Born with the name Dolly, a single kit to a single mom, the first three moons of her life were good. They were peaceful and she was living in the forest with her mom, healthy and happy. But then her mother got sick and couldn't take care of them both, so in order to survive, she disowned little Dolly and abandoned her. Dolly wandered around in the Outskirts for a few days before she was found by Kestrelstar, who was taking a mental health break from leadership. When he returned to riverclan after his hiatus, he brought Dolly and three other outsiders with him, giving her the name Birdkit. Birdkit was adopted by a queen, and all was well as she made friends galore and learned about Clan life. But then her adoptive mother went missing, and soon a warrior who became her foster father also went missing.
apprenticeship (6-30)
Made an apprentice to a warrior named Silvernight, Birdpaw grew close with this cat, trusting her and loving her like a mother. She also made friends with a lot of cats, old and young, though her best friend at this time was named Mistypaw, and she soon adopted a senior warrior, Blizzardwind, as her grandfather. Training was good, she met a kind older cat named Snowleap and they grew very close.
At one of Bird's first gatherings, though, she was attacked by a ThunderClan warrior and her friend Mistypaw was attacked as well, Birdpaw gaining a scar on her stomach and Mistypaw losing sight in one of her eyes. A gathering after that, Birdpaw witnessed a ShadowClan warrior getting executed and proceeded to run away, vomiting in shock. Since then, she swore off Gatherings until warriorhood.
At 8 moons old, Birdpaw went on a patrol with Mistypaw, Parsleypaw and a warrior named Brambleberry when they were attacked by two large rogues. Parsleypaw was maimed, Brambleberry was killed, and Mistypaw and Birdpaw were kidnapped. Before they could leave RiverClan territory, the warrior Snowleap came running to save them, and Mistypaw was left behind by the rogues in their haste to escape. But Birdpaw was taken, before being brutally injured and ended up dying in Snowleap's paws, being adopted as his daughter in the last breaths of her life.
But Birdpaw's story wasn't over, and not long after she was killed, both her best friend Mistypaw and her mentor both died. Mistypaw and Birdpaw were then sent back by Mistypaw's also deceased mentor, and they both came back to life. Upon her revival, Birdpaw became close friends with a cat named Flickerpaw, and the trio was close knit until Mistypaw went missing. Birdpaw was assigned a cat named Gingerfrost for her mentor, and they grew to be almost like father and daughter. Snowleap and Birdpaw had a beautiful relationship as well, watching sunsets and picking flowers together, and Birdpaw gained lots of adoptive family through Snowleap- who became leader, known as Pikestar, and Birdpaw's mentor, Gingerfrost, became deputy. Everything was well, but Birdsnow's training was slow-going due to her constantly being in poor health, physically and mentally- and this was magnified by the countless losses she suffered during her 20s.
One day when she was out on a walk, she found what appeared to be the bloodied remains of her best friend, Flickerpaw. Birdpaw was heartbroken over the loss of her friend, and found it difficult to make new friends after it due to losing two of her best friends- except for a cat named Kestrelpaw who she became very close friends with and eventually developed a huge crush on. During a Clan meeting one day, her "friend", Beastgrowl, became very aggressive after snarling at her father, and ended up trying to manipulate her and even sat very close to her, causing their sides to touch and making her highly uncomfortable. Pikestar exiled Beastgrowl publicly out of rage
One day, she and her grandfather were attacked by a fox. Her grandfather was killed and she fell into the river, leading to her disappearing for over a moon. When she came back, she discovered her aunt, Fawnlight had died due to complications with birth, and her father was struggling mentally. Then, her father welcomed a new child to the family, Blueberrypaw, who became Birdpaw's new sister, and Pebblesplash, a family friend who was in a romantic relationship with Pikestar.
Just as things were settling down, Pikestar's removal as leader was demanded, and Snowleap stepped down, leading to a cat named Beanstar to take the throne of RiverClan. Snowleap went missing not long after, and Birdpaw searched for him but never found him. Devastated by the loss of her beloved father, her training took another halt, and things only went downhill from there. Birdpaw's adopted sister, Silversnow, and her niece, Martenkit were both found dead in the territory, which was a horrible tragedy and hard for Birdpaw to recover from. Then, Beanstar died and Gingerfrost, her mentor and father figure, rose to the RiverClan throne. Kestrelpaw, her crush and bestfriend, was killed after their camp was flooded and the battered Clan was attacked by a furious WindClan, and Kestrelpaw was killed after hitting her head while fighting a WindClan warrior, and she was given the warrior name Kestrelskies for her heroic actions and giving her life for the Clan. As she died, Birdpaw and Kestrelskies admitted their love for each other, and Birdpaw secretly vowed to never love anyone else.
Gingerstar only lasted a few moons before he too died suddenly, found dead in his nest. Birdpaw determinedly went to the newest leader, Larkstar, and requested to finish her warrior assessment.

Birdsnow was given her warrior name by Larkstar at her first meeting as leader, and she was approached by her adoptive mother and adoptive sister, Pebblesplash and Blueberrypaw, and was able to celebrate finally becoming a warrior at last. She moved her special trinkets into the warriors den and moved in the night, hoping to have made her family proud. Not long after being made a warrior, she encountered a kit on the territory who had eaten deathberries, and attempted to save the kit but her attempts were vain- the kit ended up dying.
