[Assessment] well the sun was made for people, who're never gonna touch it

Stars- Two assessments left to do... she definitely couldn't do two seperate assessments so decided to make it a group thing, combat and hunting was beginning to get difficult for the she-cat as well. The large warrior sucked a sharp breath in through her teeth before pushing herself out of her nest and to her paws.

She sighed, her obviously pregnant belly swaying with each step. She just had to finish this finally assessment and she could rest... and it couldn't come at a better time. She was almost sure she would be due within the next couple of weeks and wanted to have all her ends tied up nicely before her litter was here.

Daywhisper yawned softly, she'd slept in a little later than she'd meant to, but there wasn't the biggest rush on this as long as she did it today. The large Windclan warrior cleared her throat before speaking.

"Ashpaw! Applepaw! Meet me at the kill pile! It's time for you guys' assessments!" She said with a purr before making her way to the fresh-kill pile. Day picked up a small rabbit, it was rather scrawny but she only wanted a light meal, she'd eat more after this, for now, her apprentices' assessments were more important to her.

Ashpaw lifted his head. He was grooming himself, and stood up to walk towards Daywhisper. Hearing he was going to have his assessment, he got a mixed feeling between anxiousness and excitement. If he did everything as he needed to, it would mean he would become a warrior! But in the other hand, if he didn’t succeed… Ashpaw didn’t want to think about that. He greeted his mentor when he arrived at her side. “Hi!” he said. He took a very small mouse from the fresh kill pile and began eating it while waiting for Applepaw.

Applepaw immediately sprang up, this just had to be THE MOMENT(TM), because how could it not be THE MOMENT(TM). That or it was joint training which was also very exciting sounding, even though Applepaw hasn't really gotten around to properly introducing herself to her mentor's other apprentice which is 100% on her and she 100% should've had that done. Welp! There we go! Wispy has just said assessment time!! Man she was so excited she might just explode on the spot ( and poor R/abbitpaw and Lightningstorm for having to put her back together! )

The apprentice more or less skipped right on over, no time like the present. The russet feline stopped with a hop to land right at Ashpaw's side, smiling at the ginger tom, "Why howdy hey there friend! I'm sorry it took me so long to properly meet ya'! My name's Applepaw, you're Ashpaw right?" The over eager apprentice continued with her oh-so-sunny demeanor as she looked back to Daywhisper after giving Ashpaw the time he needed to respond.

"G'morning Wispy! How're you? Well I sure do hope!"

Ashpaw was just finishing his mouse when Applepaw came up to him and his mentor. And she does so with a lot of energy and happiness, he thought. As he was sitting, he stood up out of habit and politeness to greet the apprentice that just arrived. “No problem at all with that!” he said to answer Applepaw’s apology. He then nodded and said “Yep! Nice to meet you!”.
Well, if I’d had to pass a test with someone, Applepaw seems to be a good option! he thought for himself. Suddenly realising he was purring, he slowly stopped it. I think her happiness is influencing my own mood, he deducted, half smiling.

Daywhisper smiled softly as her two apprentice's arrived, she bowed her head in greeting to Ashpaw as he was the first one to arrive "Good afternoon Ashpaw! Hope you're doing well" She said with a soft purr, her attention being pulled to the other apprentice as they approached.

She once more nodded "Hello Applepaw, I'm not too bad- The pregnancy has been pretty draining admittedly- I don't remember being this tired with Holls and Falls- But otherwise I'm doing well!" She said, tilting her head "And how have you been??" She asked curiously, before looking between the two of them "Are you both excited?" she asked with a louder purr this time.

Feeling a cold gust of wind, Ashpaw shivered. It was always cold and dark these leaf-bare mornings, but today it was even more intense than during other days. He puffed up his fur, trying to keep the warm air generated from his body from escaping. He nodded when Daywhisper asked the question. “I am!” he simply said. There was no need to add that he was also slightly cold and slightly anxious, as it was… Irrelevant information, he completed in his head.

Applepaw smiled at Ashpaw’s response before turning their attention to their shared mentor as the older feline began to speak. The happiness didn’t fade but concern grew as the russet apprentice tilted his head curiously, “You alright to be testing us? I don’t want your new nubbin’s gettin’ hurt. Oh! That reminds me!! I wanted to let you know that if you ever need, I wouldn’t mind lending a paw watchin’ your little root sprouts if you ever need a break or somethin’” She should give Hollypaw and Fallenpaw her well wishes.

“But yeah!!” Applepaw hopped in place at the reminder of her assessment, “I’m so excited! This is totally goin’ to be so excitin’! How about we start with the spar! Me and you, huh Ash?” Perhaps getting a little a head of himself, Applepaw leapt backwards, putting space between himself and Ashpaw, dropping into a defensive position, but green eyes moved to Daywhisper to hear for approval before jumping into the fray fully.

Daywhisper smiled at Applepaw's concern "I'll be fine- Shouldn't be born for another few weeks anyway" She said in thought, her tail swaying gently behind her. Applepaw's offer made purr "That's so sweet of you Applepaw, I'll definitely keep that in mind" She nodded with a smile.

She nodded in response "Good, and yes! Sparring! We can do that part here in camp- after we'll head out for hunting." The pregnant warrior straightened up, clearing her throat "I will be supervising both parts of the assessment, you may begin the sparring when you're both ready" She said firmly with a nod.

Ashpaw listened to Daywhisper, and he then nodded to show that he was ready. Getting himself into defensive position too, he waited for his opponent to attack him.

Applepaw's grin dropped just a bit as she received the go ahead from her mentor, only because you weren't supposed to be happy when it came to fighting because right now she wasn't facing Ashpaw her clan mate, but rather a enemy warrior that she had to prove herself against. Speaking of, Ashpaw seemed to take a position similar to her's, and Applepaw wasn't going to sit around and wait, and give time for Ashpaw to plan something out so instead the russet apprentice dashed forward, and when she was within range, dropped low to the ground, throwing her paws out at Ashpaw's legs, hoping to knock the apprentice down.
