much yowling and arguing, and cats were dead? Um, what? That was NOT COOL! Looking around quickly, the large kit made his way to the edge of the crowd. Normally he liked to be right in the thick of things, center of attention, but something told him Dawnstars was not the attention to attract.

Sharppaw [post 12]

Sharppaw thought that Dawn's Plans were brilliant, and voiced so "How could anyone wrongfully dought their leader's judgment? Thunderclan deserved way worse than what Dawnstar was proposing. Some of our Warriors died! Died! They will never return and some cats want to show mercy? We should take four of their warriors to compensate for our losses!" She said, baffled at her clanmates pitiful arguments.

Cottoncatcher
gave a cold
nod, agreeing
with Dawnstar.
Thunderclan
constantly plays victim.
He smirked
when she asked
for any thoughts.
He didn’t
agree with
the no plans.
He cleared his throat.
“Well,
ma’am
with only
respect,
I think we
should make a
plan before the
gathering, so
afterwards we
have our plan ready
and we can
attack those
sorry, pathetic
lumps of
fur as soon
as possible.
Also, maybe
we could have
spies. Young
ones who those
cats wouldn’t
be suspicious
of- even in their
own clan. Plus,
a convincing
story would be
‘The hate of
violence.’ Those
flea-bags would
take them in
faster then a
monster speeding
on the Thunderpath.”

a malicious
glint was in his
eyes as he
raked his claws
on the clearing
floor. He had
so many more
insults to throw
at those damn
mouse-brains.
He flicked his ear,
wanting to shred
those fricking
fox-hearts to pieces.
They had
brains smaller
than ants. It
wasn’t hard
making up insults
to those-
creatures. They had
done so much to
cause so much
pain to Shadowclan,
it wasn’t hard making
insults towards those flea-brains

Moonpaw (she/her)
Shadowclan
Black calico with half face ginger and amber eyes
╚═════════*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═════════╝

Moonpaw sat down beside his mentor, on the opposite side of the dead body he'd carried to camp after the battle. She listened quietly to Dawnstar, Mirehound, Owltree, Oliverglow, Larkfire... and then even Darkfall.
Something inside of her was writhing almost painfully; a natural instinct that spoke of danger and prevented her from ignoring the smell of blood all around her.

Do they really want to start a war...?
She glanced with surprise at Darkfall, noticing with a slight wince the fire in his eyes and how hard his voice was now.
On the other side of the clearing, Nightshiver observed the meeting in silence just like her; a concerned expression on her face. She knew the gentle queen didn't like fighting, but she also understood that Thunderclan had murdered four of their clanmates.

But how? And why? I thought... I thought the other clans weren't like Shadowclan. She would have expected losses from the other side, but from hers? It didn't make any sense in Moonpaw's head.

She looked down at her paws, wondering if she would be involved, too, when the time came. And what about Pinepaw? Will he even be here anymore?
She couldn't imagine being forced to confront his brother on the battlefield. She couldn't imagine herself tearing another cat apart, feeling their blood on her tongue.

She thought again of Oriolepaw, the friendly Thunderclanner she'd met at the Gathering, but the memory only brought more confusion and uncertainty to her.
Why had Thunderclan done this to them? And how many more lives will Dawnstar want to take to revenge Shadowclan and her pride?

Like a shadow, she slithered at the back of the crowd and watched the events unfold in front of her like a vision.
A vision which she had no choice in it.

~ Haven'gaze~

What was the point of speaking if the words fell on deaf ears?
Haven'gaze felt annoyance claw across his gut as he took in Dawn'stars words. Now it was his turn to roll his eyes at the given statement, 'As if I don't bear the scars of battle and death myself, as if my blood has never been spilled, as if I don't risk anything at all' She bore the scars of her own faults. She risked it all to satisfy her bloodlust. It wasn't for the sake of the clan; it was for her own selfish want of power and fear. How could no one else see it?
Why did everyone follow her blindly like sheep? Shadowclan truly was a lost cause.

As if Dawn'stars words weren't enough, the remarks of others nearly pushed him over the edge. How could any sane cats be so battle hungry? He supposed that the leader's crude nature would rub off on you if you stuck around long enough. A blatant pity if you asked pity if you asked him.
Giving a mental scoff, Haven'gaze lashed his tail irritably. While some were humble-if that's what you would call it- about their opinion, others made it seem like they were going to be the future leader. Honestly, just because they experience one true battle doesn't mean no one else faced the same torment. And considering Shadowclan, death wasn't an uncommon thing. Everyone has experienced it one way or another.

Alas, his words were futile against such barbarians.
If it was considered weak to be the bigger person and avoid more bloodshed, then he wouldn't waste his breath. He didn't have time for impulsive fools who thought with claws rather than their brains.
In time, these debased idiots would get what they crave, blood, death, and gore.
Whether it would be theirs or the enemies...... only time would tell.

"Good one, sis," the tom spoke softly, give Vixensnarl a small nudge. His gaze shifted to Dawnstar next, awaiting her thoughts. He chose not to voice his thoughts this time, there was already enough being repeated, he didn't want to annoy Dawnstar with another voice.

Nectarkit didn’t understand! Why was bigkitty Mirehound pulling her away from Whisperingwolf? She was trying to wake up a clanmate so Ultimate Biggest Cat Dawnkitty wouldn’t be angry! She let out a tiny cry of frustration as she was pulled away, paws flailing.
Bigkitty Mirehound must have been in cahoots with Daddy and the nursery kitties! That must have been it. No one ever let Nectarkit do anything. She was always stuck in the stupid nursery, alone besides Willowkit and Woodkit, who never even played with her. She knew some other kits had a Mama, so why didn’t she? And, if she didn’t have a Mama, why not another Daddy? Didn’t there need to be two kitties in love for kittens to be born? So why was Nectarkit any different? Why was Daddy alone? Why was Daddy always hanging out with Beething? Beething wasn’t half as awesome as Nectarkit!
Is Beething more important than me? She thought, watching her Daddy with wide, confused eyes that hid her hurt with something akin to curiosity.

**Cougarivy**

Her still smile remained on her face as Deadwish [ @MangoLovesCheese ] made some backtracking comment about minding her own business, as if that had ever been an attribute Cougarivy cared to practice. Her steady blue gaze only switched once Mothcloud [ @Pluto! ] began speaking. If she'd been entertaining before, she had now become downright comical, speaking as though Cougarivy hadn't realized Deadwish was trying to discreetly stew under a self-concocted misconception of Dawnstar. It was as though these Shadwoclanners wanted to hate and demonize Dawnstar, even to the extent of lying to themselves and getting angry at anybody who told them life wasn't as bad as they seemed to think. But then the whole bit about pouncing on a clanmate, Cougarivy could nearly laugh aloud. If she had pounced on the tom it wouldn't have only been a pounce. She luckily made the likely wise decision to move away as compared to Deadwish's apparent hope that Cougarivy would simply shrug and walk away from a cat making giving her open invitation to stir drama as he attempted to make Dawnstar into something she wasn't, for what? So he could feel better about his own cowardice in not voicing his opinion or leaving? But of course that wasn't before the she-cat told her not to speak blabbering on about how she'll make excuses. That part did pull a giggle from the little she-cat. Excuses? What fun are those? Cougarivy had never been anything but unapologetically herself, most of the emphasis was on unapologetically. Excuses were boring! She had no use for them, for anything that'd potentially skirt a confrontation, in fact, and she had even less reason to need to justify her actions, if she'd ever been inclined to do such a trivial thing. She let the two walk away, sitting down exactly where they'd left her. She realized she should probably keep on eye on the two. She didn't much care to uphold the expectations instilled upon her as the enforcer commander but the safety of Shadowclan she could at least concede was worth the trouble. She hated having to take up the mental load to remember cats for any reason. However, this held at least some prospect of a pay off. She got the feeling that enough watching and harassing of those two may eventually come to a head. She smiled but looked to Dawnstar.

Cougarivy came back to the meeting as other warriors started speaking out in favor of attacking or provoking. Ideas that widened Cougarivy's smile and made her claws itch. She wasn't the counting type but she realized she could count on the bulk of Shadowclan to seek blood for their losses. She more or less lost sight of what had sparked this meeting but her attention was narrowing in on the prospect of upcoming conflict. But then there were always those. Havengaze and Grapevine posed similar angles about fearing death or something equally frog-hearted. Cougarivy rolled her eyes. She wasn't aware of when it became a secret that messing with Shadowclan meant you'd get paid back in doubles. There were few things that truly irked the playful enforcer but pathetic blood-averting warriors likely topped that list. They were Shadowclan, warriors who took an oath offering their lives, and they were now arguing in an attempt to weasel their way out of Cougarivy's favorite part of warriorhood. Havengaze's attempt at showing his own mighty gall in facing Dawnstar with some silly, sardonic accusation of her not caring for her warriors lives even as she called this meeting in regards to getting retribution for the fallen warriors and being surrounded by clanmates demanding that Dawnstar was actually being too nice on Thunderclan. Sure, Dawnstar's the problem, Cougarivy giggled.

She was happy for Dawnstar to speak again. She addressed some of the stupidity but not all, unfortunately. And ultimately settled on taking territory after some observing. Cougarivy scratched at the dirt beneath her claws impatiently. With the promise of battle and taunting drawing nearer, it felt harder to hold back and wait, but she remained seated, her smile irrepressible on her face.

**Shrewstone**

The brown and white tom, his expression unchanging as he kept his steady gaze on Dawnstar, listening silently to the voices rising around them. Overwhelmingly it seemed Shadowclan was on the side of enacting their vengeance in even more definitive terms than Dawnstar had proposed. He couldn't blame them. The deaths had set heavily in his own gut and his claws were readied to seek vengeance alongside his clanmates, but those desires warred with the blame he was equally placing on the large scarred she-cat making a display of caring about the lost lives. Maybe she does care, in her warped way, but then she succeeds only in being a hypocrite and unstable. He blinked, stuffing away his hatred, and instead meowed evenly, "I agree with patience. Shadowclan's vengeance does not have a time limit. We use the gathering to learn Thunderclan's standing and, if you want a recon patrol, I'd be honored to join. In the meantime, would you like additional patrols along the Thunderclan border?"

**Sunsetthorn**

The golden she-cat's single pale eye turned away from Dawnstar as Havengaze mentioned her name. She worked her way back, taking in what the other warrior had said. While Sunsetthorn heard what the tom was saying about avoiding unneeded deaths, as though Thunderclan had had any regard for that when they trespassed and provoked an unnecessary battle resulting in the senseless deaths. If something wasn't done to cow Thunderclan and teach them a lesson then the prospect of future provocations and attacks and more unnecessary deaths felt even more imminent than if they brought it to Thunderclan. Most of the clans didn't generally push Shadowclan since they knew Shadowclan was happy to retaliate brutally. If Thunderclan was allowed to get away with the egregious code break they'd be empowered to continuing doing it in some form of believing they were paying Shadowclan back for the moons of "victimization" they felt. No, Sunsetthorn knew something had to be done, so when Havengaze ended his little monologue by saying he agrees with her, she realized he must either be completely lizard-brained or she had not, in fact, gotten her point across. It was true Sunsetthorn was hoping to curtail future battles and thus deaths by playing on Thunderclan's pride rather than their blood but that was a far cry from being concerned about Thunderclan not accepting their terms. Quite the opposite. She supported demanding every bit of reparation Sparrowstar had offered, and if Thunderclan refused then Sunsetthorn would also agree that there'd be no other course of action but to turn to battle. Being afraid of other clans' reactions to their demands was the mindset of a cowardice clan, something Shadowclan had never been in all of Sunsetthorn's life. She was deciding whether to speak up against the warrior or not, weighing the headache of something she didn't want to deal with with the possibility that if he thought she would agree with his words that others may also fall under a similar misconception. However, her mind was made up for her when Dawnstar spoke up again.

She turned her eye back to the leader atop the Shadowledge. Sunsetthorn did not fear Dawnstar, like half the clan, nor did she worship her as a Dark Forest ordained monarch or deity, like the other half, but she did respect the scarred she-cat as the head and voice of Shadowclan. She couldn't deny the sense in the massive she-cat's words. All the talk of unnecessary deaths was fairly tiresome as unnecessary deaths made up the bulk of all of the clans' skirmishes and battles, and yet they all participated in them anyway, certainly not excluding Shadowclan. "Not caring" had never been something Sunsetthorn believed of Dawnstar though she did wonder what actually motivated the leader's cares, whether she cared more for the lives lost or the blatant slight to her clan which she saw as her power was not completely known to Sunsetthorn. In either case, she couldn't say she cared much, in the end it more or less amounted to the same outcome, Dawnstar didn't actually want to see her clan be killed.

Dawnstar did address Sunsetthorn's own opinion, more or less dismissing it. If not for injuring the pride that so obviously meant more to so many warriors than their own life blood, Sunsetthorn found herself musing with those warriors outraged that some measly herbs and prey did not even touch the debt owed for the unprovoked death of four Shadowclanners, yet Dawnstar herself claimed that pride was not worth the lives of her warriors. Though Sunsetthorn couldn't argue Dawnstar's point about Thunderclan not having enough pride to keep Shadowclan from walking into their camp and taking control of the clan so maybe Dawnstar was correct in placing the worth of Thunderclan's pride below meager prey and herbs. She gave a brief nod, deciding against the worth of arguing any further. She wasn't completely sold that an attack on their pride first wasn't the most effective route but Dawnstar had clearly heard her out and decided against it, but also now Sunsetthorn wasn't completely sold that her course was worth fighting for. Dawnstar's analysis of Thunderclan's level of pride could very well be more accurate. However, she did speak up to address Dawnstar's apparent accusation of her. Sunsetthorn was aware that she was currently a queen and, as such, if it came to anny battles, she'd likely not be involved. What she was risking was her mate and her clanmates rather than her own life, though Branchfire's life meant more to her than her own anyway so she still felt entitled to make the defense. Besides, Hazelkit and Mousekit were growing quickly and would be leaving the nursery sooner rather than later so it was in all likelihood that she'd be resuming warrior duties amidst the strife. "I returned to Shadowclan knowing my vow. I was willing to risk my life in order to return to my clan and I am as willing to risk it to defend it. If blood is what the clan wants then I will stand beside my clanmates and fight."

Deadwish let out a growl, not caring of Cougarivy heard. "It's pointless, I only stayed to try and prove I'm a good cat. They all think I'm a horrible cat because Emberwing is my mother, she killed her clanmates and I get it she was horrible but...these cats don't know what I've been through because of it. I'm trying to get revenge for the clan my mother murdered so many in! And I'm still hated on. Thats why I don't even think I can stay hiding the truth any longer. " He growled, not caring who heard as his voice was raised in anger.

Mintbranch stepped forward. The silent tom who almost never spoke snarled to Deadwish. "We get it! Emberwing was my mother to! I don't want to hear the rest of it! Shut up and just give it up! They'll never forget what our mother did, she trained us so if you really want to do something about it. Then do it you wimp" he snarled. His minty green eyes blazing with anger as he stood a mouse-tail away from his younger sibling.

Pepperleaf growled. "Emberwing was our mother and we know it, you two are bringing to much attention to the fact she was a murderer. Can't we focus on how we are and not her for once? Fernkit is the sweetest kit ever even if Emberwing is his grandmother." she growled, lashing her long ginger tail and separating her older siblings. "I'm the youngest and I'm acting more mature than you both combined! This is enough! If any of you say another word I'll use what mother taught me and rip both of your ears off, sense you want to bring her into this so much. " she meowed. Her voice commanding as Mintbranch fell silent as always and Deadwish scowled.

She'd thought she was finished with the whole business of dealing with Deadwish and his dramatic companion, but alas, the tom's voice rose again. She rolled her sharp eyes exaggeratedly as she turned to face the tom again. Now he was really making it everybody's problem with some nonsense about everybody hating him because of his mother. Back to that whole bit about her not caring to remember anybody; it was a complete waste of her mind space and absolutely a bore. She giggled as she rose again to her paws. In one swift movement, the small enforcer commander crouched then pounced, landing in front of the tom directly opposite of the camp entrance. She stayed lowered in an offensive crouch, her sharp eyes locking on him as though he were a juicy plaything, her hungry smile wide upon her face. She giggled, "Oh, how touching, it's like a little family history lesson." She paused for a heartbeat to giggle, though the intensity in her eyes never wavered. "I don't care. Your mother, Ember....whatever, means nothing to me. But that was a fun little attempt to pretend you aren't being judged on your own actions. You think passing false judgement on Dawnstar is proving you're 'a good cat'? " She took a slow pawstep towards the warrior. "But the fun's over, so let's move on to a game. We'll call it 'suck it up or tuck your tail and run', yes? So you've got two choices here, I'm making it clear since you seem to like thinking you aren't given any," she giggled. "You can either turn and walk quietly to the warrior's den until you can be addressed after the meeting, or you can walk out that entrance and never show your face in this clan again." She licked her smiling lips, taking another stalking step towards him. She was well over these cats deciding to use meetings as the chosen time to act like some martyr or brave revolutionist, sharing their inner thoughts like clan meetings were a therapy session. If he wanted to voice his personal complaints, he could do it on his own time; this circus was getting repetitive and old. "I'm fairly partial to you not making either choice, because then I get to play." She took another slow threatening step but held back against her excitedly quivering muscles. She offered the obnoxious warrior a choice and she was determined to keep that word.
