It was dark in the clearing tonight, moon barely a sliver in the sky and cats sparse and mostly asleep.
Tonight was the night, not for any sort of malicious action though, but for a rebirth in a way.
Crowtooth was going to try and open his eyes properly today.
Since leaving the tunnels the tom had flickered his eyes open sparsely before now, each attempt with pain and very brief. The sun simple had been too bright, too much, and harmful to the tom that'd accidentally forsaken it for the dark. However, Crowtooth had been getting stronger and stronger each day, with help from Lighteningstorm and herbs and just the presence of the clan. After so long of solitude that could not be discounted.
Crowtooth, at least physically, was Crowtooth again and with a final steadying breath he showed it by opening his eyes. One grey eye, then the brown one, and the camp was at last seen and not just scented.
It..... wasnt what he expected. The tom frowned, understanding why that was even as it hurt his heart. This camp wasnt the one he grew up in, wasnt the one he was raised in and knew even when he forgot. The tunneler had been blindly learning this new place but in his mind when he thought camp it was the old home he saw in foggy flashes. This wasnt that, but it was home all the same.
Still looking around the tom scanned a few clanmates out and about, making notes of appearances and scents and found himself being dragged back to one cat in particular. He didnt know her at first, not strange as he knew no one, and noted he was one of those odd cats who were bigger then him, not smaller. A rarity in the clan he'd found. She, she was familiar somehow, and curious he rose to his paws, gently padding over.
Things grew clearer when he caught the mollys scent.
"Peach..... Yer Peach. Uh Peachfrost! I know you! 'm Crowtooth- wait you'd know that why 'm I even sayin it- listen 've got a bi' of amnesia but I know ya! How're ya here? Twi' said you were gone- ye weren' 'n the herb den, I-" The tom wheezed a bit, coughing and a bit awkward to say the least. What do you even say in this situation 'hey I was missing for seasons but actually alive down in the tunnels with no memory but Im back! Good to see you, what you been up to?' this was crazy to say the least.
Crowtooth sat, skunk striped tail wrapping around his paws, tattered ears twitching as he rasped in a breath.
"Uh- well 'm sure yer as startled ta see me as 'm you I guess. 'ts good ta see ya though. 'f you've got questions I can answer, though 'm still re-learnin' stuff. Haven' been back long a' all. Howre you?" Yeah, still awkward, especially given the tom was blinking more then was normal and had to keep his eyes narrowed, tender against the air as they were.
