I wanna put in a GIF and it keeps saying invalid fille. Why?

If it's for your profile pic, it has to be 100 x 100 pixels (I think that's it, anyways)

So to fix this, download the file to your computer as a .gif - go to a site like Imgur and upload it, and then right click on the picture. Copy image URL. That's a direct link that should work.
Alternatively, since you'll already have it downloaded on your system, you can just upload it via Edit Avatar.

This was true for our former web host, Webs, but we haven't been with them for about 9 months. The 100x100 pixel rule no longer applies - in fact, you can have an avatar up to 120x120 pixels, and it doesn't have to be a perfect square. The reason gifs require resizing is due to the file being too large (as in, bytes, not dimensions) for the site to process.
