After arising from a quaint, dreamless slumber Egretswoop wandered out of the warrior's den and into the clearing. She observed the many cats bustling about to get to duties around camp. Kits and apprentices alike began to wake up and bounce around camp, adding to the lively energy around the camp. The weather was still cool too, and not yet hot and sticky like that of Greenleaf.

As she said a quick morning prayer of thanks to StarClan, she felt an itch to get up and do something. Such a beautiful day shouldn't be wasted lazing around the camp. It'd be much better to get out and stretch her legs. Maybe a walk through the territory would do? Surely there was an apprentice or two she could take with her and show around. Then she wouldn't feel like she was doing nothing.

Making up her mind, Egretswoop made her way to the apprentice den and out of the cats that remained, she selected Winterpaw to take with her. "Winterpaw! She called in a smooth voice. "If you're mentor hasn't already taken you, let's go out for a territory tour!

The apprentice sighed, it was too old. It would get to be a warrior eventually... it hoped, if it wasn't thrown out of the clan first. It needed to get some stuff done and that would finally be it for training. Wonderous. If only Springburst was here to see it.

Winterpaw was mumbling something (no clue what, or why), but it heard its name being called by a warrior. At least with some maturity. It padded over. Territory, perfect! It needed that. With a little bit of enthusiasm, it padded over. "Alright." it meowed, not cheerfully but less bland than usual.

The molly offered Winterpaw a short greeting as the warrior-size apprentice approached. A bit big for an apprentice, she'd observed. But she wasn't one to judge, RiverClan was finally getting back on its feet with Owlstar in charge the past few moons. Her gaze flicked away in an attempt not to stare.

"Let's get going then." She mewed and briskly led Winterpaw out of the Clan's camp. Every so often she glanced behind to ensure that Winterpaw was following.

"Alright. RiverClan has quite a bit of territory. There's a lot to show you. I'm surprised no one's taken you out on an official tour, but I'm sure you've had lots of patrols and training to get to somewhat know the land, correct?"

"None the less, it is important to have a good understanding of the territory." She explained. "Now this is probably the most important part of the territory - the river. As RiverClan, we are able to rely on these rivers for sustinence, instead of solely relying on the land. You've probably had a lesson or two about swimming and fishing, and if you haven't, I'm sure you will."

Understood, in its head. This was fine to it, this was easy to understand and nothing difficult. A lot of territory, it was fine with. Memorising it shouldn't be that bad. It followed.

"Yeah. Uh. I learnt swimming when I was a kit. And fishing when I was... I don't remember." it did learn to fish it swore!! Anyways it waited for the warrior to take it somewhere.

Egretswoop frowned a bit at that. Winterpaw’s mentor must be irresponsible. Maybe it just haven’t had the opportunity to train much? She chose not to comment on it, and with a flick of her tail beckoned for the apprentice to follow her.

The warrior led it down south in the RiverClan territory. Winterpaw didn’t seem to be much of a conversationalist, so Egretswoop didn’t put the effort in of making small talk. She led him down to the rocky shores. ”Here,” she began, ”is Lionsbeach. Just like the Lionhearts, it’s named after an old RiverClan leader, Lionstar.” She explained.

”It’s a bit rocky, so watch your step as we make our way down to the beach.” She advised the apprentice. Gracefully and cautiously she climbed from rock to rock with practiced ease, descending down until she reached the sandy shore of Lionsbeach.

”As you may be able to tell, Lionsbeach isn’t a good spot for fishing. Although, sometimes dead fish or other animals wash along the shore. Most of the time, they unfortunately, are not edible. There are also some crabs and lobsters that crawl around the beach. But your best bet for hunting would probably be sea birds. Several gulls love around here. They can be a pain to catch, as they’re skittish and fly fast, but they’re a reliable food source.”

Lionsbeach. It noted this oddly textured ground, that shared a similar name with the Lionhearts. Lionstar was who it was named after. Interesting. Beach. It had to get down safely. It ended up slipping a bit,
but managed to get down. Random creatures washed up here, but not good for fishing.. okay. But not tasty. Man. Crabs, lobsters and gulls. "What about the water? Is that safe to swim in? Or drink?"

"The ocean water is salt water. I'm not quite sure what exactly may happen if you drink it, and I'd be curious to find out. However, I'd rather prevent giving Berryshine more work than she already has with all these otters. So I'd advise you don't drink it." She responded stoically. Despite her non chalant appearance, she quite enjoyed the Lionsbeach. It was definitely her favourite landmark in RiverClan. It was always peaceful and calming here.

"As for swimming, I suppose you could. I've never gone very far out into the water because of the currents. They're known for dragging cats out and tossing them around like limp pieces of prey. The ocean has a mind of its own, so I wouldn't test the waters. It's much harder to swim than the rivers you're used to. Personally, I've never ventured very far into the water because of how strong the waves are. Not to mention, the water feels different than that of the rivers as well." She finished, noting the cries of the gulls ahead as well as how the tide crashed back and forth into the sand.

"Any other questions while we're here?"

Winterpaw looked at the water and wondered why it was salty or whatever but drinking it and swimming in it wasn't the best idea so.... yeah that was a good question before it decided to go have a little swim. Anyways nothing else to say about this... ask about this, sorry, so that was that. It shook its head.
