Cardinalpaw sat across from Cedarpaw, chatting to the other apprentice about who knows what. Could be something that happened during training, or maybe a cool fact he had learned. It would remain a mystery. Because apparently there was more important matters. Cardinalpaw hadn't noticed Jaggedpaw approaching, but Cedarpaw apparently had because he turned his gaze away from Cardinalpaw and fixed someone next to them with a proper glare. The toms mismatched eyes turning to follow his gaze, huffing when he saw Jaggedpaw. Damn. They listened as Jaggedpaw asked, or, no, told them, that they were doing battle training with him and others. He could deny it, but he needed battle practice anyways. He sighed as the tom marched away. "I don't have a choice here, huh?" He joked, though his tone was dry as he stood to his paws, waiting for Cedarpaw. They were dragging him along. He padded over to where the others were, sitting down next to Cedarpaw.

Cedarpaw was having a good day. He slept well the night before, he managed to talk to Starling, and now he's chatting away with Cardinal. So, yeah, a good day. However, like a stormcloud during new-leaf, Jaggedpaw had to show up. Day absolutely ruined. How could that mouse-brained apprentice show up after the stunt he pulled in the clearing?

He fixed the tom with a glare, completely looking away from Cardinal. It was more important to glare at the enemy. One of the couple cats he didn't like. It was a hard list to get on.

Battle training? With those two? Cedarpaw had an incredulous look on his face, but he followed Cardinal anyways. Better than leaving the two alone to kill eachother or something. He didn't want Cardinal to die, no matter how funny it would be

MarshHeart eyed the growing group of apprentices wearily, spotting a few familiar paws.
He was only doing this because the other warrior's had asked if not he would be comfy and warm in his nest not having to bat some half grown kits around He shook his head and yawned curling his tail around his paws as he kept a eye out for Splashpaw, nodding to Cardinalpaw and Cedarpaw briefly

He couldn't help but wonder where their mentors were and speaking of where was his own apprentice, slinking off again, he bet of all the kits in the clan he had to have the most unbothered and late one of them all.
He sighed and nodded towards jaggedpaw, one apprentice he didn't recognize.
Three of five he thought to himself half wishing his apprentice wouldn't be the last to arrive.. again. He sighed.

Jaggedpaw had no intention of falling behind on his training. Well, to continue falling behind on his training. He still hadn't quite completed that battle training lesson he had with Deadmoon and frostie a few moons back. Well since that one ended with him and his twin wrestling and the old lady trying to get them to listen. He intended to take this lesson more seriously and whether frostie would – well…that was his decision!

The speckled apprentice had already asked two warriors to take him and his brother out training, if he remembered correctly Marshheart had mentioned bringing their apprentice splashpaw too. Jaggedpaw of course didn't mind the more the ‘merrier’ as they say. However there was another apprentice Jaggedpaw wanted to bring along, surprisingly that was the one apprentice he couldn't stand! Cardinalpaw. Just thinking about that made him want to shred something. That brat was one of the main reasons Jaggedpaw’s warrior ceremony would be delayed. He was also the reason his sister had her name taken away and changed. Not only that but he was a snivelling wimp that couldn't take a punch and thought he could get away with talking down on him. Yeah. Jaggedpaq didn't like cardinalpaw so asking him to come training with him had him internally cursing himself. It had to be done though.

After Whiterabbit had approached him and they'd uh, ‘talked’; he'd been considering some things. What she said was true, yeah sure he didn't like cardinalpaw but he would have to learn to work with the other apprentice. They were both Windclan, he was going to be the best fighter this clan had. This he'd have to learn to fight alongside, protect and learn to care about all his clanmates. Even if that idea seemed difficult to act out on his part he would make an effort to try. The only way Jaggedpaw knew how to bond with someone was fighting – that's obviously why he was so close with frostie. The rest of his family was an exception, they were important to him by default.

So Jaggedpaw marched towards the russet apprentice with purpose and clenched jaw. Cardinalpaw seemed to be busy chatting with some other apprentice that Jaggedpaw didn't quite recognize. Who cares, they're not important anyway– woah woah. Don't continue that line of thinking Jaggedpaw, all windclanners are important remember, mhm. The mostly white and speckled apprentice finally came to halt and glared- stared not unkindly at the pair. ”get up, we’re going battle training” He said curtly, focusing on cardinalpaw. ”Your friend can come too.” he didn't even glance at the other apprentice before turning around and heading towards where frostie, vinesmoke, Marshheart and splashpaw were waiting. He left no option for cardinalpaw to say no.

Frostpaw yawned, still waking up a bit after his twin had awoken him for some battle practice, which honestly wasn't too bad a thing to wake up to. At least it wasn't going to be like hunting with Hawkfur- Frostpaw hates hunting it was so boring and it was gross having to kill things in his mouth because prey was gross. Honestly, why did his clan have to live off such icky stuff- gotta be something out there that was better. At least tolerable unlike the prey he and his siblings choked down at best.

Whatever whatever, he got to battle practice with Jaggs, and more curiously he got to battle practice with the thief. Imagine being so slow at your training that you take a kit's name? What was the saying? Taking prey from a kitten? Well for the thief it seems he doesn't understand a phrase from a command- stars forbid he hear something like 'break a leg' hah! The smaller twin grinned, all teeth and no friendliness as his brother went off to collect the red feline alongside whoever he had been chatting with. Some nobody that Frostpaw didn't bother remembering the name to.

This is going to be so so so so so so fun! As Jaggedpaw approached, Frostpaw took to his side, making the airy little 'laughing' noise he did whenever something exciting was bound to happen soon- or rather- something that Frostpaw would think is exciting. Hopefully Jaggedpaw and Frostpaw were on a team against the other apprentices. They would easily take a 2 v 3.

Vinesmoke didn’t say a word as he followed the group across the moor. He didn’t need to. He wasn’t the type to fill silence—he was the type who kept things steady. He hadn’t planned to be part of this training patrol. Battle practice wasn’t exactly his thing, and most cats knew it. As a tunneler, he spent more time underground than above it, and when he did fight, it was only because he had to. But when Jaggedpaw had asked—well, demanded, really—Vinesmoke had nodded without question. It wasn’t because he believed in fighting. It was because he believed in showing up. He kept a slow, quiet pace, his broad shoulders shifting easily under his thick pelt. His claws, dulled from stone and soil, could still land a hit if he needed them to. But he'd rather not. He never saw the point in fighting your Clanmates to prove you were stronger. That kind of strength burned out fast.

Cardinalpaws friend's glare didn't go unnoticed, the mostly white apprentice just chose to ignore it. He didn't even know this apprentices name let alone care what that brat thought of him. All of this was quite beneath him, there was no reason to get riled up by pointless looks given by small minded fools. Or at least that's what he told himself so he wouldn't lash out. Even so, despite his best efforts, he couldn't help the words that clawed their way out: “what you think you're glaring at kid. Got a problem?”. Green eyes, sharp as ever, glared back at the apprentice beside the red tom. He held it for a moment longer before turning away again. Calm the hell down, it's not worth it to remember. Clanmates are FAMILY! not worth it.

He was trying to be better after all. That being said he noticed the look in his brother's eyes, he knew that look all too well. ”no biting” he reminded his twin quietly, he learnt that lesson the hard way and he'd rather not have frostie be in the same situation. Especially since his twin hadn't been there to see what could have happened if Jaggedpaw had sucked in his pride and apologized. ”even though it may not be as fun, can't play rough with these guys. They aren't strong” he added in a matter of fact tone, the statement meant only for Frostpaw but he didn't make any effort to whisper.

Splashpaw hadn't shown up and Jaggedpaw had no interest in waiting for Marshhearts apprentice. Clearly they weren't interested in training, their loss. Missed opportunity to duel with the best warrior in the making. When they reached their destination, a flatter part of the moor he and Deadmoon had passed on that territory tour moons ago, he turned towards the two warriors expectantly. Sizing them up before addressing them almost briefly forgetting his rank. ”you're both warriors which means you've succeeded in your training and earned your rank. All warriors know how to fight so I expect nothing but good teaching from both of you” he tried to speak in a respective tone despite what he was actually saying but then again- Jaggedpaw was known for his very- special way of speaking to everyone other than family. It was all that flattering…

Don't disappoint your mentors, that's what he wanted to add but thought better of it. If biting others got you into trouble, could words too?

Cardinalpaw's ear twitched at the snappy remark from Jaggedpaw towards Cedar. This is training, not an excuse to argue. "Watch yourself." Cardinalpaw snapped sharply, giving Jaggedpaw a cold look from next to Cedarpaw. Jaggedpaw could be an insufferable brat all he wanted, but he had no reason to be disrespectful to Cedarpaw, nor would Cardinal take it. The russet apprentice rolled his eyes as Jaggedpaw told his brother that the rest of them were weak, and not to bite them. Yeah, because a real mature apprentice like Jaggedpaw needs reminders like that.

No Splashpaw. Whatever, they didn't wanna train then they didn't wanna train. Nobody here seemed to care as they set off. As the group slowed, Cardinalpaw scanned the cats, assessing who would be the easiest to spar with. They would avoid Jaggedpaw at all costs, that's for sure. Cardinalpaw raised an eyebrow as they reached their destination and Jaggedpaw very boldly addressed the warriors. He seemed to have forgotten his rank. Oh, joy. So he was just disrespectful to everyone, and now Twilightstar had to train the brat? Stars.

MarshHeart blinked at the apprentices as they arrived at their training spot, clearly there were some rivalries and grudges already but then again they all were a bit older for apprentices perhaps less kit growing pains and more adult scuffles, still half kits anyway though.
He gave himself a shake looking over the apprentices, Cedarpaw, Cardinalpaw yeah he trained them before, frostpaw and jaggedpaw however...hmm
MarshHeart looked them over with a thought, haven't trained them before and I've heard about jaggedpaw's... incidents.. these kits are going to be a handful
He shook his head as jaggedpaw spoke.

His eyes narrowed at the apprentice's... respectful disrespect to put it.
He couldn't help but wonder if twilightstar knew how their new apprentice spoke to other cats of higher rank, surely the young tom doesn't think he can use his apprenticeship to the clan leader as a power over other apprentices?
MarshHearts eyes flicked to the other apprentices he could see the reason for some conflicts if that was the case.
And speaking of other apprentices, Splashpaw running off instead of training Again.. MarshHeart's tail lashed involuntarily at the thought, not even showing her face since her apprentice ceremony dispite his many many attempts to speak with her, he hissed softly and noted that maybe it was time to speak to twilightstar about this.

He turned his attention back to jaggedpaw his hiss finding its new target, irresponsible apprentices and disrespectful ones, great just great.
"Keep speaking in that way, kit. And you won't get training from any cat and considering how busy twilightstar is thats a long wait for you"
He spoke coldly to the tom, a hint of a actual promise lingering, This whole thing had him more irritable then usual and he already had a short temper with halfkit- Apprentices.

'Kid'?!? Cedarpaw was a good four moons older than Jaggedpaw. He didn't like that condescending tone the younger apprentice took on when talking to or about him. However, for his own sake, Cedar wasn't going to start a fight. He only had basic battle training, and it was likely that Jaggedpaw had more training.

He appreciated Cardinal's snappy reply, and Cedar nudged his boyfriend's shoulder in thanks. It was nice to have someone willing to stand up for him. The tom looked over as Marshheart spoke up, the tone of his voice sounding cold. The warrior's words didn't pierce through his ears, his mouth moving, but no sound to be heard.

Something that should be a bit concerning. It happens, mostly when his brain wants to shut down. If he took a couple minutes, hopefully it will be normal. He couldn't train like this.
