Whiterabbit is so stoked that she's all but buzzing out of her skin. One might think it's the day of her assessment the way she's dancing around all giddy. Hasn't even waited for the sun to breach the horizon before she's creeping into the apprentices' den, tiptoeing past dreaming students toward a familiar lump of red.

"Hey. Cardinalpaw. Y'know what we're doing today? Guess what's today. You up? C'mooon." Hazel eyes glitter eagerly in the half-light.

Cardinalpaw was asleep, his ruddy pelt rising and falling slowly. Was he dreaming? Probably. Doesn't really matter about what, his peace was disturbed by a familiar voice speaking. He looked up, blinking the sleepy haze away from his eyes as he located the sound. "Wh-..oh." He murmured, mostly to himself. They stood, yawning and glancing outside the den. "What're we doin'?" He asked, having shooed away most of the tiredness and now being curious and excited. Most training had been done...assessment? Stars he hoped so. Cedar was close too, he thought, so maybe they would be warriors at the same time. Cardinalpaw shooed away the thought. He needed to stop constantly thinking of the tom, really. He shifted his paws excitedly, grinning widely.

"Stretching." She chirps happily, blinks innocently, absolutely chews the scenery for no particular reason. "You look tired. Did you sleep alright?" Never mind that it could be because she's decided to wake him up much too early. Never mind that. "Come on, we'll do some good ones."

Whiterabbit leads him out into the clearing. Breathes in deep, tastes that good pre-dawn air. Then—oh, to the dark with it, she can't contain herself.

"I'm assessing you today, by the by. Gotta apologize first, though. I do believe I promised you your name before all the snow melted. Whoopsies." That'll teach her. Maybe. Probably not.

"I'm gonna send you out to hunt, and we'll finish with a brawl. Prey's still scarce, so take your time. I'll be there, too—you're just not gonna see much of me. Stay away from Windy Hills. The immediate area around camp should be fine enough If I tell you to come back and we're done, then come back; we're done. If I shout stop, then you'd better not move a muscle." She'd checked for traps prior with the help of some guy who didn't talk too good, but there's no telling what could have been missed.

Cardinalpaw gave his mentor a curious look at the chriped word, giving her a small grin. All that, and this early for stretching. Cardinalpaw opened his mouth to respond to Whiterabbit's question, blinking as she spoke again. Ah, whatever. It would've been a three word response anyways.

The russet tom follow his mentor into the clear, his tail flicking. It was cold, but that was almost 100% because it was early in the morning. Cardinalpaw grinned widely as Whiterabbit said what they were actually doing. Oh, he was so close to finally being a warrior.

"I don't care, I really didn't think it would happen anyway." Cardinalpaw teased, his ears twitching. The tom glanced at his shoulder, looking awau after roughly three seconds of inspecting the almost completely healed bite mark. It wouldn't cause issues today. Cardinalpaw streched and shook his pelt, fluffing out his fur.

Cardinalpaw nodded at the warriors words. He was grateful he was starting with hunting, that was something he was already good at. But, like Whiterabbit said, prey was still scarce and it wouldn't be something he could do quickly, unfortunately. But whatever. It'd be better to have it be challenging anyways. He was mostly even remotely worried about the brawl. He was good enough at battle, but his movements felt so stiff when he did them. Maybe because he was genuinely thinking about it whenever he had practiced.

Stay away from Windy Hills. Ah, yeah. What was going on there again? Didn't matter, he didn't think he'd have much luck there anyways. He nodded to show he heard her words. "Got it!" They replied cheerfully, his paws shifting impatiently.

"Tsk! Have faith in yourself. You made it eventually." She entertains a bit of banter, stretching out and rolling her neck and getting a final big yaaaaawn out of her chest. "I uhhh....hm. I don't have a speech or anything, but I'm rootin' for you."

It'd be pretty stinkin' embarrassing for the both of them if he fumbled this. Whiterabbit smiles big. Too big. She breathes in deep—

"Okaythree-two-oneGO!"

Cardinalpaw snorted at his mentors words. Yeah, eventually. After 11 moons. The tom streched and he flexed his claws, and he gave Whiterabbit a curious look. He wasn't expecting a speech, they didn't feel like listening to things he'd either heard before or didn't want to hear. The russet tom flashed her a smile at the words "I'm rooting for you." Yeah, well, at least someone was.

They blink in surprise as Whiterabbit grins wide, and very quickly gives him a countdown. The tom quickly bounds off. His paws were quiet, silent, even, as he moved through the grass. His eyes scanned the ground for anything that could clue him towards any prey. The sent of rabbit hit his nose suddenly, and he stood up, trying to spot it. It was nibbling on grass a few tail lengths in front of him, and he had yet to be detected. Perfect.

Cardinalpaw crept forward slowly, ears angled forward and eyes focused intently on the prey. The russet tom snapped forward, startling the rabbit and sending it racing. Cardinalpaw bolted after it, quickly catching it and giving it a quick bite to the neck. Boom! One rabbit down. He stood up with the furry creature hanging from his jaws as his bi-colored eyes scanned his surroundings for traps, more prey, etcetera.
