Primroseadder yawned as she woke, her emerald hues glittering with sleepiness. One of her kits, Owlkit, lay at her side, and the queen lightly touched her nose to his ear. ''Wake up, little owl,'' she murmured softly, a purr rolling in her chest. '''ve got a game I want ta play with ya.''

Owlkit made a small mewl of protest as he was nudged awake, the small kit was snuggled up to his mother's side (like a mama's boy) and completely content right where he was. "two more mooonssss-" He mewled, but his eyes shot up in excitement at a game, head raising as he tilted his head.

"oooo- game?" He squeaked out, hopping up and beaming. "I wanna play I wanna play!"

''It's called whack the fern,'' Primroseadder purred, lifting her tail to reveal a fuzzy fern. The queen grasped it between her jaws and tucked it into one of the many small cracks in the rock walls of the nursery. She had placed it just above Owlkit's height, causing her son to have to rear up onto his hind paws. ''The rules are self-explanatory, just try not ta hurt yourself, Owls.''

Owls nodded, rearing up so he was sitting on his back paws, using the rocks to steady himself, glaring at the fern. "Look mama! I'm gonna be just like you! Imma hit it!" Owls squeaked, standing on his back paws and doing his best to smack the fern beaming when he hit the tip before baffling back onto his paws, giggling.

"Taste my claws you evil shadowclan meanie!" He squeaked, rearing up again and batting the fern before he fell back- onto his back.

"oof!" He yelped as he fell backwards, laying on his side and shaking the hit off before getting up again. "See mama? I'm gonna be as cool as you and I'm gonna show everybody that daddy is super powerful and strong even if he was a kittypet!"

Primroseadder's tail flew out to soften her kit's fall whenever he fell back. '''m sure that ya will, Owls,'' she chuckled softly, giving his ear an affectionate lick. ''Hm, I wonder what you'll inherit from me. My awesome swimmin' skills, perhaps? Or my amazin' stealthiness? Maybe my fightin' techniques.''

The queen let out a purr, nudging Owlkit to his paws with her maw. ''Ya father 'n I are equally good at huntin', so you're sure ta get that from both of us. Anyway, try again. Use your tail for balance, love.''

"I wanna be a super amazing warrior and swim and hunt and be so good that owlstar is like- woaahhhhhh!" He squeaked, bouncing around, his long tail sticking up as he reared back up onto his paws, slamming his large (for a kit) paw against the fern, causing it to begin to slide out of the crack.

"And then y'know what I'm gonna do! I'm gonna tell 'veryone about my super amazing mama and daddy and I'm gonna make them go: woahhhh! his parents must be amazing!" Owls squeaked, eyes wide and excited as he grinned at his mother.

Primroseadder purred, laughter bubbling up in her chest. ''Oh, Owls!'' she chuckled, wrapping her tail around him, pulling her son close to her, and covering Owlkit's pelt in loving licks as she washed him. ''Ya have dust in your fur. Can't have that, now can we?''

Her emerald hues gleamed, and she paused her washing of her son to speak once more. '''m sure Owlstar will be proud of ya as long as ya don't give 'er a reason not ta be. 'N there are plenty of cats who think Fury 'n I are great.'' Once she had finished speaking, Primroseadder went back to washing Owlkit.

"hey mama..?" He said, looking up at her, tilting his head as he sat up on his back two legs, using her leg as a prop up. "Am I different? Like- bad different..?"
