Kinkcloud purred softly before following the apprentice, one eye on his own. The fact he didn't know what a patrol was made him feel guilty. He really did suck as a mentor didn't he? Shaking his head he remembered that the medicine had asked them to get daisy and burdock. Lifting his tail, he nuzzled both cats gently. "We're gonna be awesome." He told them.

"That was... a tad random." Larkpaw informed Kinkcloud, expression amused as she withdrew from the patrol leader's nuzzle. "But alright, if you say so." Her fiery amber gaze roamed over the pine-needle littered ground. Rolling her shoulders, Lark asked the very obvious question, since they were on a herb patrol after all. "See any herbs?"

A scowl formed on Brackenfire's face, but n9t fully from the kit. Honestly, she couldn't fathom leaving one of her maggots out in strange territory. " You're lucky I found you, kid. Most ShadowClanners probably would've eaten you." That wasn't entirely true, but what this kid didn't know wouldn't hurt her. Bending down, Brackenfire sniffed the child's fur. Okay, not from an enemy Clan, cool beans. She wouldn't have loved to punt the baby out of here. "What's your name?" Already assuming that the little cat didn't have one, she frowned a bit.

Of course not. "What do you want to be called?" Brackenfire's thin tabby tail whipped back and forth as she awaited an answer, but first smiled at the kit like she was considering the whole eating her thing. "Probably not." She mused, licking her lips a bit for the drama of it, lucid yellow eyes scrutinizing the ebony kitten. Small. Runty. Cowardly. The typical outsider child, Brackenfire would have to make her a lot more fearsome if the kitten stood a chance at being accepted into ShadowClan (which Brackenfire was still on the fence about.)

"Good attitude, angel. But considering how I'm your only hope at life at the moment, maybe be more respectful. There's a fine line between brave and completely stupid." Luminous yellow eyes danced slightly as the kit requested to be named Shadow. It wasn't her problem, at least she didn't want to be named Wind or River. That would've been a hard pill to swallow. "Do you want to come live with my Clan?"
