Make sure to congratulate Versailles on their promotion from c-mod in training to fully fledged chat moderator! They've worked very hard, and we can't wait to see where they go from here!
Peachpaw's got better things to do than spectate a kitten's bug-chasing game. He'd swear on every star in the sky over this. Really, seriously.
But uhhh. Hrm. Does she need help? She's very bad at it. Whatever she's doing. Because it's not dead yet and that's got to be the goal, right? He...can't...subdue....the urge to micromanage........
"You're doing a bad job." The older cat calls, certain that he is being extremely helpful right now as he settles down close enough. "It's going to get away if you keep going like that."
When Peachpaw called out to her, Leopardkit stopped bouncing around and looked at him, her ice-blue eyes—just like Briarmask’s—glittering with curiosity. “That’s mean!” The she-kit called back, her ears flattening as she sat back on her hackles with an overdramatic thump, watching as the butterfly flew away. “If you hadn’t distracted me, I would have got it!”
She...perhaps, maybe, might (read: almost certainly) have a point. But if Peachpaw can be trusted for anything, it's to double down on his own convictions. So he presses a cool little frown onto his soft orange face and sucks his teeth.
"No you wouldn't have. You would have worn yourself out before that. Don't ever chase something if you don't have to, it's usually a waste of effort." Maybe he's feeling especially smug right now or maybe that's just how he always sounds. Whatever the case, Peachpaw rises up to stretch and gives his stubby little tail a flick.
"I can show you how to do it better." A pause. "Unless you like losing."
Mantispaw flattened her ears. So much yelling. She agreed with Mountaintalon. Why weren't they helping dad? He was very obviously hurt. Help him! Please. She opened her mouth but no sound came out. She wanted to scream. To tell everyone to help her father.
She barely noticed the tear that slipped out of her eye. But then more came. And much more. She started shaking as she turned away from the hurt cats. She felt like she could throw up. Her brain told her to grow up.
Mantispaw could barely see through the river of tears.
Ugh. Beetlepaw was shouting. She couldn't blame him, but she also couldn't couldn't help but despair. He'd stopped soon enough, though. The brown apprentice sank to the ground, burying her head on her paws. This was terrible. Is this what came with battle? So much blood. It still smelt awful.
If dad was dead, then... Then she didn't know. She had no idea what she'd do. But whatever it was, she'd try not to think about it, because - because - Dad wasn't dead. She refused to belive it. She wouldn't. Just real beat up. Bumblestar, however, she wasn't sure about. And the others? She hadn't even processed their presence.
Mountaintalon's eye twitched. A disgrace was what this was - a disgrace of a healer and a disgrace of his handling of such a dire situation. A growl built in the back of his throat, pupils shrinking when Wolfhawk slunk past both himself and Risingstorm for the den.
"If this is truly 'all you can do', then we are all DOOMED under your care!" he roared after the medicine cat, slamming his bloodied forepaw into the grass. "You ought to hang up that title before you spell the end of us all!"
'Or before I rip it away from your useless claws,' was left unsaid as Mountaintalon snarled at Wolfhawk's disappearing haunches. The stream that trickled into it ran red with spilled blood. If he held any more faith in the stars above, he might have taken it as an omen. Instead, he whipped around with a sneer and made for the camp's exit. Healing injuries be damned, he couldn't spend a second more inside this camp.

Now, Mothflame hadn't been around for most of the chaos, but she knew for sure Wolfhawk didn't do anything to deserve harsh yelling
from Mountaintalon. With a frown, the rosetted she-cat took after Mountaintalon, trying to not seem like she was frantically chasing after a runaway kit.
"Hey," she called, voice tense. "What's the problem? Woke up from the wrong side of your den?"

"Hey be nice to him!" Fleapaw hissed at this deflating blood sack. What was this cats problem?! "Or if you have nothing nice to say, shut the hell up!" With that Fleapaw started to walk up closer to the warrior with his tail lashing furiously. "There are only two medicine cats and an army of those injured, maybe instead of talking with your rear and distracting them when they need to work right now try to suggest that there should be more little helpers on duty. There is a massive amount of cats in this clan, maybe two just isn't enough. Maybe if you switch them out this would be the same situation again!" Fleapaw said furiously. Why was the only damn solution ever leaving position, exile, or death.
"If you can take anything away from what I said, just do this to help the medcats. SHUT THE HELL UP!"
@dino. @Beaan Mention just since wolfhawk would hear this lol
