She didn't even hear her mentor, lost in her own imaginative thoughts. She tried to find her heart but it felt like it wasn't there anymore. Ever since Dappledpaw had dropped her, her heart had been shattered and Splashpaw felt like she could never love again.

DRIZZLEPAW
Drizzlepaw finally reached the pond and decided to start fishing. She bent down and waited a while soon catching a thin perch. "Good enough" she sighed and shrugged while talking to herself

Slatestripe decided that Cattail Pond would be the easiest place to teach Autumnpaw how to fish. The water was much calmer here, and it was still warm enough during the day that the fish should still be up closer to the water’s surface. He chose a spot within a clump of reeds and sat down, waiting for his apprentice.

The calico she-cat had remembered the way to Cattail Pond just fine, but it was a little challenging to maneuver the territory when she lost Slatestripe. Maybe this was a quiz? Like a little test to see how well she had actually retained the information from their little tour. However, she appeared in the clearing and quickly made her way obediently to her mentor. She took a seat beside him and peered into the water. Too bad I can't swim. But then... wouldn't that scare the fish? she thought to herself as she watched her reflection ripple and break in the little moving currents of the pond.

Once the others had came up Mothdusk had led them towards Cattail Pond, their ear flicking slightly as they saw the pond. Their gaze flickered toward the pregnant queen, "Mossfall I would make sure that you get checked by either Marigoldleap or Fawnpaw." They stopped walking, seeing some fish swimming in the pond.

"Bluepaw, do you know how to fish?"

Bluepaw followed Mothdusk to Cattail Pond with Mossfall. When Mothdusk asked if the white-furred tomcat knew how to fish, he nodded. "Yes. I'm currently taking my warrior assessment. I have an interesting way of fishing, by the way." He added.

It took a few extra moments for Autumnpaw to find her way to Slatestripe, but once she did the mentor wasted no time in getting their training started. It wouldn't be too much longer before the pond would freeze over for the season, making it impossible to fish in. It was best she learned to fish now, when the fish were still out and about.

He nodded toward the water. "First thing's first. When fishing, you want to make sure that your shadow isn't being cast over the water. It'll alert the fish to your presence and scare them away." He looked up at the sky. "See how the sun is across from us right now? That means our shadows are being cast behind us, away from the water."

Slatestripe looked back down at the pond. "In addition, you want to remain as still as possible until you're ready to strike out at a fish. Fish are better at sensing movement than you might think. If you give them any indication that they might be in danger, they'll be gone before you can blink."

* She looked at Mothdusk and Bluepaw and watched them speak. She sneaked away to go hunt. She was walking along when she came upon a den. She stopped and slowly backed up and then walked back to the others. *
" I-i found a den. I-i didn't check it out just to make sure that I didn't get injured. "
