"You really don't understand the concept of 'threats' very well, do you?" Jaggedhawk asked, before his eyes widened as he realized that a clump of mud was now sailing towards him. Scrambling, Jaggedhawk tried to get away, but he only succeeded in falling on his rear, and a moment late, the ball of mud landed with a loud "SPLAT" right on his face.
He wiped the mud away from his eyes with his still clean tail-tip, the lime green depths now fiery with rage. "Oh, you're DEAD kit!" He yowled, getting to his paws and pushing through the mud towards Aspenpaw, fully intending on shoving her smug little face into the mud.

Luckily for Laurelkit, she didn't have to endear the trek back very much beyond some bouncing. "Well, I just hope you don't do this again." Thistlestep had been very mild about this interaction-- mostly because he didn't want to scare the kit off and make it more of a headache for himself. "We're nearing the border. We'll have to cross the river and then I want to wait on the bank. We'll wait for a ThunderClan patrol from there. There's been enough trespassing at it is, and I would prefer to not overstay my welcome."

As he spoke, they were already nearing the bank and he slid into the water. The river levels were returning to normal, luckily enough, so the water in this spot barely touched his stomach.

Once on the other side and now on land, he paused and crouched down so Laurelkit could jump off easily. "Stay by me. I believe there may be a patrol coming."

Sycamorerain padded through the forest, tasting the air for the scent of prey. Instead, he caught a mix of ThunderClan and RiverClan. He padded along the border until he came across little Laurelkit standing beside Thistlestep. He gave a quick nod in greeting to the RiverClan warrior and turned to the small kit beside him. "Laurelkit! How'd you get all the way out here?"

It was about time. Minnowthorn hadn't had an excuse to leave camp for what felt like forever, and the next best reason she had thought of had been hunting. Sure, it was mostly a mundane task, but if it got her away from the confines of camp walls, she was more than willing to waste her time with it.
But of course she wouldn't be able to do so, because of course something had to interrupt her stolen moments of peace. RiverClan scent touched her nose and her eyes narrowed suspiciously as she pushed her way through the bracken to find herself face-to-face with a RiverClan warrior. And with a ThunderClan kit standing next to him, no less! She glanced over at Sycamorerain, confusion flickering briefly in her eyes before it disappeared.
"RiverClanner, I hope you have a good explanation for this," she said. Her tone betrayed no emotion - it was neither hostile nor friendly - and neither did her body language, as she swept her gaze over Laurelkit and Thistlestep. Her eyes did, however, linger over Laurelkit with evident concern shining within their green depths before she returned her attention to the tom next to her.

Laurelkit looked at her clan mate and piped up,
“I got lost, Mister Riverclan cat brought me home!” She looked at her clanmates, “He won’t hurt you, he just wants me to get taken to camp so that he can go back to his home.”

"I found your kit in the middle of our territory." Thistlestep flicked his tail toward Laurelkit. "I'm only in your territory because I figured this might be better for all parties if you didn't have to go swimming to get your Clan-mate back." This was probably the least offensive thing he could've done, being beside the river on their side of the border. "I'm not really sure how she got that far, but you might want to keep a closer eye on this one before she becomes coyote bait. She was heading toward outskirts territory."

Laurelkit sighed and looked at all the warriors,
“I was out in Rougeland Woods and then I wanted to go home, but then somehow I ended up in Riverclan!” She meowed.

Sycamorerain nodded his head slowly, listening to what both cats had to say. "Thank you for returning her," he mewed curtly to Thistlestep before glancing at Laurelkit. The young warrior gave the kit a stern look. "Don't go off adventuring on your own. It's dangerous for a kit like you to be out here. Like Thistlestep said, you could've been eaten by a coyote or something worse." With that done, Sycamorerain gave Minnowthorn a questioning look. "Shall we take this one home?" he asked, flicking his tail towards Laurelkit.
