July Gathering

Late again, Fawnsqueak arrived with a single cobweb glob tucked under his chin--it was a small side trip that he'd tacked on after noticing a tree's hollow part had become home to spiders. He regretted not just getting it on his way back to RiverClan but hadn't thought of it at the time, too excited by his surprise find. Now he had to carry it around.

He approached the crowd and scanned for a place to sit, that process halted when he caught sight of a bristly Goosefury and.. some cat that looked vaguely familiar, though he couldn't place from where or if it was a misremembering on his part. Curiosity guiding him, Fawnsqueak weaseled through the crowd, dipping behind pairs of cats and dodging suspicious glances, until he was within earshot. Also, within eyeshot. Kind of just standing there weirdly to see what the fuss was about.

Oh a cat had decided to approach her. Doepaw looked up in question but hearing no comment from the other cat she decided to remain quiet herself. That would be good. Quiet. Then... a voice and a scent hit her ears and as that voice voiced exactly what she was going to say she grumbled out. "You... again." She wasn't exactly in any interest to start a conflict, and would probably be in trouble if she did, so she tried to keep her tone at least somewhat cool. Steady. Not revealing anything, except her irritation. Despite her irritation being quite clear at the moment with the way her ears were pinned down her neck and her voice attempted indifference. But didn't exactly. succeed. Yet she couldn't resist but letting out a laugh since it seemed that small tiny - not - Ripple was hiding behind the other apprentice. "I have... yet to move. And you... won't drown me. Doubt... Beastspark.. would be all too... happy with loosing his... star pupil," using Irisflame's nickname for herself, well it might help Ripplepaw in shutting up at least a little bit, "so I would... not do any drowning." With that said she turned to the Windclan apprentice for once, paying no further head to little bitty Ripple. Ripple could throw a tantrum all she wanted. "Name's... Doepaw. Of... Shadowclan." Her Thunderclan scent had long since faded finally, despite it still being there if you scented close enough but it required an extremely well trained nose.

Ribbitpaw shifted uncomfortably on his paws, unsure of how to really respond. “Well... that’s good news, I suppose. The fact that you’re well, I mean. Not about the executions.” Well, this was even more awkward now. Small talk was already hard enough as is, but with someone from a different clan... it was difficult to bring up topics from within the clan without having to explain every single detail. “So, uh... is this your first gathering?” A rather cliche question, but he was willing to discuss anything to relieve the moments of awkward silence.

A smile of amusement was painted on Puddlepaw’s face at Foggypaw’s optimistic statement. “Haha, yes. Personally, I’m not a fan of all the drama or violence. I don’t see why cats feel the need to fight each other over small issues sometimes, y’know?” He paused for a moment to think. ”But, I guess it isn’t really avoidable sometimes. Still... I’d take a friendly game or competition over a fight any day.”

Stagpaw just kept on nodding enthusiastically as he looked over at Mushdad who seemed to let out a long sigh. "Not happy? Mushy you need to eat beetles too! They'll make you all happy!" Because they did! Stagpaw had been all sad and not happy when it came to his bad paws but the beetles distracted him from the useless of it. They were crunchy! and tasty! And Twiglight apparently wasn't a fan of them. Yet going back to embracing Curlpaw into a massive hug yet again, he let out a loud giggle once again. This was great! And with Mushdad here he wouldn't be left alone and left to be carried home by Twiglight again... that had not been good. But it wasn't his fault he was... confused. Maybe he could smuggle Curlpaw with him back home? Mushdad would surely allow him to take Curlpaw with him home. "Mushdad! Yes. Is Stag's dad!" And... then now it was time. "Twiglight? That's Twiglight!" He pointed with his tail up at the Windclan leader and then looked at Mushy. "Can I take Curlpaw with me home?" And then he turned directly to Twiglight and yelled up at the leader, "TWIGLIGHT! Mushy gave me permission to take Curlpaw with me home! Can we please? I promise, I won't feed you beetles if you let me take him home!"

She turned as someone called her name, and she swung around to face the cat with a smile before she realized who it was. Not just a someone, it was Coyotesnarl.

Her smile turned venomously sweet as she winked at the Tom, remembered exactly how angry it had made him when they first met. “Lonely? Ahh are you worried about me Coyotesnarl?” She shrugged, turning partially away.

Obviously Coyotesnarl wasn’t here, or listening when Lionstar had announced she had resigned. So... she would play with him some.

“Oh they don’t? Careful now Coyotesnarl, you’re starting to sound like you actually enjoy our company.”

Coyotesnarl was in fact expecting her to shrink back away from him as she normally did, though he was met with something incredibly horrible. She actually made him uncomfortable. What was this? He almost wanted to retreat, he was used to the submissive babbling mess and here she was fighting back for once. No she was taking a jab right off the bat!

“As if. You’ve got enough ego to make a friend for yourself” which was kind of a lie, she was in her own way somewhat humble. But he was taken off guard so much so he had to make something up.

The tabby’s ears flattened oblivious to the leaders and the chatter back and fourth. ”I’d rather chew off my own leg, if it wasn’t for the fact I need colleagues to keep me from going insane I wouldn’t go out of my way to see any of you” he snorted

Rosepaw looked at him, almost instantly recognizing the lovesick, enthusiastic tom from the past Gathering. Yes, she thought that the other Clans were wretched, but it was still interesting to see how persistent this silly tom was.
“Why, hello there,” she purred in a tone that was as smooth as honey. She flashed him a grin from pure white teeth that glimmered in the bright moonlight. “And I am doing perfectly fine, thank you very much.”
Putting down her steady paw, she sat forward and allowed her elegantly bushy tail curl around her front paws. The stripe running down it shone brightly.

Once again, Maplepaw was struck dumb by Rosepaw's pure loveliness. Hello he purred back, trying and failing to disguise his happiness. And I'm very glad you're doing fine. I'm doing well too. When do you think you'll be a warrior? he asked, curious. Wouldn't it be awesome if they became warriors at the same time! Beholding her wonderfulness, he felt like he was the happiest cat in the world. Hearing Twilightstars announcement that Blackpaw had attacked Rosepaw, he turned to his crush. What? Blackpaw attacked you? You have a scar? he mewed, shocked. (Go on, corrupt him)
