Okay, this should be simple and easy.
Most cats say yes to Orangepaw, because he's so great.
But the last cat he asked to train him had in fact threatened his life.
So, he was kind of just standing there for a moment.
Stars, get over it.
He's to great to worry about things like that!
Orangepaw huffs, before looking around for a random warrior.
He spots one, some red cat.
Looks like a warrior that knows things, though.
The tabby strides up to the warrior. "Hello, uh, Red-Cat-whatever-your-name-is!" He states "You should teach me how to climb trees!"
He says that second part matter-of-factly, as if he's in a place to give instructions to a warrior.

Reddove sat. And watched. His expression was a straight taut line, unreadable and blunt, his forehead creased slightly as he thought about what was around him.
He could feel Orangepaw padding up to him before he heard him, a skill he'd managed to pick up when he was younger since he obsessed about using his five senses to their fullest potential. Reddove was still working on it, believe it or not, and it kind of didn't work on lighter cats, but Orangepaw was heavy enough to be sensed.
Dark violet tinted eyes latched onto the orange pelt, their maw demanding something. Reddove blinked. He answered to nocat, but how could he deny the youth? As annoying as they were, they were the future, and showed as a testament to Thunderclan's greatness.
"Reddove." He replied gruffly. Trees weren't all that hard to scale. Reddove had a knack for climbing things with ease, considering how many times he'd climbed just to get a better view of the world around him. Off white paws hesitated before they lifted him up into a stand. It was always hard for him to leave whatever post he'd chosen for himself.
"Hurry up, scrap," he said, making his way through the camp exit and out into territory. It was rather cloudy this afternoon, and still cold, but bearable. Reddove was able to withstand any weather without complaints, but that didn't mean he was unaffected. He hated snow as much as the next cat. The tom stopped at a nearby tree, poking a claw into it. He huffed, "Observe."
Unsheathing his claws, he backed away from the tree, and crouched, wriggling his haunches, and looked up. He breathed before springing up by his hind legs and leaping forward, claws catching onto bark. He looked over his shoulder to Orangepaw, large marbled ears perking. "What are you waiting for?"
At the very least, Orangepaw should know how to get onto a tree, or just grip onto something. If not, his mentor surely failed him.
Reddove?
Could doves even be red?
Maybe a dead one?
Whatever, doesn't matter, he had agreed to teach Orangepaw.
So, he follows Reddove, and they soon stop.
Reddove is already up a tree, and is basically telling Orangepaw to follow, even if the wording was a bit different.
He hesitates for a moment.

He crouched, and leaped.
It was a bit clumsy at first, and he almost slid right back down.
But, he dug his claws further into the bark.

Good.
Reddove looked at Orangepaw from over his shoulder, his russet pelt darker in the shade of the tree. "Don't look down." He instructed, even if he was looking down himself. But, he was different when it came to experience on how to climb, he knew what he was doing, Orangepaw didn't. Looking down would only allow for panic, even if they weren't very high up.
The tom dug his claws deeper into bark and wriggled around a bit, trying to find a better stance. "Even out your weight before you move. Remember, you're sideways." But that was obvious. "To climb, you also have to carry up your body weight." Orangepaw didn't seem too haughty, so that should be easy enough. Reddove finally looked away from the apprentice, blue eyes settling on a low branch.
He nodded his head to it, before descending farther down the tree. "Reach that branch." He instructed, behind Orangepaw now and ready to grab him if he fell.
Orangepaw didn't look as he heard Reddove reach the ground again.
The warrior had told him not to look down, after all.
So, now all he has to do, for now, is get up to that branch.
Ha!
That should be simple!
Okay, first he's gotta even out his weight, so he does that until he feels stable enough, and then he's ready to move.
[Roll=17]
He surprisingly makes it up pretty easy.
Surprisingly? Don't think like that, of course he did!
He had managed to claw his way onto the branch, and now stared upwards, looking at the other branches. "Now what?" Orangepaw called as he continued to look up.

Reddove stared up at the orange apprentice, large ears twitching as he thought. He smiled faintly, more like a prideful smirk it anything. Reddove could let himself enjoy things momentarily, and it was clear Orangepaw grasped onto the lesson rather quickly.
"Keep goin'." He was aware that eventually he'd have to come down, and whenever that happened, Orangepaw would either fall or adapt. Reddove was in no rush however. He'd obviously stop the apprentice from falling on his head, but Reddove wasn't a secure safety blanket. He'd move clear out of the way if he thought that would be beneficial.
Orangepaw looked around for the next branch.
It wasn't hard to spot, now he just had to find it.
[Roll=13]
He hesitated, and it almost costed him.
As soon as he jumped back onto the tree, he slipped a but, but he managed to stay on.
He eventually made it to the next branch, shuffling awkwardly onto it.

As Orangepaw slightly skidded down, the tom lurched forward, stubby tail spiking in bristled alarm. He knew all cats fell on their feet, it was honestly the short distance falls they had to worry about, but that didn't stop the reflex.
As they clumsily adjusted onto a branch, Reddove stared up at them, blue eyes narrowed. He then glanced down at the base of the tree. "Get down." He ordered. "Should be the same thing, but you're going backwards. Think of it like pushing yourself down." He would suggest just leaping down from the branch, but Reddove wasn't certain the apprentice would be fine.
He was already dealing with enough anxiousness from being away from his usual guarding spot. Being out in territory was liberating, but he could never enjoy it knowing that anything could be happening back at camp, something he could've stopped if he fought hard enough.
His eyes glazed over for a moment before it's sharpness returned. Blinking slowly, he stepped forward by a paw. In case Orangepaw did take a nasty fall, he'd be there.
After Reddove finished giving instructions, he got ready to go down.
[Roll=19]
After getting off the branch and onto the bark, Orangepaw started making his way down.
It wasn't too bad, actually he was doing pretty good at it.
Obviously he was!
Anyway, after a few moments, he manages to reach the ground.
