Sooooooo Mudhound was back sleeping in the medicine cats den. They'd had maybe a week of freedom? Less then that? And they'd summarily landed themself back inside in a horrid fight on the border. A fight that'd once more required them being saved by a certain someone. Listen Mudhound was good at fighting! Not like amazing top tier warrior at it but they were good at it they promised! That they'd ended up on the wrong end of scraps so often was embarrassing and what was worse was that cool guy (though sometimes jerk) Spiderthroat had to save them pretty much both times! Directly or indirectly this one warrior seemed to be the one to save the tripods hide each time and come off of the same circumstance just fine....
Only, he'd ended up in here too.
He wasnt really talky, bedraggled as a lot of the poisoned cats were but also down and limp in a way that spoke of grief more then anything. Mudhounds quiet staring noted he didnt talk to many cats, not gaining many visits or trying to chat to the cats in neighboring nests. It was kinda.... sad, and the more the maine coon mix watched the more they worried about his state of mind. Wallowing in grief was no way to be, and on a day he didnt look like he'd eaten the tripod wasnt going to stand for it anymore!
Limping out of the den the warrior had snatched a crab they'd personally hunted (so sure to be free of poison) and resolved to make sure Spiderthroat ate.
Which.... wouldnt start well. See Mudhound made several mistakes in a row here. First they came up from behind the tom. Second they came in when Drizzlecloud was lecturing an idiot, masking their sounds. Third, they tripped. With a bizzare horrifying non cat like sound ripped from their throat the tripod went prone and the crab went flying. Flying through the air, legs spreading like some great spider, reaching grasping and wiggling
towards Spiderthroat. Where it would collide with his face and its spindly legs would wrap around like a headcrab monster unless he somehow dodged.
Oops. Mudhound was gonna die here.
